College Hunks Hauling Junk

A total nightmare that was not discovered until two months later I had another Moving company move my things into my now home. I assumed I was getting professional movers so I signed and initialed the papers they told me to! CH "professional" movers put heavy boxes and I do mean boxes (plural) on a solid glass table and it was shattered, not cracked, SHATTERED! They also put chair and table legs on my leather furniture which now has permanent dents! I called them and they sent me a claims form which I did fill out and sent it back. Then I get an email with the copy of the papers that I signed that stated they will only pay $.60 per pound not $.60 on the dollar for the value of the destroyed table, I didn't even ask for settlement for my leather furniture! I told them that I was not satisfied with their work and assumed I was getting professionals. I assumed they thought I would just let it go, not worth the effort, I didn't and then they told me they discovered I owed them $99 more! I said I paid that they said I didn't, I considered it a form of blackmail, if I didn't send it they could send it to a collection agency and ruin my credit! So I paid the money and wanted a copy of my signature on an invoice that said I owe them $99, not a new invoice that was marked PAID, I wanted to see the original invoice! And lo and behold they just found that I had paid it! They said they would send my $99 back Plus $100.00 for the table. I declined the $100, it is not a fair settlement. I am sure I will never get a decent settlement for my table,but I am not just letting it go, thus the review!

The team worked quickly, loaded the trucks based on what came up to 2nd floor and what was headed to the garage. The time taken took a little less than initial estimate. We also had them come back to the house later on to take some furniture to donate when it didn't sell - that cost us $243.

Estimated it would take about 1-1.5 hours to complete the job there for be a certain dollar amount. Actually took over 3 hours and the cost was more than double the original price told. Since the job was completed I had no recourse but to pay per the employees there. I will not hire them again and feel they did a bait and switch.

We have used them twice now and both times went great. They came the next day and were right on time. They made short work of the stuff we needed hauled off as well as the moving of boxes from our basement to the top floor. The guys were very polite and worked quickly. Would highly recommend them and will certainly be using them again.

Excellent work. Jordan, Preston and Robert were very professional, friendly and respectful during the entire move. They worked very hard to complete the work in a timely manner and were very careful to make sure my items were not damaged.

Jacob and his crew are the best. Great attitude, great customer service mentality. They were expeditious, moved as quickly as possible and took great care in moving our office. They are 'above and beyond' type of movers. And yes, we'll certainly use them again and recommend them.

I highly highly recommend. From the start when I called I got nothing but great service. Jacob Horn was our Sales Rep. He came out to the house and gave me a really great estimate. He was right on the mark. He said we needed 2 trucks and 4 Hunks. We filled both trucks and all 4 Hunks ( John, Logan, Jeff, & Zan) were most awesome. They got everything done really quick. They took really great care of everything from loading to unloading. We planned on 7-8 hours and they got it done in 5 hours. Our total move was $400.00 less than the estimate. Will definitely use them again for any moving or hauling I need. 5 star service from beginning to end.

While 2 workers organized a began the loading, a 3rd person was near by and assisted the crew. Jake was polite & professional in assessing the work and providing a fair bid. Logan was with Jake and assisted with neat & orderly loading of the debris. Then, a 3rd person appeared, Zach. He wasn't far & came by to expedite the work. And thanks for returning everything back in it's place upon leaving. Thanks for a prompt & effeicent service.

Great. I phoned the company at around 9am, and by noon a clean truck showed up with two well dressed drivers, who for the next two hours hauled stuff from our basement in record time. By 2 they had completed a job which I thought would take all day, and only charged $300. Any useable item was donated to Goodwill. I will use them again as we continue our cleanup.

The young men were prompt and courteous. They removed above items quickly and left the area in good condition.

These gentlemen were thoughtful and professional. They were on time and once they understood what we needed, went right to work. My wife and I were downsizing and moved into a new home close to the old one. In my college years I worked for moving van companies and had a sense of the job. These 4 gents were well trained and paid particularly close attention to not hitting walls, door jams, etc. They moved everything efficiently and did not waste time. Frankly, I was impressed with their work ethic and desire to do the job right. I have since contacted them for a second job. My wife and I highly recommend this company.

Called day before to confirm app't. They were ahead of schedule and called to see if it would be o.k. to come early. When they got to my house, they introduced themselves, asked to see the pieces to be moved then explained how they figured the cost for the service. When they got my approval, they were on it and done with the items to be moved in a matter of a few minutes. I had some heavy boxes that I needed help moving to the garage and a heavy marble top to a coffee table to go to the garage and they did that while I made out their check.They beat me and had to wait for me to finish the check. They were so very professional and pleasant, I'm telling everyone about these nice, reasonable, pleasant young men. And, I have more work to be done in the fall that I will certainly call for them again. Thanks guys, you were great!

They were amazingly fast and well worth the money. In an hour's time, they had removed 3 quarters of a truckload of items. Very professional and kind. Hard workers and careful about not hitting walls nor doors. I highly recommend them.

I contacted CHHJ via their website, but was concerned that I would not hear back in enough time as we were working just a few days out from the move. I called the 1-800 number in hopes of speeding up the process. I shouldn't have worried. Shortly after wrapping up a 15-minute conversation with a very pleasant call center agent, I received a callback from my email inquiry. The agent confirmed that my reservation was indeed set up and ready to go. All my questions about fees and charges were answered. Within 24 hours I heard from Justin, the owner of the franchise. He was thorough and informative, even suggesting that based on our conversation we may only need two people, not the estimated three, saving us money. He also sent a confirmation text. The crew called ahead of time on the morning of the move to confirm arrival time, then were actually a little early (so was I). The movers, Josh and Derek, were professional, efficient, and careful. I liked that they were dressed professionally, as well. Having had a less than satisfactory experience last fall with another moving company, I was very impressed. (We had planned to use CHHJ at that time, but they were not available on the date we needed to move.) The crew was able to load the truck and deliver our items well within the estimated timeframe, which is even more impressive as I underestimated the amount of stuff we had which required TWO trips to the unit and house instead of one. I would highly recommend Justin's CHMJ franchise location. Excellent experience all around. The estimate was accurate, and the movers professional and polite. More importantly, my mother was pleased with the care with which they handled her belongings.

They did a great job. They were in communication several times in the weeks leading up to the move. They sent 2 trucks and 4 guys. The move took less than 4 hours and they hauled away some items we did not have use for in our new house (8there is a charge to haul off the junk). I could not have been more pleases with the College Hunks crew. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone I know who is moving.

Everyone I had contact with was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Beginning with the person who handled my initial phone call to the two young men who actually completed our project. This involved moving furniture from one room in the second story of our home to another. Three rooms were involved. Several of the pieces were fairly awkward and heavy. The person who spoke with me on the phone was concise, thorough and very customer service oriented. The movers who came to the house worked quickly and efficiently. They did a great job! I highly recommend the company and will definitely use them again.

They were amazing! Customer Service was extremely prompt and made the entire process stress free. The crew showed up on time and took minimal time and effort to move my entire household across town. I would highly recommend using this company.

They were very nice and did a great job. From our basement they hauled out a hide-a-bed, another couch, 2 coffee tables, a dining table and 8 chairs, 2 other chairs, a refrigerater, queen size mattress and box springs, king size headboard, water bed, another dining table, and various junk items. They brought up a recliner for us to use in our family room, moved a dining set from our kitchen to our basement, hauled out an old t.v. console and a small couch from the main floor. They also hauled away a pile of wood from our back yard. I like that they donate and recylcle whatecver possible. We would definitely recommend them!

Wow! That was fast! Had a small move that I didn't want to pay $300.00 for. (Minimums from other movers.) Contacted Shawn at around 7:30am TODAY. Justin and Andrew showed up about 1 hour ago. It is now 9:45 am and my job is done. They were great. Careful, courteous and obviously VERY RESPONSIVE!
