It went good. He was very friendly.

They know how to make sure that your basement is going to pass all the inspection. They are very good at construction of the basement. They were punctual. The people that they got to do the actual framing and things like that that we had and that would be drywaller and they had to get somebody in to fix the mess that had been made by the drywaller that they used. Because they are contractors, so they contracted a company to come out and do it, and they didn't do such a great job so they had to get somebody else to do it. So, they are very good at doing the construction wise but the contractor that they hired were not so good that they cleaned up the mess. They got the things fixed right. Some of their finish work wasn't up to the way we thought it should have been. So, we had to kind of stay on them and make sure that the finish work got done right. But overall, we are happy with the finished product. The toilet lid in our bathroom was broken; it was slightly cracked and broken when they put it in. And they never come back out and fixed it. They kept telling us that they were ordering a new lid and we never gotten one. I mean, that's not very professional. Drywallers made a big mess, the dust got all over our house. They did bring in a housekeeper. A lady that was a house cleaner and they did have our house cleaned for us, to get all the dust out, because it was their fault that happened. And it was just a mess. The design on one of the spindle was upside down and we had to complain to get them to come out and fix it. We actually complained because they didn't sand the drywall really good before painting it. And so there was patterns in the drywall in certain areas. And we brought in our painter and had him repaint everything and made them pay him, because their painter was not good. And we had to have our own painter come in and do it. They broke our alarm system and then they had to come out and fix our brand-new alarm system that we had just had installed.

So far everything has been great. We have been extremely satisfied.

Just moved into a home that needed some updating. Found Handyman Matters on Angie's List. It went great. Marc does amazing work. He can do virtually anything. We had my varied tasks and probably only tapped a fraction of his skill base. Marc is a perfectionist. He is very committed to making sure the customer is satisfied. The tasks ranged from simple to complex; he did all of them with high quality. Along the way, Marc repeatedly introduced creative ideas that made for a better outcome. He takes input well if you want to tune the scope. He's enjoyable to work with because he has a sense of humor if the customer likes to banter a bit. We would highly recommend Marc and will clearly use him again. He's an 11 on a 10 scale.

The work is ongoing, and the company is continuing to guide us through the process of filing insurance claims, working with the roofing company, and supporting us like we were family!!

They were so supportive and provided a great experience working in our home. I cannot say enough but would recommend them to anyone.

Mark with Handyman Matters replaced my hall bath tub surround (all new tile, plumbing, wallboard, insulation...everything). He even met me at Lowe's one night before the project began to help me pick out new shower/tub faucets--so I would buy the right thing. He also picked up the supplies so I didn't have to haul or lift a bunch of heavy stuff. I really like the finished project, and the only thing I would have changed was the fact that I didn't see a contract prior to work beginning...we did this on a "handshake," and he lived up to the "handshake," but I thought hauling off all the debris would be a part of the price. I wasn't happy when I found out I was responsible for hauling it off...since I missed the 24 hour advance notice to have it hauled off by city trash. Anyway, he saw how upset I was and he said, "We'll do it...we'll haul it off." I liked that--and he didn't pad the price! Another thing I might mention is the amount of "mess" that was created with my project. I had lots of sheet-rock dust to clean up (off mirror, sinks, and floor. The tile also had to be wiped down and cleaned after "setting" for 3 days. That was a big job! I spent two hours cleaning up...but it sure looks great now! If I were much older...this "clean-up" would have had to been included into the price as well...I mean literally on my hands and knees wiping walls, floors, tiles...lots of work! Overall it was a good experience. Mark is very efficient, takes pride in his work. Was fun to work with...a very straightforward no nonsense guy! He had his college-aged son helping him on the project...and I thought that was great...his son will have skills that most young men his age don't. I would use Mark again from Handyman matters.

The team called ahead and said they would arrive after they finish lunch. They arrived on time per the appt. I asked them if they needed anything and they said no. The majority of the time I was inside prepping and painting the house so I did not observed the procedure they used to fix the deck. I asked them questions and they answered everyone of them to my satisfaction. The deck looks good but only time will tell if their work was good enough. If the deck continue to sink in a few months then I would have a completely different commentary.

Marc came when he said he would; worked diligently and cleaned up completely when done.

Handyman Matters knocked it out of the park! We had some extensive wood rot and holes from both squirrels and woodpeckers. Our batten board siding was a mess, and we were not ready to pay for the expense of all new siding. They responded to our request for a quote immediately, and soon had someone out to provide a quote. Mark did an amazing job, and always had a positive attitude. He asked for our input (made sure we?re all on the same page before starting), and listened to what we had to say. He respected us, and treated our house as if it were his own. The quality exceeded my expectations; we will absolutely go back to them in the future for any other issues we have. If you want a quality product done on time, and on budget, I highly recommend Handyman Matters.

The deck repairs were made efficiently and to my satisfaction. Moreover, in advance of the service being rendered, I found myself in a bind. I am disabled and no longer able to do much of the work I used to do. Therefore, I needed to hire out to have some repairs to my deck and to have it pressure washed and stained. I knew (or thought I knew) where the repairs were needed and gave instructions to the repairman from Handyman Matters accordingly. He did exactly what I asked for, did it very well at a very reasonable price. He was courteous, professional and I couldn't have been happier with his work. However, after the pressure washing was complete, I noticed on another section of the deck we had some additional wood rot that was significant. I called Laurie on a Sunday evening (6/2) expecting to leave a message in hopes of getting someone back as soon as possible to make the additional repairs before the people stained the deck. However, knowing how busy they were, I fully expected it would be at least a week to 10 days before anyone could get out to get to my job. To my great surprise, Laurie answered the phone on Sunday evening, got right on the matter and I was shocked to have her tell me she had one gentleman who could be on the job at 11:00 AM the next day (Monday, 6/3). The man arrived at 11:00 AM on Monday 6/3 as promised. Gave me an estimate, but told me it was just an estimate as he was not sure he would be "right on" due to the unusual natural of some of the materials required. He had another job on Tuesday, but was at our home bright and early on Wednesday morning and was finished by early afternoon. His price came in slightly higher than his estimate. Handyman Matters are, in my opinion, are the best! A+++ for their customer service. When I need a handy man in the future, I know I'll be calling them again.

They helped as much as they could with the wall paper on the walls but also provided spackling and sanding in order to make the paint job look great. They did such a great job, I have hired them to do two more rooms.

I appreciated these guys because they identified some problems from the start and got them handled. The job ended up taking 2 days rather than one because of the prep work they needed to do on the old varnished trim. They explained everything well and were very professional and friendly. The trim looks a whole lot better.

Called and spoke to Laurie about some work I needed done. She was able to tell me what it would cost per hour. After going over what I was wanting we were able to arrange a handyman to come out in the next two weeks when I had time off from work. She was very helpful and I'm looking forward to the work they will be providing.

I found HM on Angie's list and decided to give them a call. I was doing a major bathroom remodel. I made an estimate appointment for two days after my initial call . Laurie was running late, but called me regularly to ensure she was on her way. I explained that I was doing the demo myself, and needed someone to install a new ceiling fan (vent to outside), install a new GFCI, all new drywall, and tile the shower. She understood completely and offered to skim coat the ceiling too. Everything went well, and later that day I had a quote that was very reasonable, given the scope of the project. I soon had a schedule from a project manager, with dates and names of who will be doing what on which day. Throughout the process, they played well with my plumber, who often had to be in the same area as the workers. Day 1: Ceiling fan and GFCI. Electrician was thorough, prompt and polite. The only minor complaint is that he didn't clean up, I would recommend that HM makes that requirement for future jobs. Day 2: Drywall. HM subcontracted this out to another company. They shimmed the walls first, then installed cement board around the shower, and drywall elsewhere. No complaints. Day 3-4-5: Tape and mud walls; skim the ceiling. This contractor was from the same company as the drywall guy, and he did a good job. Some spots on the wall were not quite as "paint-ready" as promised, but overall he did well. He worked for 3 days on this, it was pretty tedious. Day 4-5-6: Tile. I was lucky to get Marc Graham for this. It was the most challenging part and I was worried about how it would be handled. But he did it like a champ. Very tedious work and he made it look amazing. He also fixed the previously installed electrical switches and outlets (on day 1). Because of the added wall thickness due to shimming, the face plates wouldn't fit properly. He also helped install trim and window casing. Overall, a great company with reasonable prices. Make sure you request Marc, he can do just about anything, and can also quote the job for you.

Chris was prompt and knowledgeble however the price was too high. I might use them again if I can't find anyone else but will shop around for other handyman jobs. It might be better if they were able to price based on the job done rather than a flat rate per hour.

Our handyman's name was Mark Graham and it was clear from the beginning Mark had experience and knew what he was doing. Mark initially replaced some rotted boards on one of our chimney. He inspected all boards on the chimney, not just the one that showed obvious signs of rot. He then cut all of the lumber needed and primed it. While the primer was drying, he went to the second part of our job...shoring or the railings on the deck. The deck was about 17 years old and was still in good shape, but some of the railings had started to become loose with time. He used lag screws from the inside so the would not be visible to the naked eye, but they certainly did the trick in making the rails feel more secure. By the time he finished with the deck, the primer was dry and he installed the chimney trim and painted it with our top coat. He cleaned up after himself, I wrote him a check for the original estimate of $300 and everyone was happy all around. I know I was. Being disabled, Handyman Matters and more specifically, Mr. Mark Graham specifically is going to be my go0to guy in the future for any home repairs I feel are beyond my current capabilities. He was a joy to work with.

It turned out great. They were very efficient and very reasonable priced.We were really happy with the outcome.

I think they are expensive for what they do. They don’t always have the best workman for the particular job you want. They claim that they have the proper workman to do the job you need, yet the guy they send out is not the most qualified person.

It was fine. I was very pleased with their service.

It turned out great. We had a snow storm during the project and they came back about a few days later to finish the job. I found that the owner was very personable as was the workman. They were very professional and did a great job. Their quality of work was outstanding.

We were pleased with the promptness of their call. The estimate seemed fair compared to the others that we received. The guys who did the work were very nice, courteous, and worked very well. They completed the job promptly at the price that was quoted.

Gary arrived on time and while fixing problem educated me on how to proberly do the work myself so I can prevent having to call them again on similar problems. I was really impressed that a company would give me tips on how to solve problem myself even though that could potentialy cost them buisness. The price was exactly the over the phone quote. I would definitely use them in the future, and I have some other projects that are above my skill level that I will call them on in the near future.
