Not a good experience at all. Had to callback to insulate behind master shower stall, they didn’t insulate behind the cupboard, they installed new windows and hid 1/4” gaps around them which let water pour in when it rained& did not fix. They asked me to talk with Dunco heating installer to change anything, said we could use an extra vent into the basement bedroom, it never happened. The overseeing of many issues in the home was terrible. They took all the things from the home and “cleaned” it when we didn’t want it at all. They “miss placed “ my weight set, which I had seen in their warehouse. Lastly, they had a final increase of charges to my insurance company. Some few thousand dollars! A horrible company. Do not use them! Your insurance company will know about their shady tactics. Listen to them.

**HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED**. We had flooding in our basement. I called several companies to respond and give estimates. Paul Davis Restoration initially appeared to be good company. The owner/president of the local branch, Jeff Goldman, quickly responded and we accepted their estimates. Their mitigation team led by Bill Smethers was excellent. Their mitigation team responded quickly did an impressive and professional job of removing carpets and drywall. I was very impressed with their work and I cannot say enough good about their work up to that point. Unfortunately once the insurance paid for the mitigation costs, that is where all ended. The next step was to work with Mr. Goldman to arrange refurbishing and replacement. Although he gave us the initial impression he was a professional he totally dropped the ball. I will spare the details of months and months of unreturned phone calls and broken promises. After leaving no less than 10 messages for him, the only way to communicate was by e-mail. Mr. Goldman’s excuse was that he left the state to work in Florida after the Hurricane. I would have been glad to postpone any of our restoration so they could help with volunteer relief efforts, especially had this been communicated to us. However according to the office staff he was there on “business” not charity relief. After 3 months of trading e-mails full of failed deadlines and broken promises, he finally blamed everything on his project manager who was still in Lawrence and allegedly supposed to have worked on our restoration. Mr. Goldman promised the project manager would contact me in order to finish the project. It was the same song, different verse. The project manager did not return phone messages either. It took several weeks to arrange for him to come back for, yet another estimate. He supposedly did not trust Mr. Goldman’s numbers. He apologized for Goldman’s lack of customer service. He informed us their company valued us as customers and he would do everything he could to make it right. Days later he shows up and, get this, the project manager **REAKED OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES**. Don’t misunderstand me, I am not trying to just publicly embarrass him, which is why I am not using his name. He promised they would be back in contact in two days to get the project started. To this day, we have never heard anything else from him. That, in itself, tells me he was either blowing smoke or he was too intoxicated to remember what he had told me. I later made a complaint to their corporate offices. We were so puzzled by all of this because they initially did a great job and we even told them so. We never exchanged any harsh words with any of them. **Most of all we did absolutely nothing to deserve this type of treatment.** **DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.** And before he posts any responses here, I informed Mr. Goldman, we would give them one last opportunity to fix their mistakes, but I assured him if they did not, I would share what happened to us on line. They have chosen not to do so, therefore they have nothing they can refute.

Paul Davis Restoration staff members were very professional and accommodating from the very start. Personal service and professional assistance provided by them made a difficult situation much easier to deal with as we've been waiting to settle with the apartment complex, our insurance company and the insurance company of the person who started the fire.
Description of Work: Paul Davis Restoration, and it's Project Manager John Bannister, were great. The night of the fire at my son's apartment John came by and picked up the few pieces of clothing my son was able to recover from the apartment before the fire investigators closed off access. He then returned them to us the next morning. Once we were able to go into the apartment again (two weeks later) they helped us with additional cleaning of his smoke damaged property and provided feedback necessary to make sure we properly reported everything to the insurance company.
