Couldn’t have asked for more. Robert and Caryn helped us through the whole process and were very responsive to questions. We had one minor glitch with the plumbing but they had it taken care of right away. Felix installed the backsplash and we love it. Great experience and highly recommend. Totally satisfied.

Robert and his team were excellent. Robert reviewed 'the process' and immediately put all of the 'tasks/steps' on the calendar for a timely installation. The designer/customer-service/showroom team were also excellent -- excellent 'the attention to detail'. Robert also scheduled his plumbing (Jim Lane) and tiling partners (Stellar Floors) who also did an excellent job. We will definitely use them again for our granite needs, and highly recommend them!!

Granite Tops was wonderful to work with. Sometimes it took longer than expected for responses to phone messages or email questions which is understandable because they have such a small staff. The day of installation the crew was supposed to start around 1:00 in the afternoon but didn't arrive until after 5:00 p.m. and worked until 10:30 p.m. to ensure the job was done and done right. The quality of work is exceptional and we would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Four months of frustration! Update 11/5/2013: today we received a threatening email from Granite Tops as a result of our review so are removing parts of our review though all previous statements are completely true and accurate in our opinion ........ Encouraged by Angie's List reviews, I called Granite Tops for an estimate. The owner, Robert, came out and very quickly did the evaluation of my kitchen for new countertops. (All other estimates took significantly longer, in hindsight) I had a number of questions and clarifications prepared and he answered them all professionally leaving me confident that they would do a good job. The estimate came in about the same as the others I obtained: about $3900 for and quot;complete one day granite kitchen installationand quot; and the materials - minus a sink yet to be chosen. Templating was scheduled for about a week later, slab layout (when we indicate where the counters are cut from the stone) a few days after that and installation for about a week after that. So we set out to find our granite and marble and notified Robert and Caryn (General Manager) of our picks (which were found at Bedrock International, L.L.C.) Installation was postponed about 48 hours prior to the appointed time apparently due to the stone not being ready. [Parts of my review have been removed by me here] We felt we had to police every detail to force Granite Tops to do the work we were paying them for. [More review removed here by me] Somehow, the white marble we chose acquired a bright and quot;safety orangeand quot; spot which we had to point out and repeatedly were assured would be removed. When it was finally installed the orange spot remained and we had to send it back twice before finally giving up in disgust and deciding to just live with the repair that, to us, looks like the spot was scraped out with a screwdriver and filled with grey epoxy. These are just brief examples of the many problems we felt occured with this job. [more review removed here by me] Professionalism was poor in our opinion. Granite tops repeatedly blamed Bedrock International (the stone supplier) for everything - telling us that and quot;Bedrock International dropped the ball!and quot; Never once were we offered any accomodation for all the concerns and work that we did not feel satisfied with. Finally, after four long months of nearly constant frustration, many emails, trips to Granite Tops and phone calls, our and quot;one day kitchenand quot; counter installation is done - with a number of, in our opinion, poor workmanship issues remaining but we are so tired of dealing with the whole thing that we have chosen to just live with them.

For what they did for me, the price was reasonable. The owner Robert was very generous to fulfill my dream. He really worked hard to stay within my budget. Him and his workers went above and beyond the call of duty for me. They came out and were extremely polite. Even their secretary went out of her away to help me too. I was very pleased with their work, the product and I am very satisfied. I wished Angie's List list would let me give them an A+.

We got several bids for countertops and Granite Tops came in slightly under the rest. The owner seemed very knowledgable and customer-focused. Based on the reviews on Angie's list we decided to go with them. Their showroom was always packed with people and they were frequently very busy which shows they're doing something right. All interactions with them were professional and helpful. We chose our granite slabs, they came and took the template measurements, and we went to their shop to approve the layout. My kitchen contractor was on site on the day they came to do the install. We have a large island that was too big for one slab, so they had to make a seam which my wife was very worried about. They lined the flow of the two pieces of granite up extremely well and the seam was incredibly well concealed. Nobody that has seen our kitchen even notices it. They were very professional and finished in less than three hours. After they had gone, our contractor was very impressed with both the quality and speed of their work. My aunt also hired them to do her kitchen and she was satisfied as well. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

We chose Granite Tops and put down a $1500 deposit in late March. We went through a few quote revisions because we were trying to stay in a budget and were considering doing 2 areas in the kitchen; the counter tops and a small seperate buffet area. Caryn was flexible with the quotes and gave us quotes with and without the buffet as well as with and without using remnants for the buffet. The remnants were ony marginally less so we ruled it out. Because of our budget, we decided not to include the buffet top at the time. We did also incude a new black granite composite sink that they carry. We supplied our own new faucet and soap dispenser. Work was scheduled about 2 weeks out and they showed up on time and were here less than a day. Everything went smoothly until the end. The installers called me into the room and asked if I was sure I wanted the soap dispenser. I was confused and asked why? They explained that most people end up hating the soap dispensers and wish they had never gotten one because they get gunked up, stop working, and then they are stuck with a hole in the granite and sometimes can't find a similar sized replacement. All this surprised me and gave me pause since I hadn't really given much thought to the soap dispenser since you always see them in the granite photos, displays, etc. So I told them to hold off and I wanted to investigate/research on the subject. There's alot of home improvements blogs out there and I figured I could find something. I immediately called Caryn, the guys were still here, and explained the situation. I asked if we decided to go ahead with the soap dispenser if they would come back out and drill the hole. She said yes, as long as they were in the area. If we wanted it on a specifc date or requested a special trip, there would be a trip charge of $65. I told her we would let her know. About a week later I emailed (4/12) and called and told her we looked into it, did some checking, and still wanted the soap disp installed but no rush, just whenever they could fit it in the schedule. We also requested a lien waiver for the work. She said she would be back in contact to schedule something. A few weeks went by and I didn't here anything so I called/emailed. No repsonse so my husband went by the store, got the lien waiver taken care of and paid the balance of the invoice. She said they would have a crew in the area on Tues 5/1 and Thurs 5/3 and could drill the hole. They didn't show on Tues so Weds I emailed to see if they would be coming Thurs. No response and no show on Thurs either. So my husband called and she said they were very busy with Memorial Day coming up and said they would be out on Weds 5/16. They never showed and didn't call. So 3 appts scheduled and no show each time. It's a good thing I work from home and didn't take off work 3x. I thought I would wait and see if I heard back. Finally, on July 27th 2012, I sent another email and specifically asked if they would be finishing the job or not, just let me know and I would "move on". Again, no response. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. We have had a lot of work done to our house in the last 2 years (finished basement, new roof, new gutters, window repairs, etc) and I have rated just about everyone that has done work (see my reviews!) and this is the ONLY negative review I have ever written. To be ignored and treated so disrespectfully is appalling. I do like the granite we picked out (Giallo Portofino) and they seem to have done a good job with installation but to have it end so ugly is disappointing and I would never be able to recommend them.
Description of Work: In early March 2012 we received 3 bids for granite countertop installation from Angie's List rated vendors. All bids were comparable with similar installation processes and lead-times. All 3 showed up as scheduled and provided quotes promptly. We chose Granite Tops because they seemed flexible and easy to work with, although the others seemed fine, too.

I visited their showroom in November and their staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained the process and gave me an estimate and provided some references. I had the work done and everything went as planned. All of their staff from the office staff, template man, and installers were very professional. Obviously they know what they are doing. Their install calendar was very busy, so they must be doing something right.

Caryn, the office manager, was extremely professional, easy to work with, and very organized. She walked me through their warehouse so I could pick the exact slab of granite for our counters, then worked with me to set up a day for installation (no easy task since we are out of town a lot). The owner was also present for our discussions and seemed like a very personable guy. I left with a cost estimate in hand. They sent Danny out with his template materials about a week before install. Installation day went very smoothly, and since we did our own tear-out, the boys just brought in the new granite tops and began leveling them and caulking underneath. The whole process took about 2.5 hours for about 30 sq ft of counter space, including the new undermount sink installation. They also sealed the countertops and cleaned up. I reconnected the plumbing myself. Granite Tops is a very reliable and professional company, I'd recommend them to anyone and plan to use them again in the future.

It went very acceptably. I checked out many granite stores and slabs. The actual granite was not purchased from Granite Tops, but was from the Gallery (nearby). Granite Tops picked up the slab and held it until I was ready. I went to Granite Tops a few times to mark the precise way I wanted the granite cut and marked it with masking tape. There was a fair amount of movement in the granite, so I was particular about what was kept and what got cut off. I also had to decide what to cut out for the sink. They were very helpful with this. Installation took a few hours. The island went in without issue, however, they broke the wooden cabinetry when they placed the granite slab on a small part and put too much weight on a single piece of wood. I had to have my cabinet person repair this. They also had to recut the perimeter pieces in my driveway a few times to make them fit. It appears they did not take precise measurements before they ever started cutting. They also put 2 dents into the sheetwork when they were installing. These are not big deals and they paid for the repairs. Overall, I would use them again.
Description of Work: Single slab Granite on island was installed. Island had a single cutout for sink. On the perimeter countertop, Caesarstone was installed, also with a single cutout for a sink. The perimeter involved 2 pieces, separated by the range. The range was at a 45 degree angle, so the stone cuts were done at angles to match.

it went as well as we had hoped as i described above.
Description of Work: Granite Tops came out and measured my kitchen countertops. I went into their place of business and looked at several different types of granite, chose the one i wanted along with a new sink. They called with an estimate and they put the order in. They gave me a time frame for coming out to make a template and for the actual installation. The time frame was actually a shorter wait than they previously said which was a nice surprise. The installation went smoothly, the sink went in without a problem, the seams were hidden as best as they could be and everything turned out perfectly. The owner came by on installation day to meet us and make sure everything was running smoothly. Overall, the whole experience with Granite Tops was a good one and next year we will definitely consider them when we renovate our bathrooms.

We just finished a complete kitchen remodel and chose Granite Tops as our fabricator. Of all the contractors we worked with throughout the project, Robert and Caryn at Granite Tops were the best. Robert worked up a bid for us using their standard Top 10 granite category and because we were looking for something a bit different, he was helpful in making another selection. Caryn was always there to answer the phone and get me quick answers when I needed them. When it came time for them to come out and template, Lalo was there promptly. I thought we might be having a difficult time communicating because we were concerned about the radius we were having put on one end of the island. Robert assured me the next day that Lalo knew what he was doing and was one of the best stone guys in the metro area. Now that the job is finished I believe him. Robert and Lalo took some extra time to lay this one out. Because of the pattern in the Lapidus stone, it was not as easy to put the seams together. But it turned out beautiful and the seams are hardly noticeable at all. The radius on the island is perfect. The two gentlemen that came out to install were very efficient, courteous and didn't leave a mess behind. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would definitely go back to them again.

After checking with several companies and getting the neccesary bids, we settled on using Granite Tops because of their obvious knowledge, experience and price. The process was thouroughly explained and everything worked just as we were told it would. They were able to replace a run of more than 14 feet that had a sink in the middle with only one seam in an fairly obscure location. We also replaced a large island (3+ by 6+ feet) and two other smaller runs, a total of more than 62 square feet. We chose a simple half-round edge and an entry grade granite because that happened to be what we wanted. The price also included tear-out of existing counters and a 16 gauge stainless steel double bowl sink which they obtained for us for at very good price. The job did not include the plumbing installation and we supplied the faucet--our choice since we have experience with that part of the job. Once we settled on the company, and type of granite, arrangements were made for us to inspect our slabs. A time was set for templating the counters, we stopped by to OK the placement of the major pieces on the slabs and a week after templating the finished counters were installed. Everyone showed up on time ready to do their part of the job. My thanks to the entire crew for their patience, and professionalism: Robert and Karen in the office, Lalo the templating master and Adnan et. al. for the installation. The counters look great!. FYI, I have a degree in geology so it was interesting to see who really new what about the material they work with (it's not all granite and all granites don't have the same properties). Others also had excellent knowledge of the material and there was a close runner-up for the job--price ultimately made the difference. PS: At the time of this posting we are waiting on the lein waiver from the granite slab provider before making final payment. If you have a job like this done by anyone, be very sure you see the proof of insurance up front and get all waivers signed before final payment.

Overall, a positive experience. Visited the warehouse several times to select the granite. They offer full slabs but also have an extensive selection of remnant pieces. We were able to find remnants for each one of our projects and were able to get exotic pieces at extremely reasonable prices. I was trying to find a color that would coordinate with my existing granite countertops. They gave me several very large samples to take home which made my choice easier. Somewhat difficult to reach by phone and messages are not always returned promptly. This little bit of frustration was well worth it considering the quality work that was done and the rare pieces that we found. Their advertising says they are open on Sunday but they aren't. On installation day, crew was running very late. We were informed but I was concerned as it was a Friday and we had disconnected the water in 2 bathrooms. They didn't arrive until 4:00 but stayed until their portion of the job was completed.
Description of Work: Granite Tops replaced existing countertops with granite in 2 bathrooms and the kitchen island. They removed the old tops and hauled them away. They removed the cooktop and replaced it once the new top was in place. The cutout for the cooktop was done onsite and I was very concerned that it might not be a perfect fit. With no template to work from, the guys cut it and it looks great! They mounted 3 undermount porcelain sinks in the bathrooms.
