Description of Work: They did a bathroom remodel. The serviceman, Bryan, brought my bathroom from the 70's to 2016. The floor is beautiful, the framing of the mirror looks great.

Description of Work: Replaced a small portion of a wall on the garage and painted it. Good. No follow up.

Description of Work: Tony remodeled a bathroom-demo; reconstructed some walls: retiled floor and shower; installed vanity and sink. He is great! Always showed up early, ran everything by me, made great suggestions about best way to proceed, etc. I would highly recommend Handyman Matters and Tony!

Description of Work: We've used HM extensively over the past 3 years for a huge variety of work we needed done around the house. Most recently, they came out to give us a quote on some basement storage. While we decided not to do that project, we would absolutely use HM again based on our previous experiences with them.

Description of Work: Handyman Matters did a 5400 sq foot interior paint job, with lots of child wear and tear on the drywall repairs. The bid was mid range, they kept adding and adding charges for work i was told came with the paint job. this was by far, the worst experience I've ever had with home improvement. They took 5 weeks, i paid $8k over estimate, and got one, yes one, coat of paint. I'm going to have to do another few coats myself. No killz/primer, and the paint is not family friendly as promised. One wipe down and the paint is gone. This was a huge job, and i was taken advantage. | |However, the craftsmen were good,fair and professional. | |But the lead painter, who's wife owns the business/franchise...had only one helper, took 5 weeks and then had to be called back for VERY noticeable missed areas. No tape was used, and his hand was not steady enough to utilize that technique. He made me feel uncomfortable, he was odd, chatty, lazy, and very unprofessional. These 2 painter men came in and out of our home as they pleased, some days going to Lowe's 3 times, and worked very slowly. I have lost faith in the "untouched" consumer reviews, bc no one would rate this company #1.

Description of Work: They replaced an exhaust fan in the bathroom with a combination light/fan/heater unit that I had purchased previously, which required running a dedicated circuit, and also a new exhaust fan in the kitchen. I was pleased with the quality of the installation. There was some obvious tension between members of the crew during the process which didn't bother me, but I didn't think it was very professional. The work required them to do some wiring in the attic, and as they were finishing up the project, I requested that they make sure that they spread the insulation back over the plumbing up there. I had problems after a different contractor did work up there with pipes freezing. (After that experience, I added more insulation which took care of the problem.) The younger members of the crew assured me that they had spread the insulation back out. On a very cold December night my pipes froze, and I went up in the attic to discover that some roll type insulation that I had put up there was thrown off to the side, and there was only an inch of insulation over some of my pipes. Fortunately they didn't burst, but I was not happy. I think the crew leader should have gone up to inspect the work of the younger guys.

Ron, the service provider, apparently had some personal issues at his home which resulted in his leaving and returning several times. But, he did get the work done in a single day.

Description of Work: The screen was replaced in one of my deck doors. The repair went well and I am very satisfied with the work done.

Description of Work: They spackled and painted two bedrooms. These rooms were in pretty bad shape and they did an excellent job of the work. The rooms look fantastic! Steve was very helpful in making paint suggestions and in communicating with me throughout the day. I would use them again in a minute!

Description of Work: I used HandyMan Matters to do some refurbishing after suffering a house fire. They basically remodeled my master bathroom and repainted the master bedroom. The owner of the company came out to look at what needed to be done and write up an estimate. She was very courteous, punctual and professional. The company was very accommodating when I needed to update or add on to the work that needed to be done. All work was performed to specification, on time, and on budget. There was a small oversight on finishing work related to a missed communication between the two different work crews that were out at my house, but when this was brought to the attention of the office staff they promptly scheduled an employee to come out and do the work. The workers that I dealt with while the job was underway were all very friendly and professional. And most importantly they performed quality work. I have a laundry list of other home projects that need to be done, and I plan on using HandyMan Matters to complete all of them. I'm also very quick to recommend this company when I hear that friends, family or coworkers need to undertake a home improvement project. Kudos to HandyMan Matters. I look forward to working with you again.

Description of Work: Originally I contracted with Handyman Matters to replace the original bathroom exhaust fans with new Panasonic exhaust fans which I had purchased from Amazon.com (3 exhaust fans total). A crew of 3 people showed up including an older man and two younger men. Initially I thought that all went well. Ironically the following day I was up in the attic crawl space with an insulation contractor whereby I noticed the truly awful job performed by one of the master bathroom exhaust fan installers. They had disconnected the exhaust line from the vent in the house exterior siding and they had thrown the old exhaust fan through the ceiling letting it lie in insulation. The new exhaust fan installed was not connected to anything. To make matters worse as luck would have it overnight we had a spring storm with strong winds and which drove rain into the crawl space where it never should have been in the first place. Besides the shoddy workmanship which was passed off as "installed perfectly". What really makes me angry is that I had only gone up in the attic crawl space for the first time ever the following morning. How much damage would have occurred had I not been up there heaven only knows. | |After repeated trips they (Handyman Matters) did correct the exhaust tubing, and replace the venting on the side of the house which was damaged by the exhaust fan which was thrown at it. The owner of the business apologized profusely. | |A couple weeks later we used "Mark" from HandyMan Matters to install ceramic tile in a laundry room which we had renovated. Mark did an awesome job tiling the laundry room which ran about $1200 in labor. | |So I had markedly different experiences from different people at this company one experience was outstanding and one experience was a nightmare. | |I think this was an accurate description of events. | |
