Handyman Matters of Johnson County gave us a quote substantially less than the other companies we contacted and included stripping wallpaper in the dining room. The other companies would only quote an hourly rate for stripping the wallpaper. They showed up the day we planned on and finished the work the day they estimated. Neither they nor I noticed that the trim color was wrong right away but they fixed it and did not charge me extra. They brought in another painter to catch up and finish the job in a timely manner. They are willing to return and fix anything not to your satisfaction.

John started the project and did an excellent job. He arrived when he said he would and let us know when he was leaving. He also kept us informed of any problems he encountered during the project and asked us how we wanted things done. Jeremy and Scott stripped the wallpaper, prepared the walls and painted in addition to installing mirror, toilet paper holder and towel rack. Jeremy stayed late one day to finish the project. Very pleased with the outcome. This was the second job they completed for us and we would highly recommend them.

The guy showed up late and had to go to the hardware store several times throughout the process. Pretty unprofessional and disorganized. But we love our light and 2 plus years later it's working GREAT!

All work went extremely well. From the time that I received the quote to the time that the work was completed was a matter of just a couple of weeks and was scheduled quickly. The painters were on time, everyday, and made sure that my house was clean when they left on a day to day basis. I received multiple quotes, and they were competitive for the amount of work that needed to be done. They were also the most responsive company that I dealt with. If I calked them they responded immediately to any questions, changes, or inquiries that I had. The team of individuals that they sent were so good that I had them provide me with quotes for additional work when other workers that were hired by my home designer did not show. They stepped in immediately and completed some electrical work and hung lighting fixtures and provided some small discounts on the additional work since they were already there. This was definitely appreciated! I did have issue with the texture and feel of some of the doors and trim that were touched up. I had returned at midnight from a business trip and sent them an email that night and they were at my house in the morning to understand what the concern was. They also came back and provided options to address the texture concerns until I was satisfied . Overall great experience with this company. I have called them again for quotes on additional projects.

If at first they don't succeed, they make it right. Within a week three men corrected the mistakes of the first. They guarantee their work and could not have been nicer about making things right.

Everything went very well. The painters were very nice and quite professional. They painted the fence without making a mess in the yard. They cleaned up after themselves and were done in 1.5 days (approx).

It went really well. He as very nice and personable. He did not try to sell me and he did a good job. I would use them again.

Complete remodel of hallway bathroom. It turned out great. Had been wanting bathroom redone for years. Finally decided to proceed. Got several bids. Quickly realized remodeling a bathroom isn't as easy as it sounds. There are hundreds of decisions that have to be made and products to choose. Finding a good contractor was the first step. Chose Handyman Matters since Laurie seemed honest and the estimate was in the price range we wanted. John was our primary craftsman and did a great job, despite many challenges. I had a lot of questions and concerns along the way, but thankfully John was very patient. The painting job and counter install were also top notch. Laurie and her staff are interested in customer satisfaction and providing good value. It's almost like dealing with friends. Thanks to Laurie, John and the rest of the crew for a job well done! Enjoying our new bath.

We're thrilled with the work in the bathroom. Laurie was very easy to work with and responded quickly to questions and changes. The vendors she had us use for materials were great and we found just what we wanted at a reasonable price. John did all of the work and he was friendly, efficient, and did great work. We ended up having him do a couple of additional tasks, including installing two new light fixtures and switching out an outlet in the kitchen. The price seemed pretty reasonable, and we would certainly go to Handyman Matters again for future projects.

It went great! They were done in a few hours and it appears to be very sturdy! Nice job.

The handyman (Chris) arrived on time with the storm door. (I had paid for the door at Lowes prior to the service.) The weather was chilly. The handyman unpacked the door and got it installed. The full screen was set to the side and I took it into the garage. The installation took about 2 1/2 hours. I reviewed and approved the installation. The only issues that I had were that the old door wasn't hauled away. I ended up have to get a metal cutting jigsaw blade and cut up the door. I took the cardboard to Walmart for recycling. The lock didn't work, so I resolve that by snipping a blocking piece of steel and re-aligning the striker plate. The handyman indicated the handle had to be installed in the fashion that it was. To me it appears upside down. I'll review the installation instructions and adjust as necessary. I don't have an issue with these issues. I attempted to get this installed by Lowes but they could never even get anyone out to do the measurement detail. The detail had to be done before the installation would even be scheduled.

Just excellent. Steve was professional and thorough. He took extreme care to mask off all the bordering areas and cover the floor completely. The application went (it seemed to me) effortlessly. The result was amazing. It looked better than new. Highly recommend!!!!

They've done various things that I've been happy with and I would use them again.

They were great. I had several people come out to do estimates. They were just super friendly. They weren't the cheapest people but their work was good and it was guaranteed if I wasn't happy. I got them off of Angie's list so I knew they wouldn't want bad feedback so they did a good job. I would bring them back, I'd use them again. They do a little bit of everything. They are versatile, you can just ask them. If it was something small or a larger project, they were willing to do that. They were quick and they were on the money. They did what they said they were going to do. They were on time. Anything I didn't like, I was able to address it and nobody got bent out of shape, they came back and did it again.

It went very smoothly....Laurel, the owner, is very responsive to questions and concerns....also came out to our house a few times to check progress......Chris, the main carpenter and Ryan were on time each day, efficient, explained what they were doing at each step, as they framed the closet, and cleaned up at night before they left........Also came back after the dry wall crew, and built some beautiful shelving. Juan and his workers, the dry wall crew, were unbelievably efficient, clean, quick, and did an excellent job....again, no mess left. The painters, Steve and Jason, did it exactly right....Prep work in painting is key, and these folks took lots of time and effort preparing the wall surfaces and the shelving, before they ever started painting. No payment up front was an important feature....paid about half, halfway through the job, and the remainder on completion. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, .....very nice people, and a commitment to do the job well, and to our satisfaction. We will use them again for future projects.

The job went very well. I was a bit anxiety ridden due to the fact it was our only bathroom and the expenditure. However, from the first day on, my anxieties were put to rest. John (who did most of the work) was wonderful. Very diligent and had a good work ethic. Wanted to please and made sure everything was done as we wanted. He was very aware of the fact it was our only bathroom and worked to make sure parts of it were usable as often as possible. We were actually without a commode only 3 nights out of the 2 weeks they worked. The painters also did a good job. Laura, the owner, stopped in a couple of times to check on the progress, which we appreciated. She is very easy to work with. We very much appreciated that she was willing to schedule us for the time they did. It was over Christmas and New Year's week, which was the only time I could work it in to my schedule. Overall, we are very pleased and would call them again first for future jobs.

I thought it was great. The owner was great. The gentleman that did most of the work, he was really good, very diligent and has a really good work ethic. We were just very happy with them. What stood out to me the most about them is their desire to please. Their professionalism and their service cleanup were very good. They gave us the best price for about four that we looked into. I have no complaints.

Handyman Matters is very professional and provides a good service. Our only problem was the job was quoted for re-grouting the tile and the serviceman insisted on using caulk instead of removing the bad grout and putting new grout in. While the caulk looks fine and certainly functions fine, it is not the same thing. Since the original quote reflected the difference in labor between the two methods, I contacted Handyman Matters about it. The company was excellent and refunded a portion of the payment to reflect the change. If I need their services again, I won't hesitate to call them.

The work was completed timely and was done very well. They had a challenge taking care of issues caused by the poor work of the original contracter, but everything turned out fine.

Great. I have used them before and will use them again. They are a very nice family company that live in our area.

First, the owner laurie or laura showed up, gave me the bids, that did not differ from the final bill. She was extremely impressive, as she knew her stuff, and what type of work each job would entail. (she actually quoted me on many, many more projects, even though I only had the 4 immediate ones fixed.) Then, they scheduled a guy to come out, and he was knowledgeable, personable, and friendly with my dogs, all while looking the part, with his flannel shirt and work belt on! I own a business (this work was done for residential), and I am sick of hiring contractors to do a job for me, that after they are done, I have to re-do myself, and/or I am not satisfied, and feel ripped off financially. I feel like most contractors are in a rush, and don't seem to be aware of the customer service they are providing. This company exceeded my expectations on both ends. Bravo for bringing back great customer service!

Due to a laundry-room leak that was undetected when the previous owner moved out, we had a 2 by 2 foot section of ceiling in a very visible part of our finished basement that needed to be repaired. They came and did an in-house estimate, and had the work scheduled within a week and in time for Thanksgiving visitors. The work done exceeded expectations, and they stood by their estimate. The finished area is completely undetectable. They cut out the section of damaged ceiling, carefully fitted new drywall, mudded and texturized it and it was perfect. It took longer than was originally estimated, but the young man who performed the work was concerned with getting it exactly right. I would not hesitate to use them again and am considering them for an expansion of the finished area of my basement at a future date. Excellent work and professionalism at a VERY reasonable price.

Due to poor work when the house was originally built, the men ran into a huge problem, with the ceiling coming down and insulation falling from the attic. But they fixed everything and our kitchen looks so much larger now! We would recommend them to anyone!
