+ 0 moreI had a wood burning fireplace installed in a new home by Swims and Sweeps about 2 years ago. While the installation was accomplished without problem, there have been some significant issues surface to question not only their competency, but their honesty and willingness to stand behind their work. First, the custom chase cover was not built to the proper dimensions and a leak developed. Although additional flashing resolved the problem I was charged more for this modification. More recently when I requested a service call for a seasonal flue inspection as well as to investigate the appearance of rust stains coming from the chase cover down on to the stucco on the chimney, it was discovered that common drywall screws were used to fasten the chimney cap to the chase cover. I have heard nothing from the owner of the company to explain this poor workmanship....or even an offer "to make it right." I would not use this company for any fireplace or chimney work

Description of Work: I called Swim and sweeps because my fireplace was not working. They showed up on time, fixed the problem, educated me on why it happened. Additionally, they showed me a problem re: the placement of the "firewood" and explained why the placement is important to the overall efficiency of the fireplace. They gave me a brief explanation for maintaining my fireplace. The servicemen were, polite, respectful and I will definately use Swim and Sweeps in the future for all my fireplace maintenance.
