***You have been warned***After I left work, using PTO, this company decided to call and cancel literally last minute. I had (3) other companies contact me but I chose this group since they were first. My appt was scheduled from 4-7PM. I got a call at 4 PM to cancel on a Friday. They did absolutely nothing to assist and blamed their 3rd party call center for the mistake. Put it this way....If I was engulfed in flames and this was the only company that had water; I'd rather burn. Absolute disgraceful company.

We always used Roger the Plumber. Once they were bought by 4 Eco Services, I cannot recommend them. We agreed to new AC, but no particular unit or price was discussed until the day it was scheduled. The office said they will go over that with you when they arrive. We were quoted $14,000 AC for our 1,400 sq. ft , single story house! I had arranged other appointments around this, and now needed to find a nw HVAC business. In the end, a one-man business did the whole job for $3500.

Ok. This company now owns Rainbow plumbing, parent org is 4 eco services. Did not tell us that when we called. Pricing is MUCH HIGHER than dealing with the old Rainbow plumbing. Gouged us on faucet repair and sink replacement. Cost was 85% labor/ overhead. Will not use again. Forgot to put cover on main house water valve on front lawn when departing. Did not offer ideas on faucet hardware, nice staff.

First they came and tried to fix the original toilet. He told me that if we decided to get a new toilet he would take that of the final bill. When he installed the new toilet, the seat broke within a week. The toilet is so low that you almost dip your hand in the water when you wipe yourself. I feel like this was a child's toilet that was installed. Due to an ongoing family emergency, I was not able to address the issue in a timely manner. I did not have further contact with the provider. I would never recommend them.

My wife found "Roger The Plumber" on the internet. Unfortunately, she didn't check Angie's List first, as she would have seen the complaints about their pricing policy. Their plumber tried to fix our leaky faucet, then installed a new one (which we had already bought from Home Depot). He laid out the cost, and my wife said go ahead. I am not suggesting they lied about the cost in any way. On the contrary, they were quite open about the exorbitant quote they were offering. My complaint is that their business model is apparently the "sucker born every minute" approach. Yes, my wife approved the work. But they know full well that the price they quoted was RIDICULOUS. Unfortunately, they also know that once they're standing in someone's kitchen, there are enough seniors, uninformed housewives and clueless homeowners out there that have no idea what a fair price is, and will just pay it, rather than send them away and find a different plumber that charges a fair price. I have no complaint about people making a living, but we were charged $640 for a plumber to install a faucet. I have Lawyers in Los Angeles that don't charge that much an hour. I went online and found the average cost in my area is $186. Don't believe it? http://wisercosts.com/olathe-ks-kitchen-faucet-installation-cost or http://www.homewyse.com/services/cost_to_install_faucet.html I called "Roger The Plumber", and told them I felt ripped off, and was going to post reviews to that effect. They called me back and actually sounded a bit upset that I was complaining "because your wife approved it". But just to show how decent they are, he offered to "adjust" the price if I would consider using them again and not post negative notices. Fortunately, I don't need their "adjustment" as much as want to be treated fairly in the first place. Hopefully this will save others from getting hosed. And to "Roger The Plumber", why not try succeeding by doing good work at a fair price, and getting good word of mouth from people who feel they were treated well. Crazy, I know... but it just might work.

They came back and do a couple of follows ups. There was a leak and I asked them to come back out and check it for me. They just said, "Hey, we'll be there." and there was no, "You this this out of warranty, we don't cover that." or anything like that. It was, "We'll be there." There was one moment when it was after hours they said, "We can't get to you tonight. You know turn the water off and we'll get it fixed tomorrow."They guaranteed their work between 1 to 2 years and when I did have an issue I called them and they came out. They even came out on Sunday and they didn't charge me any extra.

They quoted me $502.76 to replace a simple wax seal. When I complained about the quote, the serviceman indicated the repair could be done for about $390. I told the serviceman that all I wanted was a wax seal replacement, and could not understand why the price was so high. They then tried to justify this exorbitant cost by explaining that they replace "valves and other parts" as part of this standard repair service. For a wax seal. When I informed the serviceman that $390 was still too expensive for me, they then tried to charge me $39 just for showing up and giving me an estimate. The serviceman then subsequently spent 10 minutes calling his supervisors, as if they would convince me to pay this service call fee just for spending 15 minutes total at my home for an estimate. Here was here for 15 minutes, tops. I will never use Roger the Plumber again. Buyer beware.

One good policy that we have at Roger The Plumber is... you always know the cost and the problem before any work begins. The work is completed by a state licensed master plumber and comes with an extended warranty on all parts and labor. We are fully insured ,are phones are answered 24 hours a day. That's why Angie says more weight is given where work has been completed .

The plumber was prompt. originally thought it was a simple job, then we found out that there were other problems. the cost went up. I couldn't fully pay for it at the time, so he put in a temporary plug. Fair enough. But it cost me $360 just to have a end cap on a pipe. next day I had a different guy come out and fix the whole thing for 1/4th the price.

Mike was scheduled 10am-noon on Saturday 7/13. At about 10:30am Deb called, stated Mike was tied up and I could choose to wait 2-3 more hours for him on Saturday or anytime Sunday. Mike arrived about 1:15pm on Saturday. He walked through the house, listening to what I had to tell him about the plumbing problems and asking me questions. During the walk through, he found the cause of the leak in the basement by the washing machine and fixed it on the spot (the valve wasn't completely closed and the hoses had been disconnected last winter while I was working out of state and the furnace died). Mike sat down and looked up each item in his repair manual / price list, he wrote out a detailed list of each item that needed to be addressed, he included warranty information. Then he verbally explained he item. I asked him to repair the toilet in the 1/2 bath while he was still here on Saturday. He had several other customers waiting, so he was not able to do the other items on Saturday. We agreed he would come back on Wednesday 7/17 at 11am to fix the leak at the shower faucet. Later Saturday evening I noticed a very slight leak coming from the repaired toilet. I called the office number. Roger called back a few minutes later. He didn't have anyone available to come out Saturday evening. But he talked me through a work around that would stop the leaking until Mike could return on Sunday. Mike arrive at 10:30 on Sunday, adjusted the tank position and seals. No further leaks have occurred. On Wednesday he arrived at 8:30am, the morning customer had rescheduled, so my time was moved up. Mike completed all 3 of the remaining tasks on Wednesday and worked out a payment arrangement that was mutually advantageous. I have read many of the comments left by other users. Especially the negative comments regarding price. In my opinion the expertise shown by the worker (Mike), the quality parts (warranties), the reputation of this company (making it right, no matter what it takes) and the ability to contact the owner far outweigh perceived savings. A cut rate may save a few dollars today. But, I had to ask myself "Is this a $400 dollar and the other guy is cutting corners on parts, labor, and/or procedures to get $180 instead? Will the other guy still be around when/if something goes wrong? What happens if he discovers additional required tasks? Is the other guy bait and switch?" Yes, I sometimes enjoy gambling. But, I go to the casinos where I know I'm gambling and I have some control of the amount I might lose. I would highly recommend Roger the Plumber.

Really well. Called on Sunday and they were able to come that day at no additional charge. Roger answered the phone himself and was helpful right off the bat. We had a mystery leak in our basement ceiling so we called another plumber we usually use called on Saturday night. They only had one technician on call so they wanted us to shut off the water and wait until Monday. We called Roger instead. The plumber, Mike, checked things out then called in another service to narrow down where they thought the problem was coming from. They cut some holes in our ceiling to figure out what was happening but within a few hours, had the mystery solved and the leak stopped. We are very happy with their quick service and availability on Sunday without an upcharge. We will definitely use Roger the Plumber again.

We decided to finish our lower level in our home this year and needed to plumb for and install a Grinder Pump as part of the finish. Our Grinder Pump was purchased and installed by Terry Carver (owner) of Plumb Rite. The facts detailing the plumbing disaster that Terry Carver caused and the codes he violated can be found under Plumb Rite here on Angie's List. Roger and Mike were put in the difficult situation of fixing and completely reconfiguring my Grinder Pump equipment and the associated plumbing. On the night my lower level had fecal matter coming out of the shower floor, toilet and kitchen sink, Roger became a HERO to me and my family for the fourth time. As usual, Roger answered my phone call promptly and after normal work hours (around 7pm) on the evening of my disaster. During the phone call, he suggested a solution to my urgent need and within a matter of a few hours both he and Mike arrived on-site to clean up the feces and diagnose and fix my plumbing disaster, caused by Terry Carver of Plumb Rite. We had already paid Terry Carver in full and over $3,300 to install our plumbing and Grinder Pump. Terry Carver of Plumb Rite violated at least three building codes (712.2, 712.3.4 and 906.5.2) during his improper installation of our Grinder Pump and the associated plumbing, which caused significant back-up resulting in fecal matter in my newly remodeled lower level. This is not the first time that Roger and his team have saved me. Several years ago, my Sump Pump was blocked with a rock which caused my basement to flood in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. Roger had one of his plumbers at my home within minutes of my phone call. He had all of the supplies on his truck when he arrived, including a brand new Sump Pump. He replaced my old "builder grade" Sump Pump with a new dual Sump Pump with battery back-up and even provided me with two dehumidifiers to dry out my basement. On two other plumbing needs, Roger had my garbage disposal and sump pump battery replaced within hours of receiving my call. I want the job done right the first time, so I will use Roger for all of my plumbing needs from this point forward. I have been delighted with Roger and his team for both the install of my Sump Pump and Grinder Pump. His responsiveness, performance, quality of work, level of service, knowledge of codes and reliability cannot, in my opinion, and has not, in my experience, been matched by any other plumber in Kansas City.
Description of Work: A Very Happy Client! Roger and your Team, thank you once again for saving me! Roger and Mike reconfigured and fixed my Grinder Pump and the associated plumbing quickly and perfectly in July of this year when my worst nightmare came true - poop in my lower level!

There was an unpleasant leak underneath our toilet apparently caused by a damaged beeswax flange. We had tried in the past to fix it ourselves but could not. I called Roger the Plumber because we had used him in the past for a different sort of problem. The plumber got the job done, but we were presented with a bill totaling $588.70 for a new flange and re-seating the toilet. (We didn't buy a new toilet.) I complained that the price was outrageous for the work that was done and asked if there had been a mistake. No mistake, I was told. When I asked if that was the customary charge in the industry I was told that each plumber establishes his own pricing. Although the work was done well and on time, we feel that we were ripped off with such an exorbitant price. Shame on me for not getting an estimate! We won't be calling "Roger" again in the future.

We always give the cost up front in writing. We always give any options. Our Highly trained technicians do not have permission to make up a price for any work. They carry a Nationally Recognized price guide .Once they look at the work they get the cost right out of the book.Everybody will pay the same and will know what needs to be done and the cost before we do any work.We have used this system since November 1992.We have never done any work for anyone with out there permission. Please give me another chance I will give you a free look next time.
