Got three quotes, and hand's down, Neighborhood Painting was the way to go! From the initial consultation to the finished product was nothing but professional. They were not the cheapest, but if you want a quality job, Neighborhood Painting is the company you want. We changed the paint scheme and could not be happier with the end product ... our house looks FANTASTIC!!! Thank you Ryan and crew for doing such a phenomenal job!

We went with Neighborhood Painting because of the rigorous process that Ryan went through inspecting our home and documenting the areas that needed to be addressed. Our home had been neglected for some time and there was wood rot repair needed prior to the paint being applied. He addressed my anxieties and told me what they would do to address those. The previous homeowners had done a number of patch jobs throughout out the house and it was poor quality. Ryan assured of the both the products he would use as well as the way the paint would be applied that the house would be in great shape after the job was done. In the process we also uncovered a rim joist that needed repair where part of the deck used to be. He had his master carpenter come and repair that as well which was a big job! Ryan was flexible with scheduling since we had a concrete job going on at the same time as well as a deck replacement job right after him! He was very responsive to our questions and made sure any concerns we had in the process were answered and addressed very timely. My wife and I love the new look of our home and we very much appreciate all the work done by Ryan and his team. We have the confidence knowing the job was done right!!

I don't see how this experience could have been any better! They spent a number of days here and had quite the crew. They had great attention to detail and I am highly satisfied.

If you don't like reading long reviews, then let me start by saying that if you are considering any other painting contractor for your home...STOP! I've done all the homework for you and can safely say you need to call Neighborhood Painting and don't consider anybody else for the job. There are a lot of good painting companies in the Kansas City area, but none of them will measure up to Neighborhood Painting. Here is the rest of the review... From the initial onsite walk through, to the proposal, to the completed work done in my home Neighborhood Painting exceed every expectation I had for a contractor. Ryan completed the initial walk through and provided a proposal based on my requests, but even highlighted areas that I was not considering based on his experience and expertise. None of his recommendations were intended to increase a sale opportunity, but were made with the knowledge and experience I did not have in this area. When I received the proposal all of the service options recommended by Ryan were included, and the estimate that was better than most of the other proposals I received. The proposal included step-by-step instructions of what Neighborhood Painting was going to do and the cost for all of the services was on par or better than all other estimates. Several companies did not even come close to preparing their proposals with the same level of detail and service offerings Neighborhood Painting provides. When the painters arrived at the house they were extremely polite and professional. They surveyed the work to be done, developed a plan of action, and began setting up right away. Everything in the house was protected before the first paint can was opened. Throughout the job they maintained a level of professionalism you don't normally see with contractors. They were always on time, remained considerate of our family being in the house, and took the time to make sure everything that needed to be painted was done with a high level of excellence. I am certain the other painting crews would have taken the same or more time as Neighborhood Painting without the same level of professionalism. The best part of Neighborhood Painting was their attention to detail. I could not believe a paint crew was approaching this job as if it was their own house, but every day they worked in my house that is exactly what they did. Detail, detail, and more detail throughout the entire job. In areas where I would accepted the painting work, the Neighborhood Painting team worked the area again until it met their high standards. At the end of the work days the team cleaned up and made sure my home was not left in a state of disarray. I also want to give credit to Jamie the Office Manager for Neighborhood Painting. He kept me informed of everything their team was doing and was always responding to my questions or calls in a timely matter. I am already planning to use Neighborhood Painting for future work and have highly recommended their services to friends and coworkers. As long as I live in Kansas City and Ryan keep running Neighborhood Painting I will not consider any other company.

Ryan and his team of carpenters and painters were exceptional. The bids were comperensive and timely, the workers professional and kind and the house looks beautiful. I highly recommend this company!

Neighborhood Painting did a fantastic paint job on the exterior of my house. They kept to the communicated schedule, were extremely efficient and thorough and kept everything clean and picked up at the end of the day. I hadn’t thought about painting my garage door and they suggested it, completed it nicely at no extra charge. They repainted my 4 outside doors after I changed my mind on the color – no hassle or complaints, just very accommodating. They even painted areas I never would have thought should be painted. Their price was in line with other estimates I received. I am very happy with the end result and would highly recommend their services to anyone.

They did a really good job. They were very meticulous and professional.

Excellent work and service. I'd use these guys again. They have two crews, one for prep work (found wood needing repair, window glazing, etc.) and one for painting. The first crew works a week before the second. Both did excellent work. We are very satisfied. They were the cheapest of three bids, and they were excellent. They even painted under our deck (I hadn't thought of that). I asked for a couple of small items and they added them in immediately without extra charge.

It was great. The owner, Ryan, came and gave me the estimates. He was very professional and courteous. The crew really worked. They found a couple of extra things that we hadn't noticed. They talked to me about it and asked me how I wanted to handle it. They kept in touch. It was actually a pretty easy experience. There were no problems at all.

We had an incredibly positive experience with Neighborhood Painting (NP). As we sought estimates for work on our home, we were disappointed with the discussions with most other contractors. A great concern for us was water/rain. NP seemed to be the only group that truly understood this concern. We were impressed with their emphasis on the preparation before even touching a paint brush. They understood our concern about the importance of the caulking process. They were incredibly diligent in their preparation for painting. They identified more wood rot than we could see. They caulked everything. We liked their approach. They planned to bring in their prep/wood rot crew one week and a week later they would bring in the painting crew. They truly emphasize this first stage unlike anybody else we spoke with. Initially, I was surprised by the expense of this job, but their price was in line with other estimates for a >8500 sq ft home. My request of Ryan was that they stick to their estimate and not "nickle and dime" us as they began the project. NP honored this, while replacing far more wood rot than I anticipated. After they had finished the job, we identified an additional area of wood rot that was more difficult to correct since it involved gutter work. Since its repair would involve an outside gutter company, we were initially given an estimate of an additional $600. However, NP promptly returned to complete the work. Ryan kept his word. There was no additional charge. We had a great experience with NP and would definitely use them again.

Two months ago, I contacted Neighborhood Painting. Ryan came over promptly on the day we arranged, and analyzed the house exterior with me. Later, I was emailed an estimate including project details. I submitted my agreement to the terms. I communicated with Ryan and Jaime by phone, text, and email. I met with Liz, their design consultant, to determine the colors. I also communicated with Juan on site. Prep work (wood rot repair, caulking, and power-washing) was done first, and nicely done. The painting of the house was started and completed ahead of schedule. The windows and storm windows were cleaned, and new house numbers and light fixtures were installed. Everything looks great and professional, and everyone at Neighborhood Painting were professional, accommodating, and great to deal with.

I believe this painter wants to do the job right. I didn't proceed with the job. I need to reschedule this job & the prep it entails in the early Summer after I have a new roof and flashing(s) installed first.

Neighborhood Painting provided a timely and very thorough estimate. The work started on schedule and was completed without delay. All employees were totally professional, courteous, and extremely responsive. Working with Jaime and Ryan was one of the best contractor experiences we have ever had. All work performed was of the highest quality. Careful attention was paid to detail and we were consulted anytime there was a question. The stucco repair was challenging and finished to our complete satisfaction. The wood rot repair and painting exceeded expectations.

I found somebody else for a better price.

Just great! They did everything in the estimate and more. They operate with two crews, a prep crew and a paint crew. Never has this house been prepared for painting the way they did. We have shake shingle siding and they scraped and primed it down to look better than it ever has. The paint crew did the most superb job ever. They used good paint and were able to match our color exactly. These guys work as if it is their own house! Most professional and polite. They arrived before 8am and worked until the job was completed. They cleaned up all paint chips from the scrapping and left things better than they found them! I can't say enough positive things about this company. Thank goodness I found them on Angie's List.

After several phone calls the company came to my house and told my wife that the job was too big and that he would be glad to provide us with a new quote. When asked how much he replied oh, a lot more. He indicated that his special was for very small jobs. Nothing in the ad reflected anything about the size of the job. To me this was a bait and switch. I want a refund as soon as possible.

PROBABLY THE MOST PROFESSIONAL PAINTER I'V EVER USED! STUNNING WORK!

I would highly recommend Neighborhood Painting. I interviewed and received quotes from 7 different companies before I decided to use Neighborhood Painting. The company stood out above the others with their professionalism, honesty, and expertise. Their bid wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive of the estimates that I received. Initially, they seemed to really want my business. They prepared and presented their estimate within 24 hours. They also called me to see if I had any questions. They have a paint consultant. I met with her to choose my colors. She came to my house. The wood rot crew worked for 4 days on my house before it was painted. They repaired an extensive amount of wood rot, including rebuilding my windows, cleaning the gutters, and prepping the house for painting. My house sits on a hill and is a tall two story and they were able to successfully repair everything located up high. At the end of each day, everything was cleaned up. They worked hard and even came on Sunday to work. The paint crew had a team of about 8 - 10 people. They also worked efficiently for three days and did an awesome job. The house looks beautiful and I have received many compliments on it.

We did not use this company simply because we went with a family friend. Very nice people.

Summary: This is the best experience I've had with a painter, or any contractor, in the past 20 years. Good communication, great crew, and fantastic service. No doubt we will be using Neighborhood Painting again in the future. Details: I scheduled a time for Ryan, the owner, to come out and bid the job. He showed up on time, was very thorough, and explained everything that would be done. Within 24 hours I had a bid, including pictures, in my email. At the time, the bid seemed high, and was on the upper end of the 5 bids that I received. At the time of the bid, lead time was approximately 2 months due to the weather. This was not an issue for me and was consistent with all the other companies that bid the job. The next day, I received a call from Jaime, the manager of operations, to see if I had received the bid and asked if I had any questions. After getting all my bids, I decided to go with Neighborhood Painting based on reviews here and the "sales pitch" that I got from Ryan when he came to bid the job. When I use the phrase "sales pitch" I mean it in a positive way. Within a month, I get an email asking if I've chosen my colors because they were ready to start prepping the next week. If you've read any of the other reviews, you know that Ryan has separate crews for prepping and painting. The prep crew showed up when expected and chipped away at all the lead paint. They were careful around all the landscaping next to the house and cleaned up every night, even vacuuming the lawn for the smallest chips of paint. They were very thorough in caulking every crack, seam, and nail head they could fine and make sure I was happy each night before they left. The prep took 2 days. Just shy of a week later, the paint crew showed up. These guys are prompt, start early in the morning, and get a full days work in. They were quick to point out where the prep crew missed and corrected those issue on the spot. There were a few spots that I had to point out where after a couple days I could see where more scraping needed to occur, but they agreed and took care of it. The guy leading the paint crew was real good at always verifying what color went where and kept us informed what they were going to get done that day. They cleaned up every night and left the place spotless. On the last day, we came home to find that hey had repainted the house numbers, porch light, mailbox, plant hangers, and hose hanger. This was a nice touch that we weren't expecting. When all the painting was done, the project manager came out with the crew lead for a final walk through. After a thumbs up from the PM, the remaining paint was left in the garage. Great Job Guys! *Because they were able to start earlier than expected, I wasn't able to get the garage door replaced before the paint job. I communicated this to Ryan and he made this a non-issue. I let him know when the garage door was in (a week after they finished painting) and he sent a guy out to finish up the door. This is a top notch operation. Ryan and his crew are the real deal. This is how all contractors should operate. What painting company gives a 5 year warranty on their work? This one, because they do excellent work! To top it off, he doesn't collect a dime till the job is done! This was my first time using Neighborhood painting, but will definitely be my go-to crew for all my painting needs in the future.

They were thorough and polite. Customer Service is his main thing and we are very happy about it. They went above and beyond the service.

They did a thorough quality job, one crew came and spent the whole day caulking and scraping and filling and prepping for painting. They also noticed our porch post was rotten and replaced it for us along with some wood rot on window sills and some shingles. A week or so later another crew came to do the painting, it looks really nice, they did a great job.
