He also readjusted a toilet's water intake and told me how to fix it myself if I had a problem in the future. I will definitely use him again.

I called the company 2 times the following week and asked for the person giving the estimate to call me. I have not heard from them. Needless to say I am not going to be using this company.
Description of Work: I was looking for someone to repair 2 celings, to repair grout in a shower, tile a laundry room, paint an entry hall and hallway. I also wnted a quote to take down the popcorn ceiling throughout the house.

 + 6 moreMarc worked on the bathroom. He is a very hard worker, he did a great job. He offered suggestions and kept me up to date on each step and cleaned up and moved the trash to the curb for pickup. Chris installed the ceiling fan, also a good worker. I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Install bathroom vanity, top and faucet, remove built in medicine cabinet, install new toilet, install ceramic floor tile, patch and fix sheet rock where medicine cabinet existed and repair walls from a difficult wallpaper removal. Also had them replace a bedroom ceiling fan.

 + 1 moreGreat. I was in a panic because they had delivered a refrigerator and then it was a bit too large. So I took off the trim and managed to get it in but then the doors wouldn't open. I was in a panic to get everything put back together and the new smaller refrigerator was delivered. It was raining so they sent someone right over since an outdoor job had been cancelled. He help me get the refrigerator unstuck, put the trim back and fixed two doors that wouldn't shut correctly. He was a life savor and I had had quite the week moving in coordinating movers, delivery guys and carpenters.

 + 1 moreWe had a leak under our sink, coming from our sprayer. We also needed to have damage repaired around a few of our windows caused by leaks from the winter. He repaired the drywall, though he did miss a few spots that we had to go back and do ourselves. He also replaced our sprayer for the kitchen sink. This is where things got a little hairy... and I honestly am not sure how to rate my experience. i'll tell you what happened and you can decide for yourself. As he was replacing the sprayer, he had some trouble with some of the pipes under the sink. He said things were so rusty down there that things were fused together. After a long time of really struggling with it, he finally got the sprayer installed, but in the meantime more damage was done. Our sink was leaking worse than ever. Now the leak was coming from under the faucet. He said that now the faucet would need to be replaced, and possibly the entire sink since the rust was so bad. He was honest, and he said that if he did it it would end up being way more expensive. And, honestly, he didn't seem too confident about his ability to do it. So, I had him stop, and I called in a plumber to finish the job. The plumber did replace the faucet, and he didn't have any trouble getting it out. I do appreciate his honesty in telling us that we might want to have a plumber do it, and I'm very glad that we did. He quoted us over $300 in addition to what we were already spending. The plumber only charged $95. The cost to repair the drywall (just filled it in with putty and sanded it down), was way more expensive than we expected. He did do a good job though. Also, both times that he came out (once to give a quote, the next time to do the work) he was an hour early! I'm glad he wasn't late, but at the same time, having someone show up an hour early can also upset your schedule!

 + 0 moreReceived an estimate in a very timely manner. Individual was professional and had no issues with the job duties. Estimate was fair and was estimated a 4 hour job. I did have to call and extend the concrete repair to under the step so there was solid ground under that step. Same person who presented the initial bid said it would be minimal if not the same bid. Work was very good. The additional cost for the concrete under the step increased the bid substantially. Job did take additional time as worker had to leave to get additional supplies for the repair that we discussed in advance and to do the additional concrete repair.
Description of Work: repair concrete from deck reconfiguration, add concrete under the bottom step and repair/replace loose tiles. Bid $375

 + 5 moreWe first met with Laurel at our house to go over what we were hoping to have done. She was very professional and courteous. The estimates were emailed to us the very next day. They were very reasonable. We scheduled for them to come out and fix four things for us: a leaking chimney, a broken faucet, a broken electrical outlet and to install a ceiling fan in our living room. The actual repairs were done by Brendon. He arrived right on time and was wonderful. Everything was done perfectly and in record time. Our final cost was considerably less than what the estimated price was. We couldn't be happier. We will definitely be calling them again soon to work on some more of our "to do" list!
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in our chimney flashing and patched some drywall that had some water damage, installed a new kitchen faucet, fixed an electrical outlet, and lastly installed a ceiling fan in our living room.

Description of Work: This was my second call for assistance. The first call was expertly completed on time and meet all expectations. There were several misc. small jobs I needed completed around the house. Swapping out light switches, replacing a small section of facia board on the house... The second visit actually involved helping open the pool for the spring and helping with other small tasks. I will certainly call again in the near future.

It went very well, with delays only caused by waiting for the Prairie Village code enforcement guy (who was also very helpful) to come to approve periodically. He knew I had serious pain problems with climbing stairs so was very responsive. I can't think of any problems to relate. Because of my back problems, Marc constructed and tiled a platform to raise the washer and dryer to a level that kept me from bending over. I now can just open them and toss things in without bending over. A big plus for my arthritis in my back.
Description of Work: I couldn't have been happier with this contractor. I have had a lot of work done in the past and this company surpassed them all . I thanked myself every day for selecting them. You won't be sorry if you hire Marc and Lory, his boss. Marc Graham did most of the work with a master plumber, master electrician, a painter, and an excellent helper who worked with him on some of the project. What I had done was extend my kitchen into the southern 1/4 of my garage. Marc fully insulated it, actually made it into another room off my kitchen, door added, installed vents for heating it, moved my freezer, washer and dryer, large cabinet into the room so I wouldn't have to walk up and down those steep steps into the basement to do my laundry, etc. Marc installed a cabinet with basin in it so I could wash my poodle without having to take her downstairs. He installed a west window above my freezer and put a platform there so my cats could be more comfortable looking out over my Red Baron Crabapple tree to see all the wildlife activity. That was his idea. He loves cats and dogs. My dog, Lily, loved him and rushed to him every time he came in. He enjoyed playing with her. He made several excellent suggestions with regard to the paint color, floor tiles he installed, and was careful to communicate with me every step of the way to be sure that all met with my approval. He worked with Prairie Village code enforcement very amicably, installed more smoke detectors they recommended and didn't charge me for putting them in. What a guy!. I have had floor tiles installed before, in my kitchen, bathrooms, but never have I had such care and workmanship on the tile he installed in my new laundry-pantry room. He and the other workmen cleaned up every day and kept the inescapable dust to a minimum. They were careful to be as unobtrusive as possible. My life was not interrupted at all while they worked. I did make coffee every day as Marc was an avid coffee drinker. In short, hire these folks and you will be happy with the work, the price and the attitude Marc exhibits.

I would heartily recommend this company to friends and enemies alike. The pricing was very fair and the work was outstanding. We are preparing to sell our house. As a result we had a number of items that needed repair before we could put our house on the market Todd fixed our deck to the point that it looked like new for pennies on the dollar. He went on to repair the tile in our kitchen and repair puppy damage to the drywall in our basement (large puppy). Marc made old, damaged casement windows look like new. Over all, I couldn't be happier. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Laurel's husband Steve at The Neighborhood Painter. He painted our Master Suite at less than half the price of other local painters and his work was fantastic.
Description of Work: They provided a wide array of services for me, including deck repair, tile work, dry wall, repairing damage from a large and wonderful puppy, window repair repair at 1/3 the cost of new windows, and power washing a side of my house that is over three stories high that few other people would touch.,

 + 0 moreWe had issues with our siding, which was essentially falling apart in several places, one of which was severe enough to cause water intrusion in our master bedroom. Lead craftsman Mark came over and gave us an estimate of $1300, but as work progressed the siding issues were found to be more severe. He promptly notified us of the severity of the issues, so it was no surprise when he stated the cost would be about $3000. We authorized the work to be performed, and he and his crew did a great job and in a short amount of time. He also repaired a hole in our chimney caused by a woodpecker. Overall, we have been pleased with Handyman Matters, and the courteous and professional service from Mark and Lori.

It was a big mess and they had water coming into the house. The guy from Handyman Matters was exceptional and very responsive. He came out a couple of times. He wasn't able to get on the roof since the weather was not cooperating and he made another trip for that. Then, it was like they just dropped off the grid. I think the guy's father had to have open heart surgery or something and he had to go out of town. My son tried contacting him again and told him that he wanted to give him the business, but they just dropped off the grid and we wound up going with somebody else.
