They did everything from 3D computer modeling of the new kitchen to finished product. They were prompt and professional and followed through on all services promised. Due to some unforseen wiring situations and plumbing (at no extra charge), the six week job turned into eight but we were told that ahead of time and made accomodations for it. The project manager was responsive, curtious and professional.

First project went pretty flawless, since the first in-home consultation we had, till completion and walk out of finished project, I was extremely please with them. Second time this year was pretty much a repeat of two years ago, same quality work and honesty as the first one, very pleased once again, I'll definitely use them as well as refer them to friends and family.
Description of Work: The first project 9/15/2009 was a complete Master bath remodel with marble shower walls and spa shower heads, upgraded glass doors, shower floor, etc. It ended up being a beauty. Second project this year 7/10/2011 was a basement/main level remodeling, switch carpet for tile floors in basement, knocked down a couple of walls to make room bigger, moving a bar and making it bigger, re staining wood floors on main level, changing spindles on stairs to wrought iron, staining stair railings, etc.

the Jericho sale rep told me it would take about 1 week from the start of the project, which was supposed to be early June. they delayed it a week because the handmade cabinets were not ready. so when they started a week later it was going to take a lot more weeks than one, per the worker because of the piping that had to be redone in the floor and other things. then when he finally got to the point to install the cabinets a few weeks later the medicine cabinet was the wrong size so the cabinet maker had to redo the medicine cabinet. the worker finished the install of the tub and shower walls and decided to finsh the flooring while waiting on the cabinet. the cabinet took more than another month to get ready and when they tried to install it the floor cabinet did not fit the laundry shoot properly. so there was a lot of talking and discussing and finally weeks later it was decided to do with what i mentioned so that we could finish the project. so more than 2 months after the original finsh date it was finished. even though there were things that were not the way i wanted, it was still good enough to look nice. so the biggest issue i saw was that there was no communication between the salesman and the workers to get a proper estimate and the cabinet maker is just making his stuff without knowing anything about where it is going or how it is to fit in it's space.
Description of Work: Jericho remodeled our bathroom. this included installing a new tub and shower as well as installing a hand made cabinet and medicine cabinet and installing new sconces for lighting and tiling the floor and installing a new fart fan with light where there was none.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely regret the delay you experienced during our remodeling process. One of the challenges with installing customized cabinetry is that we are always at the mercy of our cabinet maker to deliver cabinets when promised. If they are late, the entire process is delayed and that reflects poorly on us. Though we don't find this to be a common problem with our vendors, it does happen from time to time, as was the case with your project. In addition, in remodeling we sometimes find hidden “surprises” after we begin our work, such as we discovered with the piping in your floor. We try to do everything we can to communicate the issue with the homeowner and explain how it will affect the project timeline. Obviously our team did not do a good job of communicating with you about this unexpected problem, and for that we are truly sorry. We strive to provide superior customer service and communication with our customers during the entire process. That's why we have our personal cell phone numbers listed on every contract. If there is an issue that cannot get resolved to our customer’s satisfaction, we want to hear about it. As the owners of the company, nothing is more important to us than happy customers, or as we say around the office, "raving fans." Your feedback will allow us to fine tune our production process and hopefully avoid this in the future. Again, thank you for your feedback, and for your business. It was a really great experience all around. The office set up a meeting at our convenience on a weekend for a sales person to come meet with us. He showed us examples of tiles and pictures of other remodels that they had done and it really helped us decide what colors and what we wanted to do. A project manager was assigned to our "job" as well as the skilled worker. It was nice being able to talk to either one of them if we had questions. The person that did the work on our bathroom was professional, mature, friendly and did a really great job on the bathroom too! He was punctual and very courteous and we knew right away we could trust him. He gave us his card so we could also contact him directly if we had any questions. We were able to finance the job and it all worked out great. We're very pleased and I have and would again definitely recommend Jericho for a bathroom or kitchen remodel.

Contacted Jericho to receive a bid on kitchen remodel. First visit was great as we walked through the project. Followup visit was 'supposed' to involve the Jericho rep showing me what design ideas he had come up with that I might want to pursue so that he could develop an accurate bid. Jericho rep showed up completely unprepared. He got his computer out and opened up his 3D program and proceeded to 'design' my kitchen while I watched. He had completely forgotten everything we had discussed during our first visit. It was a complete waste of time. At that point, I asked him to leave and send me his quote when he was finished with his design work. When informed later that week that I would be receiving a quote in a few days, I told the Jericho folks not to bother.

I was very happy with them. They were very careful with all the things. They made sure that there was no scratch in our hardwood floors when they were doing their work and I was very impressed with that. I would rate them high overall. They were a little bit pricy. I would use them again in the future.

We called for an estimate. I explained on the phone that I have (at the time) 4 month old twins. We scheduled our appointment later in the afternoon to accommodate my twins' schedule. When he showed up, he lingered in the dining room for over an hour sharing stories of his own children and "chit chatting" in spite of our "let's get down to business" demeanor. We tried to keep him on point but to no avail. Eventually, we headed upstairs to actually look at the bathroom. I shared my ideas about how this very tricky and unusual floor plan could be designed and asked him for his ideas. After an hour plus of talking in circles, he eventually regurgitated my own idea to me. He explained he could do this work himself, if this were his bathroom, for less $8K and it'd be "the bomb". We got a quote for over $30,000 even though as he described it our taste (from one to ten) are a 5 or a 7. Because we go to bed early (9pm) we actually had to ask him to leave. He said, "Who goes to bed at 9?" We do. The estimate showed up much later (a week) than I told me I could expect it. Poster child for unprofessional.

I could not be happier with Jericho!! The quality of work is amazing, and the professionalism of everyone from the owners to the workers has been unmatched. They are professional, courteous and friendly at all moments of our whole house remodel. The work is amazing that they do, and I would very highly recommend them to anyone from someone doing a bathroom to a whole house. Our job is beautiful and the process has been enjoyable. You can't go wrong with Jericho! We are very confident that our house would not have turned out half as good if we had used anyone else.

They were one of five companies that we had brought out to bid on the work. All the bids were very comparable to one another so the decision was to be based on the "sales pitch". The wife and I thought, at the time, they were the ones who had their ducks in a row the best so we went with them. The salesman was great at highlighting what, in his opinion, would work well and what seemed good on paper but not in reality with the remodel. He was receptive to our ideas and input and did work hard to create an atmosphere were all ideas were considered. He did have samples of the cabinet and granite which was great so we could have an idea of materials that we were considering and utlimately choosing. We had to have them rework the estimate since our ideas outweighed our pocketbook but he tried his best to make sure that we still received the best bang for our buck. We signed our contract on August 24th and was told that we would be contacted within a week or two to schedule the first walk-through with the project manager and installers. After three weeks of not hearing from anyone at Jericho, I called our salesman to see what the issue was. He stated that he would make sure that I would hear from them that day or the at the latest the end of the following day. That did not happen either. Finally they came out for the initial walk-through with the project manager, salesman, and installers. After that walk-through, once they had an idea of the scope of the work to be performed, the project manager said that he was going to go back to the office and finalize the details and "get the ball going". He said that he would be calling back by the end of the week to schedule a start date. This was mid-September and it was looking like it would probaby start in mid-October. We had assurances that it would be done by Thanksgiving since we were going to be out of town and did not want to have construction going on while we were not home. That fell through. I made calls to the project manager that were not returned or returned a week later. I had to finally complain to the CEO to finally keep the ball rolling. Finally the project manager started to returen my phone calls on a more consistent basis and scheduled a second walk through in early to mid October (past the original tentative start date) and said that it would probably be early November for them to begin on our kitchen. It was important to know the scheduled start date due to the fact that I was doing the demoltion of the existing kitchen to save on cost. I needed to be able to schedule the dumpster and help. I wanted to minimize the disturbance of not having a kitchen since my wife was pregnant and into her second trimester by this time. The original start date was to be November 1st but had to be pushed back a week due to a mandatory class they had to attend for their license. Once the work began, as is usually the case, it started with a bang and a cloud of dust. I soon noticed that there was only one person working on the kitchen. Now the kitchen is not large room where it could accomadate a half-dozen workers but it would hold 2-3 workers as there was a lot to do since it went to down to the studs. After a couple weeks of work and noticing the work was not progressing as quickly (due to a single worker) I voiced my displeasure and asked what could be done to speed up the work. This was right before Thanksgiving and already I could tell that there was going to be an issue to completing this work before Christmas. This was the new completion date since there was no way the work was going to be done by Thanksgiving. Mid-December, we were contacted by the project manager and was told that the one cabinet that was going to be custom made due to odd geometery of the kitchen had not been ordered yet. The cabinet was to go around the fridge and have a mini-pantry/broom closet. He stated that it would be 4-6 weeks to get it made and he was going to push for the 4 week mark but it was just another setback. As a way of "making it up to us", he offered to extend the wall and narrow an opening to get a larger pantry cabinet and that it would be at no additional cost to us since the mistake was theirs. Also, during the staining and sealing of the new hardwood floors, the fumes were overwhelming for my wife and she had to stay in a local hotel for 3 days. Jericho did step up and reimburse us for the hotel room. They did get to about 90% complete on December 23rd/24th in time to host Christmas dinner. They installed the custom cabinet in the second week of January. The custom cabinet was actually built about an inch or so to short so the crown molding did not fit and they had to come out on January 17th to fix the issue and finished the punchlist on Januray 18th. Overall, the project took twice as long (actual construction time) and nearly five months from when they were hired to actually completion. The work was not of the quality that I would expect from a professional company. The new kitchen and dining room is very nice but is lacking that "WOW" factor. The "contract" is not as detailed as it should be to help mitigate the ambiguities that arise during construction. Also, their claim that they do not use subcontractor is not true. They hire "temporary employees" that fall under the Jericho umbrella but are not true full time Jericho employees. As it stands right now, I would not hire Jericho to again to work on our house.
Description of Work: We had Jericho remodel our severely outdated kitchen and dining room. The kitchen and dining room were an addition to the house that was added in the mid 60's. Everything in the room was old and dark knotty wood. It was going to be a down to the studs and back type of project. Also included in the scope of work was some work to the old kitchen of the house to turn it into a breakfast nook area with a pass through in an existing wall. Hard wood floors were to be extended through these room since I have hardwood in the rest of the house.

We had Jericho out to give a bid on master bath remodel. We had already had one other bid from another company. There were two gentlemen who came out. After measuring things up & getting a feel for what we wanted they went to their vehicle & brought in product boards & wanted us to make selections on tile, flooring, fixtures, cabinetry etc. right then & there. This threw us off as we are shoppers & like to shop around & compare products. We went ahead and made selections to appease them. After making our selections they worked up a bid which I thought was very high in comparing apples to apples to our previous bid. They then asked what our previous bid had come in at, we told them. They did some refiguring & dropped the price $3000.00, said they had a special going on right now. We told them we needed to discuss it amongst ourselves, as well as get another bid, we would let them know. That's when things nose dived. They then told us if they could stick a sign in our yard while they were doing the work they could drop the price even more. They figured again & the price went from the initial bid of $17,000.00 this time to $8,000.00 (mind you no changes were made to any of our selected materials, or at least it was not stated that any changes were made). They kept asking why we were having a tough time making a decision with this great of a price & asked if we would like the bid emailed to us for our records (we said yes but never received the bid). They pushed a bit more & by then we had had it. We not only did not care for their pushy behavior but were greatly insulted that if they could offer that great of a price why didn't they do it right up front, rather than playing such an insulting game & dropping the price almost $10,000.00 in the course of 30 minutes, what a waste of everyone's time. Any smart consumer gets at least 3 bids, we explained that they were bid #2 & we would be seeking one more bid at least before making a decision. They then left, you could tell they were not happy with us & we clearly let them know they had overstayed their welcome.

Overall it went very well. As with most construction projects there were a few setbacks, but the guys were able to keep things moving and someone was here every day getting work done. The project manager, Barry H., was terrific and really kept us informed of how the work was progressing and what to expect. He consistently campaigned for us the homeowner and usually caught imperfections in craftsmanship before we did. He made sure that everything was to our liking.

I was very impressed with Jericho from the very beginning. Their representative showed up on time to the first meeting and was very helpful with design ideas and materials. At no time did we feel pressured, and we told him we were going to get other estimates. After a week we decided to go with them. We set the start date and were introduced to our project coordinator, Jeff. He oversaw the project and kept us informed as to what was going on at all times. The guys doing the work were spectacular. Very considerate and polite. The job started on time and finished two days early. Bathroom looks one out of a magazine. Jericho was very concerned about our satisfaction and didn't want to leave until they were sure we were happy. Would recommend them to ANYONE!

I would never use them again, it was a disaster. There was only one person who did the work. It ended up having to be done. The company gave us a discount because we were so dissatisfied. It was not a good experience. We had the president and the CEO of the company here. The plaster in the walls was uneven. They tried to make it right, but it was never right. They came out several times, but they were not able to fix it.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
At Jericho we always strive to exceed our customers expectations. This was a job we installed last May. During the design consultation we did tell the customer it would take around 5 working days as it was a 5x7 full remodel and we beat that 5 day expectation 95% of the time. We were to demo the entire bathroom to the studs and completely redo the entire bathroom. We started to demo the lath and plaster walls when we came across an amazing discovery. Behind the plaster was 3" thick concrete that needed to be demoed as well. Trying to rip this out was almost impossible as we have never seen concrete/mortar behind a wall so thick. We used some special tools to expedite this demo but realized it was going to be more than double our original quoted time in the bathroom. We explained this early on to the homeowner and told them the job was going to take at least twice as long due to these unforeseen circumstances. We told them we would not increase the price of their contract and reiterated that the project would take longer. We added 2 more installers to the job to help speed things up all at our expense. The job ended up taking 11 working days instead of 5. The bathroom was installed very well and looked great when it was completed. The homeowners seemed very happy and even complimented with a job well done. We were surprised to receive a bad review almost a year later.

I feel like they are very misleading. They say they will come out and give you a no obligation quote, but they came out and high pressured us and when we didn't sign the first time they came out here he acted like he had done something wrong. We made it clear we had no intentions of signing anything the first time we talked to someone, we just wanted information. He acted like we had to make a decision right then and then acted hurt when we wouldn't sign right away. I think he was late once or twice.
