+ -1 moreHorrible!!! Initially they didn't want me present at the inspection and when I arrived they were already there with the realtors and were almost done. I asked some questions and they were very patronizing in their answers, but I turned out to be correct in both instances. They missed all kinds of things from small to large issues and most of them that cost me a LOT of money attempting to remedy. Others can't be remedied at all! Any one of these would have made me withdraw my offer, but that choice was taken out of my hands by a horribly inadequate and shoddy inspection. After complaining to my real estate person they did eventually refund my money. However, that doesn't mean anything as it doesn't even come CLOSE to what I have had to spend(and am still spending), to remedy faulty items they missed! Providing a "slick" report done by a "team" does NOT equal a quality inspection. As for their "brand promise" .....They may be "fast" but you pay a price for that! They are definitely NOT accurate and I would certainly NEVER trust them in the future.
Description of Work: They were hired to provide a home inspection including termite inspection for a home I was in the process of purchasing.

+ -1 moreEasy and quick to make an appointment. I used this team 10 years ago when I purchased my current home and they are every bit as good as I remembered. Very thorough and detailed. Three inspectors, so also very timely, but the thoroughness was what I liked best. Also, personable inspectors who shared knowledge/recommendations beyond what was expected. Definitely the inspection team to use.

In addition, the level of customer service was OUTSTANDING! The team arrived ahead of schedule and kept me informed of their progress. The price included a termite inspection as well HomeTeam did an inspection on my sister's home a year earlier and I knew when we purchased our home, we wanted them to do our inspection. They are completely professional, and will answer all of your questions. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

+ -1 moreOverall it went pretty well, they did their job and sent us the report as expected. To be honnest, we already had a report of inspection for the same house done a month ago by the relocating company of the current owners of the house. The Hometeam caught everything that was in that previous report (beside the things that were fixed before their inspection) plus a couple of other significant stuff. I was satisfied with the process and with the persons that did the job. The report was quite lengthy though but for me it is not bad, there were lot of advices for the future as home owner. It did had a very usefull summary at the beginning highlighting the main points of the inspection.
Description of Work: We've just purchased a house and had it inspected by the hometeam inspection service after recommendations from a friend of ours. I cannot really judge on the price for the inspection since I did not ask anybody else for quotes. The price I had included home inspection, pest inspection and sprinkler inspection. It was done on a saturday morning. For the pest and sprinkler inspection, the Hometeam inspection subcontracted and coordinated all of the inspection to happen at the same time. We set up the appointment easely by internet, they showed up on time, actually early, (as well as the subcontractors for the other inspections). It is true they do not like to be followed around but they did explain to us that they like to do their inspection with the less disruptions possible to stay focussed on their job. After the inspection process, they were available for the questions and to show us what they needed to. They took time to explain things clearly and to suggest maintenance we should do as future home owners to increase the roof life time for exemple or to take care of the siding or the HVAC. Mike even told me to not waste my money on the Radon stuff for that house since a mesurement was done 6 years ago and was so low (The result was in the disclosure for the house with a date and all results).

+ -1 moreThey didn't want us following them around & even during the inspection concerns were raised - the pest guy found water in the basement that the inspector hadn't! After the inspection we were advised we did not need any other inspections, structural or otherwise. We have since found so many issues, big and small that I felt compelled to join Angie's List just for the purpose of writing this single report to warn others. The report was so generic and unspecific and they just didn't take their time to find all of the problems - electrical, chimney, foundation, pests - so many problems they did not catch.
Description of Work: This was a whole house inspection for our first house. We were advised that they did not find anything indicating a need for any other inspections; they also brought a pest control guy.

+ -1 moreThe inspection itself appeared to go smoothly. I arrived after their inspection and they did walk me through some of the more obvious problems with the house. The pointed out a leaking water heater I already knew about and they mentioned some of the outdoor electrical outlets were reversed. However, after I took possession of the house, I realized what a lackluster job the inspectors did. They claimed to have inspected the plumbing, but I found banging pipes (water hammer) and dangerously high water pressure. They claimed to have inspected the electrical, but I found a number of outlets that were not even operational, including the main dryer outlet in the laundry room. The report they provided was clearly 90% cut & pasted information, and only 10% appeared to apply specifically to my house. The last 3 pages of the report was dedicated to explaining why they were not responsible for items they had missed during their inspection. Disappointing.
Description of Work: Home inspection for the purchase of my new home. Recommended by my real estate agent. According to their report, they inspected the exterior and interior, roof, windows, electrical, plumbing, attic, and HVAC. I can't tell you exactly what they did inspect as they specifically requested that I not be present during the inspection, only afterwards. I did receive a verbal discussion at the house and an electronic document (PDF) of the report.
