A+ Insulation

Everything went very smoothly. Keith was very easy to work with and answered every question I had. He scanned the doors and windows first, showing me the scanner images when any leaks were found. When I mentioned some rooms were always hard to heat/cool, he located the issues right away (poor ceiling and wall insulation were the culprits). He walked me through what he would be looking for in the attic and spent about 10 minutes up there. After the audit was complete, he provided an estimate and copies of all images via email before he left.

Keith arrived when scheduled and explained what he would be doing. He took energy readings throughout the house and then went into the attic to check the insulation and air flow efficiency. Upon completing his inspection, he proceeded to write up a recommendation for what he felt would improve the efficiency of our home. He explained each procedure that would be done and what it would cost. He also answered any questions that we had. He was very polite and professional. He also advised how long the estimated price would hold. I was quite impressed. When we decide to have any work done, I wouldn't hesitate to call A+ and have them perform the work.

They were very thorough and I was very pleased with their work. I would hire them again and I'll be doing that for the insulation.

They were punctual and careful to protect the walkways in my home and sealed off the room where they had access to the attic. They brought in the hose with the new insulation through a window so they didn't have to snake it through the house. They were extremely efficient with their labor. They were all working very hard to seal up the holes. They took pictures before, during and after. When they were finished I went up the ladder and looked in and saw the huge difference in the attic. They showed me where things had been done improperly and they corrected those. We feel the insulation has made a significant difference in the comfort of our home. They could not have been any more professional. We were very pleased. When they came to do the quote the gentleman said we had a visitor and there was a squirrel in our attic. So we were able to get that squared away as well. The pest management company sealed the outside and A+ Insulation sealed up the inside.

They were goo and very professional, but they were not as in-depth as another company that I received an estimate from. They seemed to just concentrate on the attic. I called them back a second time, and the shop supervisor came out, but the estimate increased.

The technician was prompt, courteous and well-prepared. He seemed to know his business well. I was able to see areas of thermal leakage clearly with the use of the Flir thermal camera, which allowed me to focus on the problem areas as opposed to taking shots in the dark or assuming that I had fixed the problem with a quick fix. I have arranged for a return visit for insulation and look forward to a more comfortable house.

The 2 man crew arrived on time and were very professional in their work, especially the leader, Mike. He was very good about explaining the procedure in my attic. I like that he took pictures of the end result which he showed me at the time and later were e-mailed to me for my records. When I realized what was going on about the Attic-mate cover, he immediately changed the work order with no hassle at all. He removed what screws had already been put into my ceiling and even patched the holes. I really appreciate that there was no problem about making the change and that the price was adjusted accordingly at the time. He also took great care to clean and vacumn after the project was completed. Mike was excellent to work with. I am very satisfied with the work of A+ Insulation even though it is still too soon to tell if there will be heating cost savings. I would certainly recommend their work and especially like that their office is so easy to contact.

A+ showed up promptly and gave us a bid while they were still at our house. They also told us about tax breaks going on now and programs to help offset the cost. They sent an email with the images from their scans so we could review them. Their estimates for beefing up our insulation and for sealing windows/doors/outlets etc were very reasonable. We are still trying to prioritize the work needed on our house though, so we have not had the work done yet.

The gentleman arrived on time and was very nice. However, it was pretty warm outside so he noted right away that it would be difficult to get much of a read on our home. Once in the attic, he noted that we had a good amount of insulation although it would increase our efficiency if we wanted to add more. Basically he didn't act like we would want to do much but gave me an estimate for more than $2,000. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly. I wasn't going to write a review but since it keeps popping up every time I sign on to Angies List, I decided to go ahead. My experience may not be typical.

The gentleman came to evaluate the placement of the two fans we ordered and recommended additional attic insulation as well. We have a walk-in attic with exposed studs for the interior structure. They removed all the old insulation, replacing the batts between the studs with loose insulation pumped into the cavities formed by a fabric-type material stapled to the studs. They also blew R-49 worth of insulation onto the floor sections. Then they put a tight weatherstripping around the attic-side of both doors. Our upstairs, which had previously been VERY warm in the summer was very comfortable - even in the 100+ degree days we had in 2012 and our electric bill for June was $50 lower than in 2011. Of course, the 20 days over 100 in July resulted in a higher bill than in 2011, but that was to be expected.

We think that the team did a fantastic job of insulating/sealing our house - I had to adjust the thermostat down because it was now too hot in our house (for a setting that was barely comfortable prior to the work being done). I anticipate that the savings we'll see will pay for the work in less that twelve months. The only issue we had with the process was that bits of insulation ended up in the nooks and crannies of our house; it took us a couple of hours to clean the house of these fuzzies. I did contact the manager about this issue, who subsequently contacted the owner, who called me personally to apologize . . . he explained that the company was growing quickly, and that he was trying to get all the crews on the same level of service which is the process from start to finish. Make no mistake: the folks at this company are great, and you should have no hesitation in contacting them for your next insulation job. I hope they continue to grow, and I look forward to them working on my new home when the time comes.

I bought the coupon with Angies List and in a few days A+ called and set up an appointment to come out to the house. I acutally had to call and reschedule the first apointment due to a death in the family. A+ was completely cooperative and rescheduled with out any complaints. On the day of the appointment, Ketih called to say he was done early with his previous appointment and could he come to my home early. I was out running errands and explained that I would hurry back to the house but would still be another 45 minutes at least. Keith was very understanding and said he would just wait for me to get home. Keith explained what he would be doing, showed me the thermal camera and let me follow him around from room to room to watch as he looked at our exterior walls for insulation problems. he listened as I explained my concerns with certain areas of our house and took notes. keith entered both attic spaces and took pictures with his phone and then later we sat down and discussed our problem areas and what he would recommend, and what the final cost of each recommendation would be. He emailed me the photo's and the list of recommendations and when I had questions about some of the pictures the next day, he was very prompt about getting back to me.

He was thorough, pleasant, and professional, and not pushy when I did not schedule service with them.

I received another quote from another company that was highly rated on Angie's List. They were not very responsive and provided a quote for the job with no details. The quote for the job was less expensive though. I contacted A+ soon after and Keith called me back within an hour. He came out right away and gave us a quote. He provided lots of detail on what they could do for us. He also took lots of pictures of areas that they would address during the installation with their Seal Package. When we received the quote it was very detailed and provided two options of insulation along with a detailed breakdown of pricing for each option. We took awhile to decide if we wanted to spend the money. Keith followed up about once a week to see if we had any questions- which we did. The other company never followed up once after the quote. Once we decided to move forward with A+, they worked around our schedule to come out. On the day of insulation, they arrived around 9am and were very quick in completing the job. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. They took lots of pictures to show us what they did. We were also able to go check for ourselves. Overall, we were very pleased with the service and quality.

I called made the appointment. Straight up 12:00 they knocked on the door. They introduced themselves and asked if it was OK to begin, and went straight to work. Covered each room and showed where they could help with insulation. Went into attic to check insulation. Took pictures so I could see since I did not want to crawl in the attic (I turned down their invitation to go). Sat down and went over 2 estimates (dependant on the amount of insulation to be added). Emailed the estimate right there to me, so I could go over with my spouse. They said they would call in one week and they did, right on time again. Impressed me how punctual.

When the Tylers showed up, they were prompt and very courteous. They sealed the fixtures in the attic and put insulation around the attic door. The doors and windows were caulked with silicone on the outside. I was told that it was not needed to be caulked on the inside. As they were packing up, I requested that they show me how to use the fireplace balloon. It was then that I was told that the balloon did not automatically inflate and that I was expected to get on my knees in the fireplace and blow up this balloon after each fire. I'm a large middle-aged woman that will NOT be blowing up a balloon in such an awkward position. I don't know how much I paid for the balloon or the installation, but that was wasted. A few weeks later, the temperature finally cooled down and I felt a draft in my dining room. I was amazed how much cold air was coming through the window sill. I got a caulk gun and caulked the inside of those two windows myself. Today, I was downstairs by the fireplace and it was cold. I looked up in my chimney and see that the balloon is deflated. What a waste! I also see that the outside of the downstairs sliding glass door was not caulked. * * * * * Update: December I bought a piece of Owen's Corning insulation board and cut it to fit my fireplace. On January 14, Billy arrived and caulked all the interior door and window frames. I was told that in the whole house seal, the doors and windows are generally caulked either on the inside or the outside. However, my work order did state that both the inside and outside would be done. Billy also re-installed the balloon in the fireplace and we discussed the fact that my fireplace was odd - since it was built by the previous home owner himself. He reshaped the insulation board that I had blocking the fireplace so it fit tighter. We discussed how to insulate a 1 3/4 inch gap between the brick and the wall that was letting in some cold air temporarily until I could get a fireplace specialist out to work on it. Billy was very courteous and friendly and told me that if there were any more concerns, he'd be glad to fix them. Thank you.

The guys came over and explained the process to me - very frindly and throughlly professional. They tried to stay out of my way, although I knew why they were there and wasn't bothered in the least. It took about three to four hours to seal the leaky areas and light fixtures, trim the doors, insulate all the plugs and spray all the insulation. There were other things that they did but I just can't remember them all. Cleaned up after themselves as well. Very happy with the job they did and the results related to my utility bills are even better. I am very pleased with the work!

I need to read the fine print next time And have a rough estimate as far as the square footage

Called for energy audit. They were on time, [performed audit, showed me pictures of what needed to be done. Worked with me on scope of project and agreed to get work done within the week. Very easy to work with.

We bought an older home a couple of years ago that has had troubles keeping up with heating and cooling even thought we have 2 seperate furnace and a/c units. We called A+ insulation to do an attic inspections. They took detailed photos as well as infrared photos showing us our problem areas and what they could do to fix it. They sealed the attic, blew in insulation, sealed duct work that was improperly sealed and sealed a storage area next to the attic. They showed up when they said and worked quickly. After they completed their work we noticed about a 5 degree difference on the upper floor during the 100+ degree days.

It started with an energy audit that showed areas with excessive heat coming in. Then he told me different options for two types of insulation and different thicknesses or R values, and the need to seal lights and fans. He was patient and professional in every way. This is probably what sold me the most. I went with the white spray in insulation at a depth that exceeded code for new home. This went in to my 3 BR, 1 car garage ranch in Prairie Village. The men that came to complete the job were professional and there was no mess in the area where they accessed the attic. A friend told me that he thought the estimate was reasonable.

It went fairly well. They were very prompt and arrived when they said they would. Cleaned up after they were through and did a very nice job on weather stripping the attic hatch. There were a couple of hiccups that I didn't realize until several months later but I talked it over with the owner and he was very receptive to the critique and had said that he would be more than happy to send someone out to fix the issues that I had. But since I had already addressed the issues at the time, it wasn't necessary for them to come back out. I would use them again but I would ask more questions while they were there in the house so I wouldn't have any issues.
