Description of Work: i bought the 'big deal' offered for sealing around doors and windows only to find that was simply running a caulk bead around each door oir window. i had just had the house painted and all windows and doorshad been sealed but the representative tried to sell me the caulking anyway. i changed the deal and took the cash value of the 'big deal' to apply to having three doors weather sealed. while it was not my original goal the work they did was well done and quick. i believe the 'big deal' offered was deceptively worded but because of the terms that allow the value to be applied to other jobs it worked out satisfactorily, though not the bargain that the deal had offered.

Description of Work: Provided an insulation inspection based upon Angie's big deal offer. The deal included a whole house inspection to identify areas that lacked insulation. They provided thermographic pictures of the leaks and recommendations for resolving the issue(s).

Description of Work: I had attic blown in insulation installed, more than required by code. The experiece was a very good one and I would certainly use this company again. They also are a good source of information regarding other energy measures and resources. My only disappointment was that I had not originally intended to spend as much but do not feel the cost was out of line. I had a prior inspection and estimate prior to installation and the completed costs were totally what the estimate stated. I would recomment this company highly. Professional and no surprises.

Description of Work: Used thermal imaging device to locate areas around windows where cool air was leaking in. Caulked inside and out around windows and doors. Installed sweeps on exterior doors to stop air infiltration. Sealed above recessed light fixtures and other penetrations in attic.

Description of Work: A+ Insulation came to our home to do an initiall inspection. He was kind, prompt and seemed very knowledgable. Unfortunately, due to our financial situation right now we have not been able to use their services. He said he would keep checking back and has. He has always been kind and professional with each call.

Description of Work: Bought the $225 Whole House Air Leak Seal special from Angie's list. The first appointment was with their sales manager, who walked through the house with an infrared scanner and located the areas of greatest concern. As expected, the worst areas were around the door openings. The package included weatherstripping two doors, so I asked for three more to be added. He also noted that the insulation on the knee wall in our attic had sluffed. He spoke with the owner, Mike, and they come up with a cost effective fix that I agreed to. The only other issue was that our insulation needed to be topped up. I told them that I would consider it a little later. During the next appointment, a supervisor and two assistants went through the house and addressed most of the items that were part of the package, and the additional items I agreed to. The weatherstripping for the front door did not match the colors of our entryway. An A+ employee came back twice to our house to make sure we were satisfied with the final product. We appreciate their effort in completing the job to our satisfaction.

Description of Work: Top notch! Sales rep responded quickly to my request for a bid. Keith was the sales rep who arrived on time, and provided a thorough explanation of work to be done on the home. There was almost NO insulation and now there is ample. Wonderful job, tremendous workers. Polite and reasonable.

Description of Work: Came very promptly and gave an estimate, however, the cost was more than another estimate we had received. Since the services were the same we will go with the less expensive estimate but they were very responsive and professional.

Description of Work: A+ did whole house assessment and recommended insulation in 3 different areas of the house. They listed in order of best result in comfort & cost savings. They gave us a written estimate w brochures about the particular insulation they would apply. They made a follow up call a few days later. Evaluator was very personable. Our house was built in 1978. It is a two story tudor w upstairs open loft/3 bedrooms. It is so hot in the summer no one can sleep/live upstairs. We have added a small AC unit in one of the bedrooms w vaulted ceiling/west exposure and had a guest stay for a week. I am sure without the combo insulation/AC unit it would have been too hot (aug in KC) but we are happy w that result. There were several doors in closets giving access to attic that were found to be poorly sealed/insulated. Canned lights in ceiling were spewing heat from the attic. A+ took care of all these issues in half a day and did a good clean up afterward. We have seen results in this short time w upstairs easier to cool/keep cool. I am sure it will save us money in the winter @ summer on heat/cool bills.

Description of Work: The gentleman came to the house on time, explained the procedure he would be using to check where I had heat loss in the house, showed me on his machine where there were concerns, explained about the R-ratings of the insulation, and gave me an estimate of the cost of putting in more insulatiion. He was very professional and knowledgable. I will probably use this company at a future time. I just paid for the evaluation of my home, not for the services/insulation installation.

Description of Work: They used a heat detecting gun which took pictures to pin point where the house is losing energy. Then they told us where & how and in what order they would insulate the trouble spots. We will get other estimates before we actually hire anyone to do the actual insulating work. If their estimate is comprable to others we will definately use them.

Description of Work: We called A+ and got a prompt response. They crawled around our attic and found the problem. They removed old insulation and added new insulation to the walls. The workers were polite and cleaned up afterward. We have already felt the difference in the upstairs rooms. They gave a discount for cash payment as well.

Description of Work: I got the quote which was very detailed and I got answers to all my questions. I got the cheaper quote from other company so I decided to go with them. But I still think A+ may have done the work in more professional fashion than the other company I used.
