Mr. Schulte had his opinion and that's all that mattered. FACTS: Mr. Schulte claimed I had 2 layers of roofing on my house. In fact (in fact) there were 3. The roofer, who was going to re-roof the house the next week, said there were 3, and there were. Mr. Schulte claimed my wooden floors had to be replaced, yet the gentleman who was refinishing them said there was "plenty" of wood left. They'd never been refinished before. Mr. Schulte said I had termites. I have termite damage (the house is about 75 years old), but I do and did not have termites. I had had the house treated 2 weeks before, and in fact, my termite man was there at the same time Mr. Schulte was. Apparently, Mr. Schulte was rude to him also, because he commented there was disturbed by the way Mr. Schulte spoke to him. I could go on, but he's not worth it. Bottom line, he jeopardized my ability to get the loan I needed. I did get the loan, but no thanks to Mr. Schulte's inaccurate inspection. He left the house without so much as a wave good bye. Probably a good thing. My patience only goes so far.
Description of Work: He was hired by my Trust Company to do a inspection on my home prior to getting a mortgage. He made it very clear that he worked for the Trust, and not for me, even though I was ultimately paying for his services. While I understand that, I do not understand why he treated me like a little girl, and would not discuss the inspection with me until he got permission from my Trust Officer. He was rude and contentious from the beginning. Professional is one thing. Coldly professional is another. Mr. Schulte's arrogant attitude was quite in a class by itself.`

Mark Schulte was hired to complete a structural engineering report. The report was needed for the KCMO permit and plans section, to issue a permit to rebuild a foundation wall on a residential property. Mr. Schulte's work was inadequate according to KCMO permit and plans. The city asked that Mr. Schulte answer seven questions the city had regarding his report prior to issuing a permit. I sent said questions to Mr. Schulte and he replied "I performed your foundation inspection, as requested. I can not believe what all the city is asking for. This is beyond the scope of services for me. I do not have the time nor the desire to do all the things the city inspector is requesting."

Inspection was thorough and professional. We specifically chose Mark to come out for our home inspection because of his engineering and structural background. The foundation had seen some cracking, so having an experienced engineer look at the situation helped greatly. From start to finish we had no complaints and would definitely recommend. His rates are slightly higher than others, but I think this is definitely an instance of getting what you pay for.

We had previously used Mark Schultz to inspect foundation on a different house and wanted home inspection to specifically include the foundation inspection. Mark's report was thorough but possibly not as clear or complete as other inspection services. Pictures were not included and issues were a little more difficult to follow. Major concerns were identified and possible solutions offered. Overall experience was positive and we would definitely use Mark again as necessary.

Mr. Schulte who is a professional engineer started his inspection on the exterior of the house, proceeded to the interior living space, garage, attic, and basement. He was extremely thorough. Upon completing his inspection he reviewed all of the findings verbally with me (potential house buyer) and my real estate agent. I received a written report that was 19 pages long, with pictures that evening. He had placed the radon tester earlier in the week so that he could get the reading the day of the inspection. A termite inspection was also performed the same day. I used Mr. Schulte because the house had had foundation issues about 15 years ago and I wanted a structural engineer to evaluate if there were any new structural issues. In addition to being very thorough he also has a very pleasant personality. He arrived early and the inspection took 1 1/2 hours. This was when we had about 24 inches of snow on the ground so there were some areas he was not able to evaluate due to the snow. He did not rush and he answered all of my questions. I would certainly recommend him and would use him again.

I chose Mark Schulte for our new home inspection and structural evaluation based on his experience and the fact that he is a Professional Engineer. Going into a new home purchase I wanted to cover all bases to discover any possible problems including structurally, and he most definitely provided this service. From the first phone call and to meeting at the house, Mark was a true professional. Our inspections were scheduled promptly and he worked meticulously and efficiently. He was happy to answer questions and discuss concerns throughout the inspection and then provided a verbal report at the conclusion of the inspection with the written report sent via email. What stood out the most about Mark was his meticulousness in how he worked and communicated. If you're Type-A like me then this is the man you want inspecting a house before you buy it.
