One sewer issue was outside. Plumber located the problem which was not a blockage per se but rather and offset connection between the city sewer line and the line exiting our home. This was corrected. Second sewer blockage identified by sewer inspection turned out to be a corroded pipe on a lateral feeding into the main sewer line. This was indoors and required breaking out concrete to get to the repair. The plumbers were just as surprised as I was to find the specific corrosion and its location. Once identified, they were able to install new PVC pipe. The third item was a rusted hot water heater. They told me they had a flat rate of replacing these units. All billing was as I had expected. They arrived the same morning I notified them of the problem and installed a new water heater. Overall satisfied, and I would use them again if my primary plumber (one of their cousins) was not available. (Their cousin had referred me to them.)

Everything went smoothly. It took about 90 minutes for them to complete the work. When they first got in, our pipes out of the wall did not look like they would connect to the new sink as easily as hoped. However, they worked on a solution, explained it to me, and we went that direction for only a slightly bit more cost. My only complaint is that I was told it would be about 2 hours at $90 an hour. Two people came with one at a $90 rate and the second at a $45 rate. Both were busy the whole time, so I know if there was only one person, it would have taken longer (though not due to the adjustment made for the pipes) and cost the same as I was charged. I just felt it wasn't represented quite right.

Advanced Plumbing is good. I thought they were reasonable because I probably chose them but I was not the one who paid the bill. They did it very nicely. I give them a high rating. There were no glitches, they did what they said they were going to do and within the period of time that they said. I would give them an A on pricing just because it was something within our budget so I would say it was affordable for the common person. For punctuality, they are fair because I guess I'm from the old school, when you say you're going to be there at eight o'clock, you should be there at eight o'clock but it's not a huge thing. I give them a B on professionalism because they had a guy working for them who didn't work out real well and they ended up firing him but the boss of the company was A1. I will absolutely use them again.

Chuck was the first of three plumbers to give me an estimate on digging up the broken sewer main and replacing the old clay pipe with PVC pipe. From a video taken by Floyd's Drain Service, he knew exactly where the break was. We had the choice of either patching the pipe at the break or digging up 45 feet of back yard and replacing the whole pipe. Chuck said he could do the whole job for $1500, replacing the chain link fence and putting back the dirt with a slight rise that would settle down within a year. He gave the earliest possible date of the Tuesday of the next week. I work Tuesdays but he assured me that he would not need me to be there. When I called Chuck back to tell him he had the job for $1500, I asked about the 10% discount coupon on Angie's List. He said he hadn't known it was there, but that he would honor it. City workers and then the plumbing crew came the appointed morning, but I had to go to work before the job was finished. There was a snowstorm coming in and I was glad we would be able to get the pipe replaced before it hit. When I got home, I was shocked! The snow had not come, and the dirt had not been put back as promised. Instead, there was a mini-mountain ridge, two to three feet high, running all the way along the 45-foot length of the back yard. I called immediately, but there was no answer. The next day it snowed heavily. Chuck called back to ask what the matter was. He insisted that he had followed standard operating procedure because I had not requested and quot;special compacting equipment.and quot; After some discussion he grudgingly brought up that he was only charging me $1350 because of the Angie's List discount.. I would have willingly paid the full amount and more to have the job done the way I wanted it. It has taken more than $150 to hire help to move that mountain by hand. More importantly, I understood something very different than what actually happened. This was a very disappointing end to what had been an excellent experience. If I do business with this company again I will insist on having a written bid.

I appreciate that they were on time and did a solid job. They were very courteous and responsible.

I had gotten other estimates that were 6 times higher.

Chuck always calls back and he's always on time, he's a good guy, very nice. He has always fixed what was needed. He's also great for referrals if he's unable to complete or do the job.
