The main drain to my house was clogged. I contacted Anthony's and they came out the next day at the time they had stated. The technician was very professional and very knowledgeable. He completed the job quickly and even gave me some pointers as to do's and don'ts with the drain.

See above. I purchased and installed the fan motor for less than one quarter of the price they quoted. We have used Anthony several times in the past with good results. In this case, I was sure the price for the motor was too high.

UPDATED REVIEW: Within minutes of submitting the below review, I received a call from someone checking on my level of satisfaction. After repeating my concerns, I was transferred to their Operations Manager, who agreed to send the senior master plumber out to root & scope our drain at no additional charge. Although he was scheduled to arrive at 3pm, they called at 1pm to ask if I was at home and ready. Ed arrived shortly thereafter. He wore booties when he walked on through our living space and took them off in the basement. He used floor protection, was exceptionally professional, and cleaned up when he was finished. He worked for a VERY long time to clear our drain, and got farther than the first plumber who was sent. When he was finished, he clearly discussed our options and the cause of the problems. Although he was unable to completely fix the problem, I was more than satisfied with the explanation & suggestions for best next steps. I am not sure i I will hire them again, I give kudos for willingness to make the situation right and Ed's exemplary professionalism. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Kevin arrived and showed me their standard pricing for rooting the line and, as I did not know what the going rate for such a service was, I agreed. He proceeded to walk across our entire entry, living room and kitchen floors (without booties or floor protection--tracking dirty sewage through our home) and damaging the top stair on our newly finished wood floors. He told us that he was unable to clean the drain fully and that we would need to have the drain scoped at an additional, highly priced fee. Less than a week later, I smelled sewer gas at the basement stairs and found that, when the cap to the main stack was replaced, it was over-tightened and the seal cracked. Sewage was leaking from the stack onto the floor. We called Anthony the next morning and Kevin came back late that day to replace the cap. Meanwhile, we were forced to refrain from using our plumbing for the day. Now, less than two weeks after the original service, we have sewage backing up again. I have since learned that the $310 + trip charge $89 - Angie's List coupon $40 should have been more than enough to have the drain rooted and scoped at once. And bids from more than one reputable plumber in the area back verify this. We have contacted Anthony to complain about the price and the quality of service, but seem to be getting push-back. They tell us that the reason their prices are so high is because they guarantee that their employees are drug-free and professional. Honestly, their idea of professionalism thus far leaves much to be desired.

I came home to discover our water heater had finally quit. I called Anthony Plumbing Heating and Cooling at 6:30 in the evening and was pleasantly surprised to have a live body answer my call. The lady I spoke with was very courteous and professional. I explained our situation (no hot water) and she asked if we wanted to repair or replace the water heater, I said to replace it. She said she had a technician available and could dispatch him right away. Jerry called me within about 10 minutes and said he'd be at my house by 7:30p (it was 6:45 and he had to go get an electric water heater for us at the warehouse). He arrived at my house at 7:30 and was finished installing, cleaning up and hauling away the old water heater by 9 o'clock and by 9:30p I had hot water again. With response time and punctuality like this, I will use them again. You can trust them with your house keys!

I woke up this morning to a very cold home. My furnace has stopped for some reason. It is Sunday, so I know I have to find emergency service. I called & left a message with the answering service at 8am. At 9am, I still had not heard a word from anyone. So I chose someone else from Angie's List. Left a message with answering service. Within 2 minutes -literally, I got a phone call back from that other company. They are on their way now. It has been almost 90 minutes & I have yet to even receive a return call. They will not get any of my business. Unsure why they have such good reviews here.

I highly recommend them. They were on time and very courteous.

We called around 3:00 and Kevin came a couple of hours later. He completed the repair quickly which was nice but also made it harder to part with this much money for an unplanned expense. Since this was an emergency repair we couldn't really price shop but he showed us the price on a price list before performing the work so I know that's the price anyone would pay. We did get the Angie's List discount on the service call and the work is guaranteed for a year. The valve developed an extremely small leak after he left (just damp to the touch, no dripping). I called and scheduled a follow up visit but then realized the leak had stopped so we cancelled. Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely consider this company again for future work.

I have had several HVAC Companies perform this type of service in the past, and I find that this Company did about the same grade of service; not much. If you ask me if it is worth while to have this service performed on and annual basis, whether it is in the Spring for AC or in the Fall for heating, I believe it is a big rip off! The actual service preformed is minimal, and if your system is working OK when you turn it on, you can afford to replace your own air filters much cheaper! This is my own personal option. The Technician was a nice man, and he did perform his job as described.

Had a water leak from my second floor that was coming through the 1st floor ceiling. He walked in and quickly accessed the situation. He had the water leaked fixed within minutes. It was a loose fitting on one the upstairs toilet tanks. To make sure that it wouldn't happen with any of my other bathrooms he checked them, and made adjustments as needed.

Furnace wouldn't run. Unfortunately, it started working before the tech got there. However, the tech explained to me how the furnace worked and what I should take note of if the problem comes back so that it can be diagnosed. He also gave me a few minor maintenance suggestions that I was comfortable handling myself.

They are very professional, friendly, and knowledgable. They explain everything thoroughly and their follow up is excellent. I would highly recommend them to others.

I had purchased an Angie's Big Deal for 2 furnaces and had only used one. Some time had passed but Anthony's honored the second one and came out and tuned up the furnace. I assume they did a thorough job and they had recommendations and comments about the furnace itself. They were pleasant and professional.

Matt really seemed to know plumbing. He was pleasant to have working here, and he was perfect about warning me when he was going to have to shut the water off. He tried to minimize that inconvenience as much as possible, which is something I really appreciate. When we first showed Matt what are minor indoor plumbing woes were, he immediately suspected that our house was suffering from excessive water pressure, which evidently is a common problem in Lee's Summit. Matt checked our water pressure and discovered it was about 50 psi too high. So, our job suddenly included the time consuming correction of the pressure regulation. We had to have it done, too, because the excessive pressure had created the constantly running toilet in our bathroom. And, as Matt explained, the toilet was basically a water bomb biding its time before explosion. (Think how much time, trouble, and money that would have cost to repair.) Matt originally had come to fix our short list of minor problems on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. On Tuesday he managed to have enough time to save us from the big plumbing disaster. Matt then managed to squeeze us into the schedule for the next day, too, so our plumbing problems would be corrected before I cooked Thanksgiving dinner. We did not know we had a serious problem; we only noticed some of the symptoms. I am relieved that Matt caught our problem before it became a huge problem.

The service was excellent. The plumber that installed it was very informative and he gave us a lot of information on the water pressure and equipment we would need in the future that I was not aware of.

Everyone was nice and the visit and diagnosis went fine. They were able to get the blower motor to work temporarily while we researched a replacement system. We told them that we found them on Angie's List and mentioned the 1/2 price service call, but they charged us the full amount for the call. They said they would apply the amount to the repair, but they recommended that we replace the system. Anthony's quotes for replacing the system were the highest of the five quotes that we received from different companies and we decided to go with another company for replacement of the furnace. We were not able to apply the amount of the service call to the installation because we went with another company. The experience was nice, but we called because we had the Angie's list discount. We would recommend considering them as their service is good, but make sure the bill amount is mutually agreed upon. UPDATE: Anthony did refund part of our service very quickly. Thank you! I'm glad that Anthony Plumbing Heating and Cooling took the time to explain the biggest problem with quoting Heating and Cooling systems: You cannot compare quotes easily on new equipment purchases. This turns out to be a competitive advantage for companies with the best sales teams. Whoever can sell you the best on whatever system they are selling you, wins. Anthony Heating and Cooling had the best sales person of all of the people that came to give us a quote. They had the most thorough sales process by far. I spent a lot of time doing my research and made the best decision that I could. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the system that I have. It's by far the best system I've used in any of the 10 houses I've lived in. Here are the three tips I would give to someone shopping around: 1. The proper installation of properly sized equipment is more important than anything else. If you have any indication that the company will not properly install the equipment, RUN don't walk away from their proposal. 2. With the exception of a few expensive to service or hard to clean units, many of the HVAC units are all the same in the same efficiency class (i.e. 80%, 93% etc). Many of the negative reviews about equipment seemed to come from poor installation. I'd say it's pretty hard to buy the wrong equipment if you get it installed properly. 3. Ask lots of questions. Do not proceed until you feel like your concerns are addressed. Two of the five companies that I spoke with included variable speed blowers which due to the way my duct system is would not have helped in my house. If the salesman cannot answer your question, ask that an installer or technician come out. I'm positive Anthony heating and plumbing is a great installer and are willing to answer questions at length. If you are in the market for a new HVAC system, you should definitely have them give you a quote.
