+ -1 moreWhile the project was handled well with the bid and installation, follow up was terrible. When a gate was dragging on the footing and I noticed cracks in the fence I spoke with like 6 people in their office and was given the run around and couldn't get a call back. When they finally came out like 6-7 weeks later they discovered the fence posts were not set straight they corrected but they just showed up without any notification.
Description of Work: Wood fence installation. 6 ft cedar privacy fencing.

+ -1 moreWe got bids from a few different companies for putting up a fence at our house and also for my neighbor moving his fence and decided to use Perfect fence. Kevin was the one that gave us the quote so I asked him to come out and do the paper work. He came back out spent about two minutes in my backyard and said oh I miss figured the quote it will be about an extra $2,000. I told him he could go ahead and leave because I wasn’t paying him that much extra money. He argued with me about it for a few minutes and finally left then came back five minutes later and said he would do it and just charge my neighbor a little more to make up for it. I told him I already told my neighbor the cost he gave me and he wasn’t charging them more. We wrote the deposit check and he said it would be about four weeks with no rain. We did have a few days with rain so I waited about five weeks and sent him a text looking for an eta on the install. After a few texts, I called and it went to voicemail and I left a message. I then called the office and they said I wasn’t on the schedule my check was never turned in and was told the owner was gone but they would have him call me back I then left messages on three other days for the owner with no call backs. I got a text from our rep saying he was no longer with the company but he found my check and was putting it in the mail. I received the check in the mail with a post-it note saying they are done with fences for the year and won’t do more till spring. I called the office today and was told that they do fences year round and that the rep was still with the company.
Description of Work: Needed a new fence we paid the deposit. No work was done and the check was sent back.

+ -1 moreThe salesman Kevin was pushy and inappropriate with his comments. He gave an install date, picked up the deposit check and then because he did not turn it in with his office for a few days the install date was pushed back another 3 weeks. Despite several phone calls to the office the only time he called was after I called him and left message. Then he gave several excuses as to why the fence could not be installed sooner. After several more phone calls to the office I spoke with their accountant. He made several more promises to me. The only follow-up that I received from him was an email with my final invoice. When I spoke with the office and explained that I needed to speak with him prior to making payment then I received phone call. The gentlemen that did the actual install of the fence were great. They did a fantastic job. The only problem with the install was one of the gates is not the width that was requested. This was not the fault of the installers however, their supervisor, Keith made the marks for the fence posts and they followed his marks. Unfortunately the marks for the gate were short. I have another fence that I need to have installed. This company will not be getting my business for that fence, nor will I recommend them to any of my friends, family, or anyone else.

+ -1 moreThey were great. The only problem was a slight mis-measure so the bill ended up being more than the estimate. They only charged for the materials though and discounted some other labor that we were told we might encounter due to utility lines and other things. I would reccomend them to anyone who needs a fence. Great company and very straightforward that an error was made and that they would do what they could to make up for it. That accountability means a lot these days.

Description of Work: Perfect Fence Company installed a modified picture frame cedar fence. The initial start was delayed due to weather and/or delays on preceding jobs. While this was not a problem in this circumstance, it may be for purchasers with less control over their daytime commitments. There was a miscommunication in the type of fence to be installed between the purchaser's agent, and the company's estimator. A picture frame privacy fence was requested, while the estimator bid for a more typical 6-inch slat/picket stockade type of privacy fence. The discrepancy was caught during initial slat support framing, after the setting of the fence posts and prior to any slats/pickets being installed. While the estimator argued with the agent, the owner of the company made the necessary changes at a reasonable price increase, for the extra time and material a picture frame fence requires. As a reminder to other purchasers, any time a project is being done, the purchaser or the purchaser's agent, preferably someone with some experience in the type of project to be done, should be present to answer questions, catch any deviation from the expected work to be done, and generally oversee the project as it proceeds. | To avoid miscommunication over words like "privacy" or names of fence styles, with any fencing contractor (terminolgy may vary from city to city or contractor to contractor), a picture of the requested style of fence should be attached to the bid and signed by both the purchaser and the contractor/estimator. That was not done in this instance. While the posts for a modified picture frame fence are set similarly to a stockade type of fence, they are not for a standard picture frame fence. There could have been a great many problems had the requested fence been a standard picture frame fence. No significant problems occurred in this situation. | The purchaser's agent wants to emphasize, that while complications can arise with the most experienced contractors, Perfect Fence Company's final installation was done well and in a timely manner, including difficult spots created by the terrain. Problems which arose were addressed and taken care of in a reasonable manner and reasonably promptly. The purchaser's agent would hire the Perfect Fence Company again, and would recommend the company to other purchasers.

+ -1 moreI first spoke with the owner of the company in mid-June and he gave a verbal estimate over the phone of $1300.00. We were going to go with him once we got a written estimate. The owner stated that he would have written estimate emailed to me within one to two days. Well two days past and then a week past with nothing. I called the company and got an answering machine. After leaving a message another week and a half past with no reply. I tried calling their number twice more and still no reply. His original quote was great and the company was less then a mile from my house. But I guess he didn't want my money. It was rude that the owner didn't tell me that he didn't want the job,he just ignored me. Will never recommend him to anyone. I called him the same day I did my review to tell him to never mind about the estimate but left a message as he did not answer the phone. He called me back within 5 minutes when he found out he lost out on business. I don't know if it was that I told him I was paying in cash on why he got back to be so quick right then but it is his loss. It is only good customer service to do what you say and when you say 1 or 2 days for a written estimate then that means 1 or 2 days. If you cannot do that then just call the customer and they will most likely understand the delay. But not responding for weeks is just bad customer service and only when you find out that you are losing out on cash money do you call the customer is just down right rude to the customer.

+ -1 moreThe estimator arrived right on time and wrote out my estimate, which was the lowest of three estimates I had received. I paid my deposit ($1,000) and we scheduled the job; the installers showed up exactly when they were supposed to. At the end of the first day the posts were set and all looked fine. The installers called me at the end of their second day to let me know they were finished so I could come and pay the remainder of the balance ($1,400). When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was a 2" gap between the closed gate and the post. I didn't say anything, although I thought this looked shoddy. I then noticed that where the fence was supposed to attach to the house, there was an open space that was nearly a full picket width - the fence stopped a good 4" shy of the house. When I commented on this, the installer informed me that it looked like my dog was too fat to squeeze through, so it should be okay. He offered to leave me a picket so I could fix it myself. I took him up on that. Great. I get to look forward to going home and fixing my brand new fence. Nice going, guys.

+ 0 moreWell, it went very well. They were always on time, they finished the project in a timely matter and we're respectful. It was a free estimate and they never bothered my family, and they always let us know when they would be working.
Description of Work: Perfect Fence Company built a fence in my backyard. It was built on 3 sides and we stained it for the finish. It is a 5' tall tight picket cedar fence with cedar pickets and 2x4's. The fence was built two summers ago, and still looks perfect to this day. There's a little bit of wear, but it's nicely done. It definitely upgraded the house.
