The project was scheduled to be completed by June 5, 2014. As of July 7, 2014 the project has not yet been completed.
We engaged an attorney, and in response to our demand letter for full reimbursement so that we could fix the mistakes and complete the project, Sean's response included the following: "I have since moved out of the metro area. You will spend lots of time trying to find me for service. I wish you luck to continue this matter legally. Will the cost be worth the relief?"
Throughout the duration of the project, Sean gave us excuse after excuse as to his absence. When my husband finally got him to come back to our property to walk through all of the incomplete and sub-par work, he admitted to doing a poor job and promised to come back within the week to begin fixing the work. He has not returned.
Here are some of the issues we now have to correct:
The sidewalk is not level. The middle sags so that mud cakes that area during every rain storm. The work agreement stated he would remove six tree stumps. He cut them down to dirt level and buried them, hoping we would not discover the work incomplete. He agreed to bury a downspout under the walkway and install packed soil "to promote positive drainage away from the foundation." His work has instead promoted future damage to our foundation. The patio slants toward the home, causing water to infiltrate the basement directly below the stoop.
I could go on... Bottom line, do not trust this person.
My issue with this business is that the owner came to my home, looked at the job, gave me a bid to DO The job and then DIDN'T complete the job. After day 2, I was told that the job was much bigger than what he expected, that it would take much longer than he first thought and that he didn't know when he would be able to come back and finish it, because he had other jobs to do. That was more than 3 weeks ago, and the left-over mess is still sitting in my front yard. Owner gave me his word that he would complete the job, but has not called me or attempted to finish the work.
I have called him several times, only to be told that he would definitely finish the work. The last time I called him, he told me that he had been in an accident and that's why he hadn't contacted me. He then told me that he would contact a crew to come and finish the job and that he would call me to let me know. Haven't heard anything from him.
The crew worked real well for the 2 days that they were at my house, but this company is certainly NOT RELIABLE or TRUSTWORTHY.
