Went very well. Estimate and design was done well and to our liking. Work started soon after and only took 10 business days, which was great considering it was right around the holidays. Same two guys worked on the entire project so it was nice to know exactly who was in my house each day. Very responsive to our needs. They did very well cleaning the mess and making sure not to disturb the rest of the house. Even when they did make a mistake with the shower head that was asked for, they were quick to fix the issue. Overall, would highly recommend!
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Tore out and replaced damaged sheet rock, replaced plumbing lines, removed old bathtub and installed new soaking tub, tiled around tub, installed tile floor, replaced old single sink vanity with a new double sink vanity, tore out pony wall, installed light over tub/shower, painted bathroom.

We have used Jericho in the past for kitchen and bath remodeling, that is why we used them again when we bought a new house. There sales people and project managers are knowledgeable and polite. They can have your ideas quoted within hours and they are pretty fast with their installs. We probably wouldn't take a chance using anyone else for remodeling kitchens and baths.

The bid was higher than others but we decided to use them anyway because we'd heard good things about them. We weren't impressed with the salesperson; he seemed new and he was. Initially we were told it would be about 4 weeks before starting, but it ended up being sooner. T.J. Was our installer and was very professional and he corrected an oversight by the salesperson, which made me very happy! We wish Jericho had a larger selection of granite to choose from. We love our new bathroom with no leaks.

Difficult to schedule appointment. My husband had to call supervisor to get response. Bid was too high. Brought several shades of beige tile and was annoyed when I requested more choices with color. Stated that the beige colors where what people in Johnson County use. I could care less about other people's choices. Not helpful.

representative came out on time promised and was very responsive to what I was asking. He had some suggestions and stated what the company could do. Very professional at time of visit, after, kept being told that quote would be ready in next week. After the initial posting of this comment, received call from local manager- Eric Homer from Jericho to ask for more details from this project. After we talked, there was an internal mis-communication that led to a wrong date on their records. This led to rep not returning calls due to info he had was that he was not supposed to call back until August (I had mentioned that we were looking for project completion by August 23, 2013 and to start July 3, 2013- what got put into record was that rep was to return to home AFTER August 23 to complete bid). I now believe that the company has a REAL desire to make sure customer is taken care with quality work and make sure customer is happy with work. The project is now under way with another contractor and current bid is no longer needed, however, we are looking for additional work in next year, so we will put Jericho high up on our list of who we will consider (Jericho will be number one choice). I appreciate such an prompt response by company and willing to make things better. This says a lot about company wanting to make sure that all work is held at the highest standard. Had communication been consistent with project dates, we would have considered Jericho.
Description of Work: asked for a quote for a large multi layer project (s). Agent came out to review details and stated that quote would be sent to us within 1-2 weeks. After 4 weeks and 4 phone calls to both company and direct to representative, never received quote.

I needed mostly tile work done on the floor in a large masterbath and one wall tiled where a wall mounted bath faucet would sit. I needed this tile work and removal of a whirlpool tub so I could set down a free standing tub. I was also needing dry wall replaced on part of three walls and some skim coating on a wall where I had taken down a large mirror and the two vanities painted. My first quote was for 12,000K My family heard of the cost and went ballistic. So they got involved asking what would cost so much especially when I was not even getting a quote for tile installation... the quote was for vinyl flooring instead. I was then given a quote for 6,000K with virtually no explanation as to why I was quoted so much in the first place. My family was not happy and I felt deceived. I cancelled the contract because I felt that I could not trust this company. I was given another bid for 4,000K including tile replacement in my shower which I gladly accepted. I would just strongly recommend that people get several quotes when needing home improvements. Do your homework and find out the actual cost in getting various projects done...like tile replacement, and dry wall replacement. Don't just let some salesperson give you a song and dance about costs that are written in a remodeling magazine. You may come out thousands ahead in costs.
Description of Work: I decided to cancel the service because I was quoted a price way above what I needed to have done in services.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
(removed member name) called Jericho and requested an appointment with a designer. During that appointment, we explained in great detail the installation processes, product quality, and customer satisfaction guarantees that are a part of every Jericho project. In addition, our designer listened intently to the needs of (removed member name) in regards to her bath remodel project. After a significant effort by both (removed member name) and our designer, an agreement was reached that included a job scope that meet the needs of (removed member name), as well as a cost she believed to be a value for the work being done. Our designer received a phone call later that same evening from (removed member name) daughter, who was only given the price of the project, and had no information on the processes, product quality, or guarantees that contribute to our company's project pricing. Concerned for our customers satisfaction, our designer immediately offered to go back out to see (removed member name) and adjust the project scope. Our designer also informed (removed member name) daughter that Jericho's manager would join him in an effort to assure full company cooperation in caring for her mother's project. Her daughter told our designer not to bring his manager, that she would meet with him and provide a new project scope and budget. The second meeting (the first with (removed member name) daughter included) was very brief, and our designer was given specific parameters on both scope of work and budget. Then, after the daughter had left for work, our designer and (removed member name) sat down and we arrived at a complete redesign on both work to be done and price. Again, (removed member name) was happy with the new agreement. Again, our designer received a call from the daughter, and again, our designer was happy to schedule a third meeting. This process repeated itself a third time, with the same result. It is obvious that (removed member name) daughter was simply looking out for their mothers well being. She should be commended for that. It is unfortunate that Jericho could never schedule a time to sit with both (removed member name) and her daughter to give a complete picture of how and why we do business in a way that has produced thousands of satisfied customers for Jericho. We hope (removed member name) finds a company that her and her family feel comfortable with. She certainly deserves that.

They did a really good job from start to finish. They were competitive. I went with them because they had better prices. They were punctual and they let me come and look at the granite that I wanted. Everything was good. It was a good experience all around. They came and cleaned up after themselves. I didn't have any problem getting it installed. It was good and in and out. They were thorough. The fabricator came and did the measurements. He also came and helped with the installation. He knew what he was doing because he fabricated the granite for me. They did what they said they would do.

I chose Jericoh Home Improvements to update my kitchen. New hardwood floors and granite counter tops were installed. Cabinets were updated and refinished to blend in with the new hardwood floor beautifully. Originally the project was scheduled further out than I had hoped for; however, Barry Hansel was able to move the project up. He provided a timeline for work to be completed each week, and it was awesome to know what to expect and what I needed to do. Aaron, Ray and Barry along with all of the crews were either consistently on time or notified me in advance of any slight delays. I am extremely pleased with the professionalism, expertise and craftsmanship of everyone I have dealt with at Jericoh, and am very excited to start the two new bathroom remodeling projects that have been designed and are on the schedule. My new kitchen is absolutely beautiful. It is a large country kitchen and a great gathering place for family and friends. I am very proud to show it off. If it's quality and professionalism at a competitive price that you are looking for, choose Jericoh Home Improvements.
Description of Work: Remodeled 13 year old kitchen with new granite counter tops increasing the island to include breakfast bar, raising the center section of wall cabinets and mounting micro wave oven above range, refinishing all cabinets, island and buffet, installed new solid oak floor and new appliances.

Start to finish it went really well. As we added on more we thought there would be a break in the construction but they stayed on the job without a break to the end. Sounds like a big job but only took a couple of weeks and we could use most of the bathroom most of the time. They were very conscientious about having the bathroom usable as much as possible. There were no problems or excuses. We were extremely happy.
Description of Work: Started out having master shower gutted and new base and walls re-tiled, new plumbing and glass doors. Did great job so had granite vanity and 2 sinks installed. Went ahead and had floor torn out and re-tiled, replaced toilet and jacuzzi. Also had full-wall mirror removed and replaced with 2 framed mirrors. Basically ended up gutting master bath and replacing. The installer was very good, professional, prompt, and cleaned up every day before he left. Jericho did a wonderful job all the way from owner to project manager to installer. Would highly recommend.

I am a single woman and own my lovely home. I began my kitchen counter quest by mapping my countertops to scale and making several copies. I had gathered some broad figures from places like Lowe's and Home Depot. The countertops are my fifth major project. Jericho was the first company I interviewed with at home. Jericho was the first time I had seriously considered granite. The salesman seemed very knowledgeable and I had a lot of confidence from his presentation and from the Angie's List reviews on countertops that they would do a good job. The final price that afternoon was supposedly good for that day and that day only. I had to coax him to give me a few extra days to get some other bids; getting other bids in just four more days was ridiculous because of an impending snowstorm and my other scheduled committments. I don't buy anything with that kind of sales pressure and downgraded Jericho's professionalism because of it. They never called back to follow up with the estimate. Their price did turn out to be higher than other quotes. I was advised by a small businessman who installs kitchens to always get 3 quotes. Do get several quotes. Do "talk it up" with your friends/neighbors/coworkers/contractors about their experiences. Don't succumb to the savvy salesman who wants an answer NOW! Do begin gathering ideas about how you want a project to look and function way in advance, saving magazine photos, color ideas, narratives from professionals and friends.
Description of Work: I had home visit and estimate of what it would cost to replace my kitchen counters. I had hoped to look at Corian but they didn't have it. Beyond the estimate, I had no services performed.

Using this contracting company was the worst mistake I could have made. Looking back I wish I would have used someone else to complete the kitchen remodel. Althought the end result is nice, the experience will keep me from using this company again in the future.
Description of Work: The company kept pushing back the promised start date however failed to communicate that with me. I had to keep calling to find out when to expect someone at my home. They started 4 months late and brought the wrong style out to begin with. Although the installers were friendly they themselves had nonstop complaints on the office and their customer service. The remodel of my kitchen was the worst experience I have had with a contract company in my home. The new counter tops and back splash look very nice however there are still dried clumps of grout stuck to the back splash. I rather live with a few improfections than have them come back to my home to fix them.

Didn't hire them. They were extremely expensive on their bid
Description of Work: We called to have a bid for a relatively small project. The estimator was prompt in making time to bid our job; however, when we got the bid, it was over 3 times what other people had bid for comparable work. We emailed them letting them know the were significantly more expensive and did not receive a response. They may do good work; but for that price; we would recommend doing your homework and saving thousands.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
Our goal is to make Raving Fans out of all our customers and potential customers. It looks like this was the case with you with the exception of price. However, allow me to correct you by saying this appointment was for granite counter tops not windows. The estimate was for demoing out the countertops and tile in the kitchen and replacing it with granite counter tops with half bullnose edge, a custom tile backsplash with accent strip, new electrical for GFCI outlets, new plumbing and drain for a faucet, a moen faucet and composite sink. Our price was $7,985 with the coupon rendered not $9,200. I think you will find that no one using the same materials will be able to beat this price. And absolutely no one will be able to beat our quality and service. We also put a price match guarantee on all our estimates that we will match or beat anyone price using the same materials.

Called Jericho to sit up appointment to have bathroom remodeled. Explained I got their name off Angies list. The lady then asked me if there was a "mr". I stated no, she then asked me if I was the sole owner. I stated I was. Gave me the option of Friday eve, or Monday eve. I requested Monday, ask that person coming call prior to arriving due to fact I am a hospice nurse and can run late. She then abruptly stated she could not book the appoinment. I am a believer in customer service, and really feel like she feel short, really sad for company I am refinancing and have funds for remodeling. She lost them a big job. Funny how I was making sure her employee did not have to wait on me, and she consisdered it an imposition to have them call on their way. since I have to rate all of company, I will give a c to those that should be NA. because I could not even get an appointment, never got to a cost.

We decided to redo the carpet floor in the master bathroom. Jericho advertises not only complete remodels but they say you get the "complete Jericho customer service experience" on small projects too. Absolutely true! We asked them to bid on replacing the carpet with tile. When the designer came to the house for the consultation, he not only listened to what we wanted to do but also took the time to review the entire bathroom and suggest a couple of other things that not only would not substantially increase the cost of the project but infinitely improved upon our ideas. We went from the idea of tile to the reality of heated tile and a backsplash on the jacuzzi tub to match the new floor. The designer helped us find just the right tile and within a day or two, our project manager was at the house, reviewing the project and finalizing the materials order. Once the materials were in, Jericho lived up to its promise of starting a job and then finishing it. The installation technician was kind, courteous, fast and trustworthy. He was in our home, alone, for at least 50% of the install process and we had not a single concern. He finished the demolition and installation in less time than promised, and even did a couple of other improvements to the bathroom on the fly, improvements that were not part of the original deal. When he was done, the project manager came by again (he had been in contact throughout the project as well), did a final inspection and presented us with our warranty. The master bathroom is stunning. Execution of the job surpassed all promises and we received great quality and value. A new granite counter top in the kitchen is next and Jericho will definitely get our business again.

The workers arrived on time or early every day they worked. Everything was covered with tarps so there was no mess for me to clean up. In the evening when they left they removed all the tarp and put it back down the next day. They were neat, quick and did an excellent job. This was just a small job but i will use them for my next major endeavor with no hesitation.

Jericho gave us a timeline and it was absolutely right on. Each crew was so professional, friendly and highly skilled. Each crew did a great job of cleaning up each day and were very friendly working In our home and were very patient with our questions. We were very pleased with the total remodel and are thrilled with our new kitchen. It is exactly what we wanted! We had a job manager, and he was in contact with the workers and with us each day. The designer worked with us at several meetings to make sure we understood each step and to make sure the end product was what we were expecting.
Description of Work: A total kitchen remodel. The old kitchen was completely removed along with three walls. A wall was added to make the new kitchen much larger. We had a great deal of new electrical wiring added, plumbing was added for the bar sink area, a new garden window was put in above the sink area, new wall board was added to complete the new wall area in the kitchen and laundry room area. New cabinets were installed topped by a beautiful granite, and the cabinets were custom built and are of outstanding craftsmanship and color. New wood was added to the wooden floor where the three walls were taken out. The floor crew did an excellent job of sanding and refinishing the floor, which blended perfectly with the family room floor. New lights were added to the ceiling and the ceiling was then repaired and textured.

I didn't think it would take from 7/9/12 to 8/22/12 to complete a small bathroom.
Description of Work: During the remodeling stages, the contractor installed a VERY small sink (look like a prison sink). The faucet was to big for the "prison sink." According to my work order it stated I was to have a pedestal sink. I called the Senior Designer and complain about the "prison sink", it was corrected, A pedestal sink was installed. When the pedestal sink was installed, when you ran water in the sink, water would leak from the pipes in the basement to the basement floor. That was corrected. Then the sink was clogged, the sink has never been clogged before the installing of the pedestal sink. The contractor said he tried to unclog the drain, but he could not. He told me I have to get someone to unclog the sink or if I had a family member that is a plumber to come and unclog the sink. Well, good thing I have family members that are plumbers.

Our experience with Jericho was not pleasant. It took three months for work to begin. We were lied to and misled from the beginning. They were not our lowest bid but we agreed to go with them because they promised things the other three companies had not. Soon after the work started we realized that they had lied. We spent a year just trying to get things fixed. We will now have to pay more money to complete it.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
We would like to apologize for the delay in the job start. That was our fault. At that particular time of the year we are usually running at an 8 week backlog. We informed you that your approximate job start would be 8 weeks and unfortunately it took us 11 weeks due to a product mis-order. We were sure to let you know of this unfortunate delay the second we had knowledge that the product came in wrong and put a rush order on the correct product to get it in as soon as possible. When the project was already under way you had asked to add to the scope of the project, which is a request we are always happy to accommodate. However, when we gave a price the response was that it “should be included”. We graciously explained that in fact the additions you were asking for were clearly not included and therefore were not charged or listed on the original signed contract. The entire job was done in a little over a week and everything on the original contract was professionally installed. The finished bathroom looks gorgeous! Our goal is to make raving fans of all our customers and to go out of our way to make customers happy. We felt we did everything possible to make you happy including going out to your house several times over a year after the project was completed (which is uncustomary as warranty is for one year) to fix problems not normally covered under our service contract and not covered under warranty. We wanted to make sure you knew that we always stand by our products and installation regardless of the issue. Unfortunately it sounds that our extra effort was not well received or appreciated. No company is perfect but we do our very best to come close. Please remember, remodeling is one of the toughest jobs on both you as the homeowner, since it is your home being torn up and put back together, as well as on the remodeler, as it takes special effort and consideration to customers homes while doing very invasive services. We feel we do an excellent job and have received many customer testimonials and referrals that prove as much. There is no doubt we have the best bathroom craftsman in Kansas City. We remodel over 700 bathrooms a year and are widely considered to be the leading experts in the greater metro area.

Our home has pickled oak throughout and it has been our dream to replace (rip out and burn!) it all ever since we bought our home. When we did our research and found out that we could not afford all new cabinetry, the professionals at Jericho suggested glazing the cabinets as an affordable alternative. While we were very hesitant at first, we could not be more satisfied with the results. And the complements we have recieved since the work was completed confirms we made the right decision. They were quick to respond to my questions and gave me frequent updates on the progress and project timeline. My happiness with the process was a top priority with everyone involved. I was expessially impressed that even though we weren't hiring them for a total remodel of the bathrooms, we never felt like a second rate customer.

We contacted Jericho in June of 2011 to give us an estimate to remodle our master bathroom. A representative came in and sat down with us to go over what we wanted to do. We discussed replacing our vanity, and fixtures. Adding new tile around the garden tub and floor along with tile in the shower and adding a glass enclosure. We also asked to replace all drywall that was damaged due to previous wall paper removal and change the popcorn ceiling. The representative suggested adding a access panel on for the garden tub for access to the plumming in case of future problems. We pick our colors for the tile, vanity, mirrors and all fixtures. Several weeks later a different representative came over to discuss what we wanted and to make sure everything we discussed was annoted. We confirmed with the 2nd representative that we wanted to start this job in November so that we could coincide our vacation time with the remodel time. In November we contacted Jericho to confirm the start date and they never put on the calendar so we were not schedule for the date we requested. The work actually started 2 days late because we forced the issue with the project manager. The first day was demo day. Everything was removed from the bathroom except the tub. All the water lines were turned off and capped (so they thought). After the crew of one left for the day the water was not turned back on for the house so my husband turned the water back on and when he did the caps on the pipes to the vanity did not hold and it flooded the bathroom. Thank goodness, I heard a loud noice and went into the bathroom and found that the water was spewing from the pipes. I immediatley yelled to my husband to turn the water off. Once it was off we noticed the water leaked into the ceiling to the family room underneath causing the ceiling in the family room to collapse in a 4x4 section onto my new hardwood floors and leather furnture. I contacted the project manager and he sent the crewman back to the house to determine if there was any damage. Of course we took pictures of the ceiling. They recapped the pipes and tested them to make sure they were secured before they turned the water back on. The crewman pulled down more of the ceiling to make sure that all the water was gone and to get an idea of the damage and to let the area dry out. Jericho did fix the ceiling in a 6x6 area and repainted twice to blend with the rest of the ceiling. Over the next several days the one individual worked by replacing pieces of drywall and not all like we had originally thought. Before the drywall was finished he asked about the paint color for the bathroom. The project manager indicated that there was no mention in the original plan for them to paint. So it would cost us addtional to have them paint. We purchased for the paint and then had to pay for them to paint the room. After several weeks of work the job was completed. After they left we found that the light fixures over the mirrors are not at the same height. The hot and cold water lines were reversed on the vanity for one of the sinks. The shower dial is also backwards. If you want cold water you have to go the "sun" and if you want hot water you have to go to the "snowflake". The shower wand has no water pressure at all and is practically useless. I have grout on the floor that was never cleaned up in the master closet. I did not recieve the access panel on the face of the tub surround even after it was shown to us on what it was going to look like by the first representative and mentioned to the project manager at least one other time. The individual that did the work was great. He did a great job. I didn't trust the project manager at all.
Description of Work: Jericho was to remove and replace the vanity. Replace the "contractors mirror" with two individual medicine cabinet mirrors that were to be flush with the wall. Replace the single light fixture over the mirror with 1 fixture over each mirror. Replace all the faucets fixtures for the tub, shower and vanity. Replace the tile around the tub and add an access panel for the pluming underneath. Replace the shower enclosure to a glass enclosure. Remove all the flooring and add tile to the bathroom floor and master closet floor. Remove the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom and closet to a knock down textured ceiling.

Overall it did not go well. The first person they sent out was unprofessional. The second person they sent out was great, professional, thorough, definitely knew what he was doing. But in the end I had to contact them more than once to get the bid and their price was so far out of the ballpark (high) that I didn't even keep their bid in the pile.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
We apologize for your initial visit with us. It sounds like you were not given the usual Jericho Service, which we as a company find completely unacceptable and have launched an investigation as to why. Our goal is to make Raving fans of all potential customers whether they choose Jericho for their remodeling needs or not. The first designer you saw was only with us for a short period of time as we agree with you, that he did not hold up to our standards of service and value. Dave (the second designer you met) is a great designer as well as a stand up guy and has been with us for several years now. We are very sorry we could not earn your business. We do however want you to be aware that we have a price match guarantee on all of our estimates, meaning we will beat anyone’s price. If we can do anything for you at this point, please do not hesitate to call our customer service specialists at 913-596-0000.
