Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Kansas City

I had 2 windows that were ordered incorrectly which is understandable everyone makes mistakes. I had another window that was broken during installation. I attempted to contact Champion but the phone would ring but no one would answer during business hours. I finally got ahold of an actual person after several attempts on multiple days. The order was placed on 5/31/24 and I was told 6-8 weeks for delivery. I waited 8 weeks and contacted them again. I was then told 12 weeks and that the plant was running behind. I find this very hard to believe when I placed my original order our windows were installed in 5 weeks. It's been 16 weeks now and still no windows and no response that I was promised at 12 weeks when I was in contact with them the last time. Very disappointing as I was a return customer. My first experience in 2017 was great. This has been horrible to say the least. I hope someone sees this that can make changes.

We had a very bad experience with these folks. Except for the installer/builder I could not even rate one star. Starting with the salesman who over promised things like a finished floor, removal of a concrete pad and the start date. I truly don’t think he knew what he was selling. They were over 30 days late for the start of my sunroom. This is no big deal except when you make this big of a purchase you want the thing now. Once started, the installer was great and did an excellent job. Finishing was another story. “We don’t do floors”, was the answer to my quire on the floor. Unfinished underlayment is not my idea of a quality job. I expected more from Champion. Here again the salesman fell short. The original quote called for a 6-foot deck, suitable for a grill, off the door and a step down to the grade landing. Well, the 6 foot would have placed the railing right in the middle of the door. No one thought..... Getting that extra foot was a chore. Champion finally agreed at no additional cost. The room was built on a raised deck to match the elevation of my back door. This left an exposed under area that needed to be enclosed to keep animals out and make the project look good. I was quoted $950 for this skirting which I turned down. A lot of money for a small job. In the end I think they pulled the installer a day early. The cleanup of the site was minimal. Landscaping was not returned to a preconstruction look. They left piles of rock that I specifically asked to be moved laying where they dug them up. A large electrical conduit that I had used to run a hot tub was left partially buried by the landing concrete and strung all over the landscape. Additionally, there were sone minor electrical raceway finishing touches that needed attention. It's the little things that I thought Champion stood for. Over the course of this build they fired the salesman and the construction manager. Probably a good move. I was now dealing with a regional guy who, with a little understanding and probably two hours of labor, would have made me a happy camper. Instead, I was forced to call repeatedly to get my project closed out. Finally, the regional guy came back with a quote of $2,500 to move the rocks, conduit and install the skirting. I was not happy. I learned today that the building permit is still open and awaiting final inspection. This is from FEBURARY! Not what I expected from Champion!

Would highly recommend using a different company. The windows are windows and the installers they hired were professional and were fine. But I would find a more reputable company to work with. We received quotes from a few companies to replace 4 windows. Choose Champion and paid 1/3 the quote deposit at signing. You have 3 days to cancel after signing and paying to get your money back, otherwise you pay them a large penalty. They sent someone out to measure about a month later, paid another 1/3 the price. Over a month after they measured, 2+ months after we signed the contract, we get a text from Champion saying they charged us too little and we needed to pay them more money or they'd cancel the order. I reread the contract, again if we canceled we pay them, but they had a clause they can cancel at any time and just return your deposits. So they strung out the process only to basically extort us for more money. At this point we paid it vs going back to square one, but I'll tell everyone I know going forward pick another window company.

Champion will talk a great game and then not follow through on their promises. They will not fix anything under warranty as soon as they leave your property. I have been trying to get them to fix things for YEARS. They always put you on hold and try to get you to give up. They tell you it will be months before a repair can be made and then never actually schedule it. An absolutely terrible company with no desire for customer service once they have secured their money. Beware. They advertise that you will have a lifetime guarantee on the exorbitant amount of money you pay them for whatever service they are providing for you, but it is a lie. They will take your money and never fix anything under warranty again.

Sales presentation was informative. Price is competitive. The only less than favorable issue is the wait time for the windows. When they are actually installed can update this review.

They installed a patio door and windows earlier this year and I realize that we had more windows that need to be replaced I called them back because they did a really good job on the first round and one of them to complete the rest of the project.

this was the second time I have had windows and doors done by this company. The first salesman and crew were excellent. But our second interaction was horrible from start to finish. The salesman was pushy and didn’t answer questions very well; most of the time, he would answer the question with the question. I just stopped asking him anything. But the worst part was Aaron, the install manager; he was rude and condescending. He has no business dealing with people. They were supposed to install on 11-23-2020, but he started his workers chose not to come into work because it was cold and might rain. So 15 minutes after our scheduled install time, he called us to tell us this. It never rained, and had Aaron done his job and shown up, and the job could've been completed.

They were going to come out then they enter then they said they would on and on it went. They are VERY expensive higher than anyone else that I contacted so it was a blessing that they never showed up.

The door was delayed for six weeks and they forgot to order it.

I was especially pleased with the installers attention to detail. Caulking done right.

It was just great. The work was done in timely manor. The installers did a great job left the area clean with no mess. I would recommend having Champion do any home improvement that was needed.

It was a awsome experience from the sale to the installation! Howard made sure I new exactly what I was getting and I felt free to ask questions he was not pushy at all and made sure I got what I wanted!

It went great. A few weeks later our neighbors broke one window and they replaced it quickly at no charge.

It was great. Everyone was on time from the moment we had the consultation to installation. I have seen a difference already in how our home has stayed cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Install was great. Installers were friendly, efficient, and respectful of my home. Sales person spoke poorly of a former employee which was unprofessional.

The salesman Howard listened to our need carefully. Instead of selling us an expensive window, he suggested something much more affordable. The install crew encountered some problems, but they took the time and did beautiful work.
