Handyman Matters of Johnson County did a fine job. It was not perfect but it was acceptable. The job lasted longer than expected but they kept in communication with me. I did not think the price was bad but I did not compare it.

Very well. This was a sliding glass door that had stopped closing properly. I believe the craftsman had to build a part. My regular home improvement company were unable to fix this large exit door for a walkout basement.

I had partially framed my basement to add two new home offices and a hallway. Then, I was in a car accident and couldn't complete the work. So, I checked on Angie's List, read the references for Handyman Matters and chose them from all others to get an estimate. Laurie Thompson (owner) met me at the house the day after I phoned. I felt very confident in the abilities of her company after quite a lengthy conversation and showing her what I wanted done. The following day I received an estimate from Handyman Matters by e-mail. I was quite surprised at how reasonable it was so, I phoned Laurie. She met me again at the house and I agreed to have Handyman Matters do the work. I was so comfortable with Laurie that I gave her a key to my home so she and the workman could move forward while I was away.The job included completing the framing, electrical, drywalling and finshing all surfaces to be ready for paint. At Laurie's suggestion they even leveled the ceiling joists to accept drywall instead of the drop ceiling that I had planned to have installed. This alone saved my about $500 on the project and the quality is top notch. During the project Handyman Matters even met with the city inspectors on my behalf. Any modifications that had to be made were discussed with me and Handyman Matters handled these changes at little cost to keep the project within my budget. Also, during the construction, the craftsmen would phone me directly if they had any questions as to my preferences and I felt the entire working relationship was great. In the end, I had a couple of minor adjustments and with a single phone call to Laurie Thompson they were handled immediately. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone that wants a quality job at a reasonable price. I would also say that in this type of work,communication is very important to get what you're after. Handyman Matters is very good and very professional at communication as well as their construction.

They were fine. We weren't advised about a trip charge and weren't told about it until they were preparing the final billing. We probably won't use them again

As a first time female home owner in a new location, I turned to Angie's List to find a contractor to help with projects that were over my head (wood rot and dry wall damage) and others that were simple enough, but I had no idea how to do, (change faucets and shower heads). The friendly staff at Handyman Matters turned this intimidating process into a pleasant, painless,and learning experience for me. It all started with just ONE phone call to Holly who explained the company's policies throughly and patiently. I had called other companies that offer "free estimates," but when asked for details, most have conditions attached. Though, in our phone call, Holly reassured me that Handyman Matters estimates are free - nothing hidden. Two days later, Laurel showed up, prepared, knowledgable, and very generous with her time. During the detailed examination of my current projects, Laurel took the time to address future projects and even provided me with valuable information on how to approach those later. Once the examination was complete, Laurel explained which repairs were necessary, presented me with my options, and then left without pressuring me into choosing Handyman Matters. Laurel's bid was e-mailed early the next morning and after seeing it, I called to make an appointment. A few days later, Chris and Cody, the craftsmen, were in my home to do the repairs. They, also, showed up with a focused, professional, and approachable attitude. They encouraged questions and took the time to informatively, yet patiently, answer every one that I threw at them. Despite my interruptions, they did a professional job in a timely manner. I also greatly appreciate their attention to the "extras" that others often consider beyond the job contract. For instance, they checked and rechecked their work, painted the repaired areas, took precautions to keep from scratching the floors, walls, and new fixtures. They even cleaned up!

I had 2 estimates done and I decided to go with another company because they were going to do a little more of what I wanted done. They don’t do countertops and stuff like that, but they were responsive, punctual and professional. I probably would consider them again for an estimate in the future.

Very responsive, punctual and meticulous in the work. The work was accomplished with alot of attention to detail which was greatly appreciated. Price was given up front, and final price did not exceed the estimate. Highly recommend this company! Will definitely use them again for other household repairs.

He was a nice guy, but was about a half hour late. He seemed very knowledgable about the work to be done and did a good job. However, he had to leave twice to get materials. We have had this company twice now. Both times they sent two different people. They both liked to visit. I wouldn't mind a friendly service person but they charge by the hour. This visiting was a little too much to be paying for.

They were timely and they seem to be pretty efficient with their time. They are a bit pricey and all their reviews on Angies List indicated that. So we understood that and we just wanted good quality job. At the end of the day that is what we got. We actually had one of the drains that they replaced, as part of the fixture replacement started leaking. I called them and mentioned it to them. They immediately responded. As a matter of fact they actually got out and replaced the drain. They ran over to the local hardware store, picked another drain up, came back and installed it. So they were very conscientious of their work. I will use this provider in the future.

Their price was reasonable for the work they did. They were prompt, efficient, and professional. We were very pleased with their service.

They are prompt. They are well known locally. They do everything. They can remodel kitchen and do dry wall. They pretty much do everything. The guys they send over are quite knowledgeable. They are good. In terms of responsivenes, they came right out. I would use their services later to complete the work.

We were very pleased. They helped with putting the room together to the best advantage with ideas I had not thought of and helped make the room appropriate for it's intended use. I was extremely happy with the price too. I did not know what to expect, but did know what others had paid for the same type of service and did have a maximum I was willing to spend. Handyman Matters came in 20% less than that figure. The owner and supervisor were both very intent on our being pleased with the outcome.

We hired HandyMan Matters initially to help fix some window trim boards on our house. Of all of the contractors we requested estimates from, HandyMan Matters was the best in terms of cost, but also in responsiveness and quality of work. I called the number and was able to get someone out the same week to provide the estimate and also do the work. Later, we decided to finish our basement, and had included HandyMan Matters in our list of contractors that bid the job. Unlike the other contractors who basically told us for our budget we could not do anything, HandyMan Matters worked with us on what was possible with our budget (27k) and came up with a plan that met our design needs. Denny and Marc were the tradesmen that did the remodel and I could not be more happy with their know-how and quality of work. During the job assessment, they pointed out several issues we had with our home that needed correction, things that they could have left as is. They stressed quality at every stage of the process, and made sure to keep us informed of what they were doing to ensure what was getting built was inline with our design. I felt very informed throughout the build process. There were a few stages during the build process where I did not communicate effectively on the design, but it did not impact the work. Handyman Matters backed up their work and really showed that they cared about the quality of the job outcome and our satisfaction. All said - we were very pleased with HandyMan Matters - so much that we will continue to hire them for future jobs.

Not happy with the scheduling or communication.

Everything went very well. Each scheduled work day the crew arrived on time, usually early, in clean uniforms and a pleasant greeting. They were invisible in my home, always leaving their area clean. Between the recent birth of our grand daughter and death of my father, we'd run out of time to complete a project we started. Happily Handyman Matters took over our "mess" and made it right again.

Laural and mark came out for inspections. listened to me. explained problems they saw and when additional problems were revealed-meaning additional damage that had to be repaired, we talked and the matter was handled. basically this large addition that was added on by original owner has been redone and brought up to code and more importantly to my satisfaction after years of trying to get repairs done that were needed. I will certainly use them againthey are completely insured and certified. Laural is very knowligible and maintains high standards for her workman

I submitted my detailed request to Handyman Matters via Angie's List on May 18. I received a reply on May 19. We scheduled the work and had it completed by May 26. Quick and reliable. The only reason I gave them a B on pricing was because they are rather pricey. However, their responsiveness and success in completing jobs I could not get anyone else to complete made them a good investment and worth the extra money.

I had a section of old privacy fence that needed tearing down. He did a good job and left a certain post and wooden plank intact, per my instructions. He stacked the old boards neatly at the curb so I could call the trash service for a large pick up. This was Handyman Matters suggestion since it would save me a lot of money as opposed to them hauling it off. I appreciated the advice. He even filled up the post holes with soil, saving me the trouble and expense. Handyman Matters is a great company and I've had good experiences with their workers.
