We have been consistently recognized year after year with multiple 1st-place awards not only in the Kansas City metropolitan area but also in the Northern Midwest 7-state region and even at the national level. Our principal designer and craftsman is certified by NARI, placing him in the company of less than 50 individuals in the Kansas City metropolitan area bearing NARI's coveted "Certified Remodeler" designation. Nothing but provide a simple line item list for a bathroom remodel
Description of Work: He provided a quote for a bathroom remodel that was more than double the price he stated while he was at our home looking - it did not provide plans or dimensions - just a line item list. He wanted $500 and would put that toward the cost of the remodel. We decided to go with another company that came in at less than half his cost and he would not refund any portion of the $500. Would never do business with him again!!

It was a long and arduous process. They were very creative but we didn't set a firm budget. It seemed like every time we turned around it was costing more. They hired subs that were not good and it took probably 2 months longer than it should have. They started construction the day after Christmas last year. They are very creative and come up with some different ideas but I would be very careful about setting a firm budget and making sure the subs they use are good subs. The supervisor, Andrew, was extremely good and I would trust him to do anything. If he was on his own I would hire him. I am a perfectionist. Andrew would answer our calls any time of the day or night. I would interview far more contractors if I were to do any work like this again. They are trying to enter our room in a contest.

Because we so value our clients' experiences, and the creativity and quality that we put into every project, it is disheartening that we left this client less than satisfied. We shared in her disappointment regarding the subcontractors that brought on the problems and issues, and these subcontractors have not worked with our company since. Unfortunately, our best attempts to remedy her issues fell short of winning back her confidence, and for this we apologize for our shortcoming. Regarding craftsmanship or quality, however, I believe she is referring to the issues we faced as the project was underway, not the final result as we left it ... which was judged the Winner in its class at the annual NARI Remodel of the Year competition (photos of this project and more of our award winning work can be found on our web site). On the award program's homeowner survey, our client offered that "We are very satisfied with the new room. CHC had to do a lot to meet our expectations. Example - We had a special [commercial-grade, 1/2" thick] rubberized floor that looked like a gym hardwood. It took them 45 days, 2 sub-floors, and a complete rubberized floor replacement before it met ours and the contractor's standards of excellence." While the time impact of trying to correct the installation flaws and then waiting for a new special order floor certainly dampened the momentum of the project, we did replace the floor and sub-floor without hesitation, and the final results are stunning. We certainly hope that time has helped to heal the pain of the difficult challenges experienced along our journey, and that our client knows that CHC is a company that values the relationships we've built and will willingly and quickly address and correct issues that may arise.

They were excellent. The care they took with every step of the way, it was done in very close communication and everything was done with extremely high quality. I felt very comfortable having them in my home. They weren't happy until I was happy. It was very high quality and professional. I couldn't ask for much more.
Description of Work: They remodeled my kitchen. They also refinished the cabinets, installed new counter tops, laid a new floor, installed lights, and made some adjustments to space.
