A+ Insulation

I ordered an attic fan installed. When the guy got here he went in my attic and looked around then we talked. He found out that I ordered an attic fan and thought I was getting an attic fan. He informed me that what I had ordered is a rooftop vent fan although no where did it say it was a rooftop fan. I told him that I was not interested in a roof fan and he left. Since he was here in my attic my existing attic fan no longer works ( it had no problems before I just wanted a solar attic fan). This was deceptive advertising and I am not happy that I will have to pay someone to fix a problem that I didn't have before they came. I would not use them!

Just as estimate outlined. Punctual, neat, and professional.

They came and did the evaluation for the advertised $45 half off, special price. Then as I am reading through their quote, it indicates they do the evaluation for free. As I already knew I needed work done, I agreed to have it done and had to ask for the additional discount indicated in the deal to be applied. Finally, on the day the work was done, they had posted a curbside yard advertisement for "a FREE evaluation," the same I presume for which I paid $45 through Angie's Big Deal.

After purchasing this deal, a woman called within three days to set up an appointment, which was great b/c we didn't have to put forth any effort into getting an appointment. The guy showed up on time and was very personable and professional. He did a thorough job and gave us some great pointers for how we could get better energy efficiency out of our 100 year old house. I definitely recommend this company and would absolutely use them again in the future.

The work crew was a few minutes late, but the foreman called to let me know they were on their way. I understand things happen on previous jobs during the day and do not fault them for that. I appreciated the heads up call. I was so impressed with the workers-- very polite and efficient. The thermal window frames, basement windows, and garage door corners were caulked. The attic insulation was increased from 12 inches to 24 inches to obtain the R-60 value. Dura-Vent baffles were installed for proper attic ventilation. Attic rulers were installed to ensure a continuous and level R-value. Insulation was installed around the attic entrance and the exposed plumbing stack was air sealed. Two doors received weather stripping and a door sweep on the inside bottom to stop drafts. The job was completed in slightly less than half a day. We were happy with the work except for one small issue with some weather stripping that we had to call them back to correct a couple of months after the work was performed. The company was responsive and very apologetic about any problem experienced even though it was a couple of months after the original work. They worked with my time frame for the fix-- not theirs. I feel A+ Insulation is a reputable company striving to make the customer happy. Plus, having Angie's list back the work makes a huge difference for me. I didn't need to call on Angie to correct the problem, but knowing I could gave me peace of mind. With all the new insulation and weather stripping, we can't wait to see the difference in the electric bills this summer!

Worthless. It took them awhile to schedule and then he came out on a day that was so mild that there was no difference between the inside air and out. He said because of that he couldn't really pinpoint where heat or A/C would be leaking. He told me to contact the city and find out about their energy efficiency program. Didn't offer to come out another day.

Comapny did not honor their quote and they refused to finish the job unless I paid them more money. They blamed it on the salesperson. They also offered a discount if I paid in cash (kinda shady).

On time...technician was personable, knowledgeable, thorough, clear...provided photos of attic damage...recommendations were realistic and appropriated to needed work...estimate and photos were emailed so that I could forward info to roofing company... estimate was reasonable...I will likely use A-1 for this job after needed roof repairs are complete.

Keith arrived right at the scheduled time. He asked what issues I had that caused me to ask for an inspection. I was primarily interested in checking for moisture. Keith explained what he would be doing and looking for in the attic. He spent about 10 minutes in the attic; then gave me a full report on the condition of the insulation and attic. He also showed photos he had taken and later emailed those photos to me. He did not find any moisture in my attic and took time to check other areas and suggested what might be causing my issues. He explained some do-it-yourself projects I could do to improve minor air leaks in the attic. I was very pleased with the service and the report I received. Keith was extremely polite and helpful.

Their work was excellent, and I would give them an A. I thought he was very thorough and professional.

They started by doing an initial inspection, during which I told them I was interested in insulating the crawl space in addtion to my coupon. Then he provided me with different estimates based on what type of insulation I wanted and let me have time to decide. They scheduled me two weeks out, and when I forgot to email back the agreement they reminded me, which is nice. They only took around 3 hours to complete the work, even though they probably hauled off at least 15 bags full of old insulation. They even sealed the vapor barrier joints with the foam to ensure a good seal.

The sales estimator was prompt and did a good job explaining the bid and was very clear as to the services to be provided. A couple of weeks after the estimate was accepted the job was scheduled and the crew was prompt, thorough and clean. I would definitely recommend them and use them again if I had a need.

Crew arrived on time, was respectful of my home, and performed very high quality work. The only reason I did not give them an A is because the salesman failed to note that the exterior of my home was stucco, which would require additional equipment that they did not bring with them. We had to schedule a second appointment, at which time the gable vents were installed. The gable vents also had to be customized for my home. They did not charge me anything additional for the custom gable vents. Overall, they were very professional throughout the entire process, they scheduled my second appointment in a timely fashion, performed high quality work, and I would recommend them to anyone.

The experience was very positive from start to finish. When the guys came out to do the initial assessment, they gave me a comfort level that they knew what they were doing and were trustworthy. They provided an estimate, and we decided to have them do the work. Scheduling the work was painless. They showed up on time, finished ahead of schedule, and did a good job of cleaning up when they were done. I would definitely recommend this company.

I had a great experience with this company. I purchased a Big Deal coupon and they promptly contacted me to setup an appointment. The salesman was on time and did a thorough inspection of the house including attic insulation, air infiltration around all of the windows and doors. He had some helpful suggestions on how to improve the energry efficiency of the house. He gave me a bid for new insulation and separate bids to weatherstrip around a couple of doors and all the exterior wall electric outlets. The price was fair and I accepted the bid. They were great to work with on scheduling and showed up on time. The crew completed the work and cleaned up after they finished. Things couldn't have gone smoother. I highly recommend this company if you need any insulation or help making your home more energy efficient.

They cleaned up well except where it got in to the basement and none of realized. They came back immediately when I saw it and cleaned up the area very well.

The rep was professional and helpful. Upgrades we need are expensive so we are getting a second estimate.

When I first scheduled the appointment, it was scheduled for all day. However, I got a call within a week stating this would not take all day and would it be OK if they scheduled it at noon. That was awesome because it worked out better for me due to prior obligations. They called to state they were running a little late. They got here and got started on the what they needed to do. Another gentleman stopped by in the middle of the job to see how things were going. He also checked on me to make sure I was getting questions answered and that the guys were being professional. They finished the job in less than 4 hours and cleaned up after they were done. I was very satisifed with the service and would recommend them to anyone.

They showed up on time. Started to do the scan of the house. Walked around the house looking at crawl spaces and garage doors and all doors and windows. Then went inside and did the same. Then he went to the attic and checked it out. Very good job!

We were troubled by the fact that the heating in our house seemed so uneven. In the winter, one side of the house was at least 10 degrees colder than the other side . After having our furnace serviced and duct work inspected, we were at the point where we believed the only solution was to install a second furnace. It was then that we received the offer from Angie's list for a thermal scan. We signed up. Keith from A+ Insulation did a detailed scan and showed us how uneven and lacking the attic insulation was. We were surprised since we had purchased the home just 2 years previously and nothing was mentioned in the inspection report. We had the additional insulation installed at the beginning of January. The men who installed it were very pleasant, polite, and efficient. They were also thorough in cleaning up after they had completed the job. The results have been amazing, and we couldn't be more pleased. The formerly cold rooms are now consistent with the rest of the house, and we didn't need an additional furnace. I also expect to see an overall improvement in our gas and electric bills over time. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would highly recommend this company.

The technician showed up on time and did a thermal scan of my entire house, including going into my attic and crawling around the entire area! He explained the process and showed me the scan as it was happening. He made several recommendations then worked up a very detailed and extensive quote where he showed me the options for the work to be done. He could have not been more kind, knowledgeable or professional. I will definitely use this company when I do my insulation and sealing.

Nothing to tell. It went great. They were on time, friendly, clean, efficient...and done.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special for this service. I have no dislikes about them. I was not here when they did the work, but my wife was. She said they did a good job, were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. The only thing I am waiting on is some pictures they took; I am not sure whether we got them or not. I was happy with their pricing.

So far we've only had the energy audit performed, and the serviceman sent me an estimate for adding insulation to the attic, blowing new insulation ito the walls (the batting has sagged over the years and leaks cold around the edges of the walls) and sealing up the perimeter of the basement rim plate. I found him courteous, prompt and very knowledgable. I will review the estimate and probably split it into individual components over the coming year or two. I will definitely use this company for the work when we are ready to go ahead.
