Description of Work: I replaced all the windows in the house and the door to the patio. I choose a more expensive window with the wood grain finish which made the Windows very expensive. I like the ease of cleaning. I am happy with the wood grain finish, it matches my wood work perfectly. The company is very responsive in answering questions or addressing any problems. The warranty is good for life and I have had them out for a minor door adjustment with no issues. My heating and cooling have defintly improved so the engery efficiency is quite good.

Description of Work: Replaced 15 Windows..Went pretty good..They were through within half a day..I had to point a few things out,that they fixed...The prices were the most reasonable around..We will use them again...

Description of Work: Our sales rep failed us. Sold us a custom made dog door but failed to follow up with issues. Seems he did his job selling but then see ya. No customer support after.

Description of Work: they installed windows in home along with 2 doors. the windows were done in a timely manner but i to wait 4 more months for the doors to be installed. the office staff was not notified of discount given because of delay. however i would hire them in the future if i needed more work done. on windows only |

Description of Work: Replaced all the builder grade wood windows in our home with vinyl double hung thermal glass windows that pop out easily to clean. Marvelous job, I am just not completely pleased with the windows. While they do save us energy, they very easily collect dirt in sill. I am constantly wiping them out and cleaning them. Good thing they are easy to clean. We also have a new front door from Champion. Great weather proof door with glazed glass window and dead bolt.

Description of Work: Installation was quick; cleaned up their mess. BUT within two years seven of the windows needed replacement. Took forever, over two months,to get them in. Then one was wrong and they didn't bring a ladder long enough to install one of the windows and asked to store in our garage. Again, took at least two months to get the wrong one replaced and to have a ladder long enough to install.

Description of Work: Install of two sliding doors went well. However they were supposed to do some warranty work on previous room addition which took over a month to get them to do it ... long after the new install.

Description of Work: We had Windows, doors and soffits completed at one time. Very fair on price workmanship excellent, cleanup excellent. Could not have asked for anything more. We would use Champion again and would highly recommend them. So very pleased

Description of Work: Champion replaced 6 windows for me. They were on time, professional and provided quality workmanship.

Description of Work: I had my 4 front windows replaced. All of my windows have the "panes" built into the middle of the glass. One window is a big picture window. This window was replaced with a fixed middle window, and the outer windows are casement crank out windows. Same as the original window. I am most pleased with how this window turned out. Since I never got to see this window in person, I was quite hesitant. The salesman kept trying to talk me out of this option? Not sure why. Especially since this window was quite a bit more. But I do not like picture windows, with the double hung options on the sides. This option would not stay true to the style of my Cape Cod ranch. The other windows were double hung windows in my kitchen. Smaller window over my sink, and side by side double hungs where my kitchen table sits. Look very similar to the original windows. | | The installers were not from Champion. They were contracted installers. A father and son team. Very pleasant. But the father seemed a little lazy. The son seemed to do the majority of the work. My old picture window was metal. I had been warned in the past that they can be tricky to take out. This proved to be the case. But after some picture taking, phone calls, and a trip to talk to the Champion team, they were finally able to get the window out. It was quite the production to watch. Sparks were flying! Ended up in 4 different pieces. Also did some damage to my interior molding, and I seem to now have a hairline crack in my wall as well? The other windows were out, and replaced in no time. It ended up an all day affair. If the big window had not been such a production, I think they would have been done by 3. But it was getting dark by the time they left. | | I had my back and side windows replaced by Champion a couple of year's ago. I have been very happy with them so far. They did however, use crappy caulk that attracts dirt. They have since supposedly changed the caulk they use to alleviate this problem. Time will tell. They also re-caulked my older windows with the newer caulk. However, they just went over the old caulk, so I'm not sure how this will hold up to the dirt. Time will tell. But they do seem to be very responsive to questions, concerns, etc.

Description of Work: We love our 9 new replacement windows and sunroom now that they are done but getting there took a battle with Champion and complaining to salesmen, managers, head of project men, and installers. April 4, 2014 the contract was signed and deposit made. Completion, sign off and final payment was August 27, 2014. The first 7 windows were started in about 2 months. We were happy with the installer. My husband called the office to compliment him. He did a great job, very friendly and professional. But one window came in swinging the wrong direction and our big front picture window had a vertical gold strip, 1 inch wide down the middle and the two sliders beside it had the same size strip in white. The windows were to be grid free. The installer said he had never seen anything like that before but if he could go ahead and install it that changing out the actual windows would be a simple process if the frames were in and they would put a rush on the 4 windows that were made incorrectly so we agreed. Those windows never showed up for months. It was like no one at the office knew how to get that corrected and the right windows in. They literally would just wag their heads and shrug their shoulders. My husband was here, because he is retired, throughout all the project and construction. Not many people have the time and energy required by my husband that it took to get to this point. Sunroom windows came from the factory with gasketing around windows cut too short, gapping up to 1/2 inch. Wall materials made for our projects arrived unprotected during shipment and dented and scratched and they acted like they could do nothing about it until we refused to pay if they didn't. We had expected possibly May or June for the sunroom to get started but Champion did not even contact us for a start date until we started hounding them in mid June to get some answers. Then it was not until after July 4th that a permit was obtained only after my husband contacted the county to find out what the holdup was. Champion would say they had a permit and that they would be here to start. They would not show up and then would say there was a problem with the permit. Come to find out the county had told them the permit would be granted when an engineer signed off on the project plans. That took another week. Then another week to get product delivered to sit in out yard until they got started. We could go on and on but I think you have the idea. We have pictures to back our claims. After weeks of back and forth we finally got everything acceptable. From the factory products appeared to go through no quality control. Managers and lead men didn't communicate well at all. A lead man didn't even know how to reinstall the window gasketing they were sent to replace. My husband had to work with him to get that started. The actual installers did a decent job. From sales to getting the permit to materials, to installation nothing went smooth. We tried to be patient until it got to be ridiculous. We are so glad to be done with Champion and love our finished products but will never get anything from them again. We just hope that nothing goes wrong under their warranty or we can't imagine how that would go. We chose Champion (before we had this Angie's list resource) from professional looking commercials on TV. We expected a quality product and service that Champion did not provide.

Description of Work: The windows maybe fabulous, but the customer service was lacking. We started the process in Sept and it wasn't finished until January. After the salesman initial visit that was the last we saw of him. The workmen were professional and on time. Unfortunately one of the panes of glass was broken. They went ahead and installed it. Then they forgot about us until January. I would have given my 7000.00 to a different company.

Description of Work: I contracted for new windows and siding for my home. The contractor and crew for the windows came and put the windows in. They were on time, and knew what they were doing and worked efficiently. There was something about the wrapping the windows under the eves they would not be able to do because the windows came up to the edge of the eve. They said the group who would do the siding would do that. The crew for the siding came and also were on time and worked efficiently. They also knew what they were doing. They were also unhappy that the windows had not been wrapped but did the work. I felt like I was in the middle but there was nothing I could do or say. Both sets of workers kept me informed about the work and how it was going. I am pleased with the windows and siding. I believe the house stayed cooler this summer. I couldn't tell much difference last winter because we had a mild winter.
