They are very good. They came right out to give us an estimate and set a date. They were punctual and called before they arrived. They were professional and easy to work with. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they seem to have a very good knowledge of their trade. We wanted our trees to still have a nice shape to them and provide shade, and they did a very nice job with that.

Greg came to our house and gave us a bid. We arranged a time to do the work by telephone. The crew arrived on time, about 10:30 and finished at noon. They removed all debris except for the wood chip and dirt pile where the tree stump was located.

Greg's crew removed from my backyard a big tree that was damaged in a storm and leaning on another tree. The damaged tree had snapped at ground level and was threatening my neighbor's wood fence, deck and roof. They cut it up and would have removed it, too, if my neighbor had not wanted the wood. The tree was in an awkward place and was hard to get to. My neighbor was worried that they would damage his yard accessing the tree. They also had to take down a section of his fence to do the job. My neighbor was very pleased that they were careful with his fence and did no damage to his garden. They came when they said they would and did the job in less time than they estimated it would take. They gave me the best estimate of three I checked and charged me less because they didn't have to carry the wood away. I will definitely hire them again. We could not have been more pleased with their work.

WE, INITIALLY, HAD ANOTHER TREE COMPANY COME OUT TO LOOK AT OUR TREES. THE QUOTE THEY GAVE US WAS AROUND $1500 - TO PRUNE ALL OF OUR TREES AND TO CUT A SUPPOSED 'DEAD' TREE OUT OF OUR YARD FOR AN ADDITIONAL $600. WE CALLED VAN BOOVEN FOR A SECOND OPINION (THOUGHT THE FIRST QUOTE WAS A LITTLE TOO HIGH). VAN BOOVEN CAME BY - CERTIFIED ARBORIST - AND STATED THE 'DEAD' TREE WAS NOT ON ITS LAST LEG AND THE INFORMATION WE HAD RECEIVED ON SEVERAL OTHER TREES BY THE OTHER COMPANY WAS VERY FALSE. SO, INSTEAD OF $1500+ IN TREE SERVICE WE HAD OUR PINE OAK INJECTED WITH IRON AND TOOK THE ADVICE VANBOOVEN HAD FOR IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF OUR TREES - TOTAL COST $650. WILL DEFINITELY USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN AND WILL BE VERY WARY OF ANYONE WHO IS NOT A CERTIFIED ARBORIST.

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SO PLEASED WITH VANBOOVEN. GREG (WHO GIVES THE ESTIMATES) IS A WALKING ENCYCLOPEDIA. VANBOOVEN HAD TWO CERTIFIED ARBORISTS (WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE) WHO DID THE WORK WITH A THIRD PERSON FOR BRANCH CLEAN-UP AND GRINDING MULCH. CHRIS, THE MAIN ARBORIST AND HIS ASSOCIATE WERE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH (I WATCHED THE WHOLE JOB WHICH TOOK ABOUT 7 HOURS). ALL THE WORK WAS PROFESSIONALLY DONE WITH GREAT CLEAN-UP AFTERWARDS. MORE IMPORTANTLY, OUR TREES LOOK GREAT BECAUSE THEY WERE PROPERLY PRUNED AND CARED FOR. PRICING, ALTHOUGH, IT APPEARS A BIT STEEP, WAS PRETTY COMPARABLE TO OTHER BIDS I HAD. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND VANBOOVEN. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

TEAM WAS PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

THIS COMPANY DID A GOOD JOB OF SHAPING AND THINNING THE TREE IN 1999; COMPARED TO SURROUNDING PROPERTY OWNERS' TREES, MY PIN OAK WEATHERED THE BAD ICE STORM WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE.
