Nothing resolved, it's in the attorney's hands now.
Description of Work: Mr. John Sewell proprietor of this company cashed our $10,000 check from our insurance company, we have not seen him in 4 months. Mr. Sewell has avoided phone calls from us and is threatening bankruptcy. We have a lawyer involved as well. Google his name and complaints, something I wished we have done. Mr. Sewell is the son of a fellow Realtor. We trusted the referral source, a costly mistake. Do not let this roofer near your home. Make no mistake, the man is smooth and waves the American flag but that's game. Bottom line John Sewell is a thief.

On the front end, John was responsive and they came and did the work within a week or so of signing the bid. The roof looked great and they got the job done the first time. Except for a few roofing nails here and there, they cleaned up well after themselves and otherwise left little trace of being in our yard. Until winter, the roof held up fine with no signs of recurrent leakage. However, when the snow/sleet/ice storms hit us, ice dams created a major leak over our main bathroom, destroying our bathroom ceiling, saturating the insulation above & creating a potential mold problem in our walls (yet to be determined). We have contacted John multiple times to come out to the house and help us determine the source of the leak so that we can prevent the huge, costly problem from recurring. Thus far, after a few months of trying to contact him, he has not answered or returned our phone calls. We are still waiting to repair/replace our bathroom ceiling so that we can have assurance that the source of the leak is closed up. We aren't certain yet whether they are to blame for the leak, but are of the opinion that the seams where the roof meets the house should have all been amply flashed and sealed and any preventative measures (ice shields or special underlayments) employed (or at the very least recommended!) in areas that were at risk for leakage. However, up to this point, we can't even get John to talk to us. Due to his lack of responsiveness/poor customer service after the completion of the job, we would not hire Kansas City Exteriors, LLC for any future work on our home, should we have need.
Description of Work: Our roof needed to be replaced due to hail damage and leaking.
