Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Tree trimming, removal, feeding advise, disease diagnosis & tree injection treatment with no drilling into the tree.
Services we don't offer
Stump Grinding, but I have someone who I have dealt with for 22years, with no complaints so let me know if you need this service and I will hook you up.
Our trees have grown tremendously since the treatment. One tree still isn't doing so well, but Chuck warned us ahead of time that we may need to remove it. It is fairing OK, we still don't know whether or not it will have to be removed.
Description of Work: We needed emerald ash borer treatment for our 5 trees. Chuck gave us a fair price that was less than what others were quoting. He showed up on time and was friendly.

Description of Work: Consultation regarding sick tree. We have used Chuck before, I needed his help to save a tree when a tree trimmer said it should be cut down. Chuck gave us good advice on how to save the tree when another tree company wanted to cut it down. Second tree he has saved!

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have called Chuck. Most knowledgeable, honest, courteous and effective arborist around. This is the second tree he has saved, when others suggested cutting it down. He sent a trimmer to cut what was dead and told us what to do in order to save the rest of the tree, which is very valuable for shade and aesthetics. Very busy, so be patient, especially during stormy periods, but worth the wait!

We called him back after they leafed out and we were pleased that he suggested just removing the dead limbs and inject both our Ash trees for the emerald ash borer that is devastating this area. We had him inject both trees and remove the dead limbs in the one tree. I also had him remove some of the lower limbs from a Mulberry so it didn't interfere with mowing. We had several old limbs put to the side of the yard that were too big for us to cut up and his crew removed those for us as well. We were very pleased with the process and the clean up work. I would not hesitate to use him again. He also counseled a neighbor on the condition of their Ash Tree that needs to be removed. I had a previous bid for the injections and Chuck was right in the ball park and even slightly under the other bid. I did not get any other bids for the other work, but based on my past experience with having trees trimmed, I felt it was a reasonable bid. I would add that Chuck came highly recommended to us.
Description of Work: I had Chuck out to check our Ash trees. He requested we wait until the trees leaf out so he can really get a good idea of the condition of the 2 trees. We kind of figured the biggest one was going to need to be removed.

Chuck Bingham offers an educated, personal service. The first time I used his service I had bids from two other companies. The other companies gave cookie-cutter (and MUCH higher) estimates, including services I didn't need or had asked for. Chuck insisted in me walking the yard with him and his assessment was based on MY trees, not "THE" trees. I asked him about statements in the other bids. One bid mentioned that one of my trees had softer wood and should be removed. Chuck said, "Yes, that tree is a softer wood, but yours is healthy and in good shape. No reason to remove it." I've used his services for the past four (more?) years, and been extremely happy. Very personal, professional and so cost effective he's usually totally booked.

Chuck came and gave a very reasonable estimate. When I faxed him my signature to confirm we agreed to the terms, I also asked him to look at a dogwood tree to trim. At this point in the process, his truck became disabled, so he wasn't able to get back for the work until over a month later (why I rated N/A on punctuality - don't want that to count against him). He called me the day he ultimately came since I wasn't home and gave me an estimate on the dogwood, which I approved. He completed the job, and we're very pleased, Our crab apple looks like a beautiful (large, life-sized) bonsai because of the artful turns the branches take, while Chuck removed lots of little twig/smaller interior branches and found appropriate places to cut back to so that the tree is not touching the house. I have used him many times previously and trust him to recommend what's best to keep our trees healthy, even when it means he's not making any money. He's willing to answer questions and give recommendations on other trees' care, even when he's not being asked to do anything with them. He cleans up thoroughly after completing work.

Excellent. We had high winds and torrential rain last night which broke a very large limb of our River Birch tree. The limb was very dangerous as it fell on our front steps but was still attached to the tree. We called Chuck and he was out here at 9 the next morning. Chuck is an arborist and gave us much information on the care of our trees. Will definitely use again!!

Chuck was awesome! He took his time and explained what was wrong with the tree and the steps we could take to save it on our own. He recommended products that he uses and gave us detailed information including where to get the products for the best price. He was extremely knowledgable and fun to talk with. If out tree doesn't pull through, we will DEFINITELY call Chuck and have him address the tree. We will also gladly use him for any other tree issues and refer him to our friends and family.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate to possible remove a tree in our front yard that has been failing for some time. When Chuck arrived, he evaluated the tree and told us specifically what we could do to save it. This was very welcome as we hated to cut it down and start over.

Job went very well. Chuck was right on time...to the minute....both on coming out to do the estimate and on the day he came out to do the work. Job was just as quoted and he did a complete clean up of he yard. Also gave so good suggestions regarding some other issues that I had not even thought about. Very fair price for the amount of work he did and no high pressure sales pitch regarding other trees on the property. A++++++++++++++++

I liked it. They were on time, very knowledgeable about trees and cleaned up. He came out and gave an estimate for the complete pruning of these trees and an estimate for a partial pruning. I picked the partial, but I have the option to change it to complete within the year. He likes to prune when the trees had leaves so it is safer. He did a really good job.

If you want to keep your trees alive and healthy, Chuck Bingham (Leawood Tree Service) is the one to call! I initially asked Chuck for just a bid to trim the trees, however, as we walked around the yard, I took copious notes as this Internationally Certified Arborist shared information on how to improve the health of my trees. In particular, he described four methods of treatment for the Emerald Ash Borer, the reasons why some treatments won't work, and after citing resources with a 10+ year record of successful treatment, we had him inject our treasured tree. The trunk was 36" in circumference and the cost was $90 for this year. He also suggested we feed our new trees Super Thrive, discussed watering methods, and recommended treatments we could do on our own in the spring. On another visit we had him trim our trees, and he explained in detail how he trims, the benefit to the tree, and that we don't have to do this very often. He also explained how we could save our pine trees with injections, however, the living parts were too lopsided for us to want to save them. I only wish we had talked with him several years ago. Chuck gave a detailed bid for each tree, for trimming and for recommended injections, and he let us choose what work we wanted to have done and to spread it out over time as budget permits, with the bid being good for one year. He is the consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. If you need a tree removed there are cheaper alternatives out there, but to keep your trees alive, you can't beat Chuck.
Description of Work: During this visit, Chuck trimmed trees. On a previous visit he treated various trees for leaf fungus, emerald ash borer, and insect infestations.

We have a maple tree that has been attacked by Carpenter Ants. Chuck answered my email promptly and came out to look at the tree. He gave us detailed advice and instructions on how to save the tree. He recommended products to strengthen the tree and told us how to get rid of the ants. All this was done in the middle of a rainstorm standing under the tree. Nice man, easy to talk . Very reasonable cost as he drove over 15 miles to help us.

Had a large broken branch hanging over fence line. Chuck came out and gave an estimate after one day. This is something that I will have to do every year for 7 years. I also did this treatment last year. Sigh. Chuck told me that I should have called him when the trees first started to leaf out. I wish he had sent me a reminder but he said he no longer does that as too many of his clients move and the cards got returned to him. After he injected the trees he pointed out that I had carpenter ants feeding off the dead part of my tree. He showed me how to treat that problem. Chuck loves trees and convinced me to keep my huge ash tree even though it is right by my driveway and is in the way when I back out of the garage. He said my energy bills would go up if I took down the tree because of the shade it provides.

Chuck Bingham has been taking care of my trees for the last 4 years after I had been using other tree service companies who were not as knowledgeable and unfortunately some of my trees were paying the price. He is the most responsive person I know in addition to being a subject matter expert and a great teacher. Not only does he take the time to review the issues thoroughly, but he also provides advice to maintain or improve the health of my trees. On many occasions he has shown me how to save $$ if he thinks I can handle a task vs. paying him to do it.
Description of Work: I called Chuck Bingham (the owner) late yesterday afternoon as a large limb of my Red Bud Tree was sagging. He returned my call within 20 minutes! Once I explained the situation to him he said he wanted to take a look at it that same day. When Chuck arrived he decided to change his own plans and take care of the situation right away. He also trimmed one of my Japanese Magnolias that was hanging into a portion of my gutter and showed me how to take care of one of my Bradford Pears trees to avoid a potential issue from developing this winter.

He does not adhere to proper tree trimming practices or ethics according to premium tree trimming services. He does not notify property owners about trimming their trees and am now in a law suit do to his direction. He cut a neighbors tree in half during high sap season when a tree should never be trimmed during this time according to Royal Horticultural Society and other arborists. It is also suggested by the National Forestry that a tree not be trimmed more than 1/4 of it limbs and leaves and he cut it in half. He did not even so much as knock on the owners door to let them know that he was climbing into and cutting their tree. Update:This is in response to the providers response. He definitely displays his lack of ethics and integrity to only save himself and his license to continue gaining the ability to have a paycheck. He mentioned the restraining order against the neighbors who employed him that I had deployed due to the request of a detective. It was only removed because it had to have 3 acts against the plaintiff (me) within a certain amount of months and was only removed due to the fact that their attacks against me and my property were brought about over a 4 year period. The judge said that I definitely have a case. The neighbors never came to me to tell me there was a problem and besides it was just 2 years earlier that they had cut the tree in half like they did this year, so the tree was not on their house; this was only about berries dropping. They have other trees on their own property that are actually growing only a foot away from their house and over their house but they do nothing about those. This was about the berries dropping only 3 weeks out of the year and they being lazy to clean up their own yard. According to Kansas statutes; leaves, limbs and berries does not constitute a nuisance and no one has the right to trespass . The images that he shows only shows the beginning stage of cutting the tree and not the final end to where he was strapped into my tree cutting it in half. If he was so innocent why not show the final stage and only the beginning to when he started. I received no contact what so ever from the neighbors or the trimmer in regards to their doing this act. While in the tree I yelled at him repeatedly to "GET OUT" and he kept telling that "it was his right". He does not pay my taxes or own my property and he was on MY property. I also have witnesses to verify this. He did not care who's tree he was cutting, only the fact that someone was paying him and this was the neighbors who had instructed him. This man has a lot to lose so he is lying to only protect his ability to get people to cut on their trees and he is painting this to be in his favor but the restraining order was not dropped due to the lack of substance but only due to the time frame from which instance happened. These people did exactly each and every thing that was addressed and this response shows that they will continue to lie to protect their jobs. This is criminal trespassing is considered a felony.
Description of Work: He cut a tree literally in half by not consulting the owner of the tree.

Under description of work, she says I trespassed onto her property without permission. First, that is not related to work. Second, its not the truth. I was never on her property ever when doing this job for my customer and I have no license that is in jeopardy due to my work, nor will I as all my work is done to ISA standards. The restraining order wasn't removed due to any tree acts, it was removed because she dropped all the charges she had made against my client and myself once she was presented the photo's showing I was not on her property or in any portion of the tree that was on her side of the line. The Judge never said she had a case. He told her by dropping all her claims in the restraining order against my client that she no longer had a case, but if she wanted she could go to trial right then and she said no she was retracting all her claims! She also says these supposed attacks on her were over a 4 year period and this job was done by me this June, I never even knew this woman existed 4 years ago! Clearly she is greatly mistaken me for someone else! The neighbors came to her twice which she apparently can't seem to remember either! The tree was never cut in half like she says two years ago as I did the cutting and she was outside and approved every cut I made so now again, she is not remembering correctly! She says the tree was not on my customers house which is not true as my customer has pictures to prove otherwise which were presented in court and she acknowledged in the presence of the judge and her attorney. This was only partially about berries but more about this tree rubbing on their roof and upper house siding! The images she speaks of were the pictures that were presented in court showing the tree limbs all over my clients house, roof, gutters, basketball goal, and driveway. Pictures were also shown after the cutting was completed which is something else she needs to add to her list of facts. I was never on her property at any time before, during, or after the cutting. She had no witnesses since there was no one there but my customer, his neighbor and me. Plus, no one she claimed as a witness ever showed up in court to testify on her behalf!! Under Kansas Case Law, please reference Pierce v. Casady vol. 11 pg.23 along with at least 5 other cases that trees with over hanging branches are a nuisance and can be dealt with by the adjoining neighbor which include cutting back to the property line & removal if the tree is deemed to be a hazard to that neighbor. While she was yelling at me to get out of her tree, she was saying you don't own the airspace and my tree does. She was having trouble standing and was unsteady on her feet, having to hang on to the storm door with one hand and her porch pillar with the other, she was also yelling why don't you people just kill my dog too! There were numerous other obscenities she was yelling which I will not mention! Unfortunately, sometimes in my business neighbors are not friendly and don't want to take responsibility for their trees, especially in this case, when it was in danger of harming my customers property. She should also get her facts straight as trespassing its not a felony, which I never did while doing this job. I think it is a shame when you read through all this as she consistently forgets the facts of what happen, contradicts herself and the only reputation in my opinion she is damaging is her own.

I contacted Chuck as I had used him several years prior to take out a tree. He returned my call and came out the next day to give us a bid. We accepted his bid and he came out one day later and did the work. We had a huge limb from a 60 year old Maple come down from some heavy winds a couple of days earlier. He cleaned up the tree from all the damaged limbs, cut up the limb that had come down and also removed several dead limbs from another tree. I had originally wanted to take down the whole tree and Chuck talked me out of that. He was very friendly, gave us some good advice, was prompt, cleaned up the whole yard. I would recommend him to anyone and would not hesitate to use him again.

I highly endorse Leawood Tree Service. I first called Chuck for a bid a few years ago. I got two other bids from big companies, but found Chuck highly rated on Angies List, so I put his numbers in the mix. The other two companies came to assess my trees when I was at work (which I thought was great). I got bids in the $1000s from them. Chuck insisted I be there when he looked at the trees. I grumbled, but met him. I'm SO glad I did - and was so, so impressed. He really knows his stuff, very professional and personable, and he cares about doing a good job. He scoffed at the things the other companies tacked on, and told me about the maintenance needed for each tree. His bid? $100! I had him back this year to do a general tree check and clean up. Again, a beyond-fair price, and he did even more than we talked about! This is service like it should be performed. If you're in need of tree service, please give Chuck a call first! [I'm not related or getting paid to write this - it's just been hard to find awesome people to work around my house, and I wanted to give him a shout out.]

We don's have any helicopter seeds yet but, I must say, we had no leaf problems this fall and I don't expect any tree seed problems in the spring. With the recent cold weather, ice does accumulate on top of the guttering but does not back up under the roof shingles. When the sun comes out, the ice melts and it just slides off. So, I guess this is a review for Chuck Bingham because he saved us several thousand dollars and to LeafGuard because their product works as promised. Happy campers here!!
Description of Work: We were considering removing a very large maple tree in our backyard and, last July, Chuck Bingham convinced us that would be a bad idea. Silver Maples are very messy trees and we had gutter issues. So, instead of killing the tree, we spent about a fifth of the cost on LeafGuard gutters.
