Project design completed 5/4/2012 but considerable delay from time we did design, with Dave Ferran, until we actually heard from the company as to meeting with them to pick out granite, fixtures, tile, accessories, sinks, etc. We had told Dave we wanted Mirrorscape edging around our large vanity mirror. Dave never did get this into the design, thus it was never ordered nor installed. Then, once all materials had been ordered, another long delay until we heard from overall Project Manager, Barry Hansel. We actually had to call Jericho office and complain before we got any action. Finally, had walk through, but no dates to start were given, nor completion dates. We explicitly said we wanted work completed by 7/14/2012. This date was never met. Delays on project start were blamed on procurement of materials. Barry Hansel was often hard to reach, but in fairness, he responded to my texts with phone calls, in a fairly timely manner. Barry was more difficult to work with than other Jericho managers and in meeting our expectations. Excellent response from Bob Russell in procurement who made changes on the fly. We had almost no warning from Barry on when project was to begin, only a call the morning when installer was to be there to begin work and all cabinets had to be emptied. Kitchen project was long and tedious. and completed on 6/29/2012. We actually had to have granite people return to correct some issues, and cut granite again to accomodate stove. Barry Hansel was kind enough to put us in touch with Nebraska Furniture Mart corporate sales rep to gain a builder's discount on a new stove to replace old kitchen stove which had been damaged by the homeowners. Hall bath was started while kitchen remodel still in progress and took little time to comlete. Project Manager was Warren Gray and he was outstanding to work with and most accomodating to our needs and concerns. Work completed on 6/29/2012, which we had requested and prior to us leaving town on vacation. Master bath was started after we returned from vacation and completed on 8/10/2012. Quite extensive as we had ceiling textured and painted. Hole had to be cut through den/office closet to gain access to tub plumbing. Had to access attic to install new shower fan. Todd had to return a couple of times to correct some small issues, but he and Warren Gray were most agreeable, and outstanding to work with. I would work with both any time.
Description of Work: Remodeling project included kitchen: remove old countertops, and tile backsplash, remove old sink and faucet; installed granite countertops, new sink, new faucet, tile backsplash, install 6 new cabinet doors, stain and lacquer existing cabinets. Installer in kitchen was Ray Holman. He was outstanding, very personable, quality work. Granite people were very good, had contact with manager, John Ryan who was very informative. Fernando and his crew did cabinet work. He was outstanding and very meticulous in his work. Hall bath: remove old countertop, install granite countertop, new sink, new faucet, new accessories. stain and lacquer existing cabinet/vanitiy. Todd Porter was installer on both bathrooms. He was very personable, and extremely easy and accomodating. Fernando, again, did cabinet work in an outstanding and courteous manner. Master bath: remove old countertop, remove old sinks, remove old faucets on sinks, shower, whirlpool tup remove old shower, remove carpeting, remove old toilet; install granite countertop, install new sinks, new faucets on sink, shower, whirlpool tub, new toilet, install porcelain tile in shower, floors, around whirlpool tub, new accessories. Good work by Todd and follow up by Warren Gray, and procurement of material by Bob Russell. Excellent work by Fernando and crew on master bath vanity. Our kudos to Ray Holman, Bob Russell, John Ryan, Warren Gray, Todd Porter, and Fernando and his crew for excellent response to our needs and concerns and efforts to move the project along when it seemed to drag.

Sales representative made promises that turned out not to be part of the contract. The representative left he company without explaining to the owners what we desired in the shower as a result the shower was left incomplete. The owner stated if we wanted what was promised we woulld have to pay additional fees. We feel this was unfair since everything was inclusive in the pricing he quotes us. Since the representative was not available we have no proof of our of statement of work. We feel the owner should have stood behind his representative.

From the removing of my existing counter tops and sink to the final instalation of the new counter and sink everything was done in a very professional manor and they wanted to be certain I was satisfied at each step of the process. I am so happy with the finished results.
Description of Work: I had my current counter tops replaced with granite and a new sink and faucet installed. The granite is beautiful and my kitchen is a joy to be in. From start to finish everyone who worked on the project reinforced that they wanted me to be happy with the work done and the finished product. First the old counters were removed and the framing for the pass through which was also getting granite.

The designer showed up at my home as scheduled to review the changes and what I wanted done. That took longer than I expected but he made sure to understand exactly what I wanted with no pressure to add things I was not interested in changing (e.g., I wanted no new cabinets or countertops). I was not only given contact info for the designer but also the president of the company so that I could be in contact with someone at the company anytime I wanted. Sample tiles were dropped off at my house so that I could choose the blue color I preferred. The tile chosen was a custom order so it took a few weeks to come in. We agreed to a date and the installer showed up as promised. It turned out I chose the wrong blue and changed my mind so they did a reorder for me which took a few more weeks to come in but they completed the floor and did as much as they could until the tile came in. Once the new tile order arrived, it turned out the manufacturer sent the wrong color and size of tile. By the next day the second reorder was placed and they were back to my house within a week to complete the tile. I was not charged any extra for the reorder tile, not even the first reorder which was my fault for changing my mind in the first place. Did arrange to work at home the first day the installer arrived to be there in case he needed to talk to me but after that felt comfortable with the installer doing the work in my house while I was at work. There were times when I had not heard anything from my project manager in a timeframe I was expecting so I would call to check in on the status and the project manager always knew who I was and what my project was and never did I not get a call back if I had to leave a message. I have been ignored by companies in the past but not Jericho. I am even planning on having them do a second flooring installation in another room.
Description of Work: Removal of old floor, kickboards, and bead board. Installation of new floor (including base floor), kickboards, backsplash wall, backsplash tile, and track lighting.

We decided not to go with Jericho for our bathroom flooring/shower/tub tiling project for two reasons. First of all, their initial estimate was twice that of another estimate we had just recieved with another company (which also had an A rating and good reviews on Angie's List). Of course he tried to whittle it down, giving us a lower price to try and get us to sign but it was still much higher than than the other company. Secondly, when I made the appointment for the estimate, I was not told it would be a 3 hour appointment!! My other estimate appointments took no more than 30 minutes and I was NOT expecting to spend my entire evening listening to a sales pitch about why I needed to sign a contract with Jericho. Be prepared for an extended estimate appointment and sales pitch so you don't end up eating dinner at 10 pm like we did because we thought we'd just eat when he left in 30 minutes. As a side note, he called back a day or so after he left to see if we had made a decision. When I told him we hadn't and that I was still not happy with the price, he said he would work on the quote and get back to me. That was a couple weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since then.

My wife and I remodeled the existing kitchen ourselves. However for the countertop we were looking for a professional solution. We interviewed with different granite supplies in Kansas City and choosed Jericho. The positive experience started already during the sales process. The Sales person was very knowledgeable and explained all available options and solutions. In addition gave us idea's to the center isle we were building. The deciding factor for Jericho was the price / performance package offered and experience in granite work and remodeling of complete kitchens. As promised, we were able to choose the perfect granite (color and style) at their facility. The project team visited our home to ensure all measurements were taken to provide a problem free installation. The lead time of less than 3 weeks assisted to finish our project in time. During the installation we ran into challenges, which were caused through the age of our existing cabinets. Jericho took care of the additional work needed with their team of skilled carpenters and granite specialists. The complete project worked out great. We are really happy with the results. We were extremely pleased with the overall process and outcome of the remodeling project, especially after hearing numerous horror stories about remodeling in general. We had a bid and layout drawn up by another company before deciding to use Jericho. Our Jericho designers, Duane and Dave, were very congenial and knowledgable and worked very hard with us to transform our avocado, 1970's kitchen into the streamlined and up-to-date kitchen we have today. Duane was our initial Jericho contact and spent over 2 hours with us on his first visit. He told us that he would have a few different layouts for us to look at the next time he came but didn't. Instead of layouts, he brought Dave with him to look things over. We enjoyed spending time with them, and they came up with a good layout/design that we liked. To get all of the things we wanted into a not overly big space took some effort! Knocking out the wall between the kitchen and family room was of utmost importance to us in order to open up space in our house, and the Jericho guys checked for support beams, etc. to make sure it could be done. We met with Duane and Dave againat the granite place to pick out the granite for our island and countertops as well as the sink style and color and drawer hardware. They were very helpful in this process since it was a little overwhelming for us, and we appreciated their assistance. For the final face-to-face meeting before the actual work began, we met with Barry (the project manager), Steve (not sure of his title), Duane and Dave. Barry went over all details of the project with us, and we made changes with Dave involving the sink type and faucet and kitchen hardware color and composition.I was fortunate to be able to work from home during the remodel so observed firsthand the excellence of the people working for Jericho. Marlin, Bob and Art were the first workers in our house and were very professional and friendly and extremely knowledgable. We were amazed how quickly our beams came down and the wall and paneling disappeared! They left our house as cleaned up as possible during their time here. The electrical guys, Sean and Beau, spent an entire day at the house updating the panel box, moving and adding outlets, rewiring areas, etc. Once again they were very courteous and professional. The floor crew really gets an A+ from us for their courteousness and work ethic. Watching (every now and then) the guys laying the floor was fascinating, and we really admired their skill at their job.The cabinets and island installation really made us realize we were going to have this fabulous kitchen in our house! The cabinets were better than we could have ever imagined, and the color was perfect. Once the granite was set, we began to really believe in our choices. Gone were the avocado countertops and Montgomery Ward microwave, and in their place was this kitchen that we had only dreamed about for several years. And, to top it all off, they finished in 5 weeks instead of the projected 6! We were very pleased with Jericho's efforts in all of this and wouldn't hesitate to call them again.
Description of Work: We completely gutted our entire kitchen, removed ceiling beams and wall paneling from our family room, removed the interior wall between the kitchen and family room and installed hardwood flooring on the entire first floor of our home. The kitchen remodel also included moving an air conditioner vent and changing the layout of the room. We also needed to upgrade the electrical panel box to increase the number of breakers for our appliances.

I was extremely pleased with the craftsman I had, but I was very unhappy with their management. The management gave me a very good sales pitch, but were very poor in following through. I had the kitchen gutted which included three layers of linoleum and it included removing the old cabinets, the soffits and all the old appliances. The deal was the management would come to take me so that I select tiles and once I selected the tiles, the guy said he'll follow up with me, but they never did. I wanted to have my kitchen work done in a week and one of their negative aspects is once I signed the contract I had to pay one third of the estimated total cost which was $23,000. What they did was while the job was going on they pulled their craftsmen to another job and this was unacceptable to me because the paint, the flooring color was selected. However, the craftsman was off the chart and was very good in doing a beautiful job. He was fantastic in doing all the work for me. I would give all credit only to the craftsman and not the management because they are not reliable. I would not use them in the future.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
We pride ourselves on giving each customer a quality remodel as well as excellent customer service. It sounds as if there was some breakdown in expectations which led to customer service falling short of our mission to make raving fans of all our customers. We apologize for this miscommunication but can assure you it is a rare occurrence for us to receive negative feedback so when we do we take it very seriously. We only wish we were informed of your concern the moment it arose so we could have resolved it immediately. We are not a perfect company, sometimes we make errors but we try extremely hard to correct those errors right away. In regards to the third down we ask for upon signing a contract: We consider this as a down payment. We order everything necessary to do your job BEFORE the job starts. Therefore we spend a lot of time and resources specific to your project before we even begin the actual work. The down payment we request is only one third of the entire job cost and we feel this is not requesting too much from our customers as we have never had one complaint to date. Many types of businesses request a down payment when performing a cash deal so this request is not uncustomary by any means. We also offer 100% financing which all our customers are aware of in which no payments are made until job completion and no down payment is required. On the other hand, we are extremely happy to know how thrilled you are with your final result. You said it best when you stated, “their craftsmen are over the charts and very good in doing a beautiful job." Unfortunately on your specific job there was a delay in receiving product from one of our manufacturers, which was outside our immediate control. Believe us when we say we dislike delays as much as any customer that has to experience it! We do our very best to make sure every job will be entirely seamless and every aspect will fit together perfectly. However, as many people know, the decision to remodel any portion of your primary home, let alone one of the most utilized room in the home, can be stressful as there could be unseen changes or hiccups along the way. The great thing is in the end the final outcome is very rewarding for both our customers and us, not to mention that your new remodel adds a very high rate of return on your investment. According to the National Association of Realtors Cost vs. Value report, the percentage of cost recouped on a kitchen remodel is higher than remodeling any other room in the home. We want to congratulate you on your beautiful new kitchen!
We were getting bids from 3 floor experts and two general contractors. The floor estimates were coming in over a large range of prices. The other general contractor came in an looked at the job, took a few measurements and shot us a price which was very high. He didn't give us anything in writing and said he would do that if we selected him for the job. That contractor has good reviews on Angie's list but wasn't very professional and projected as a local guy with experience. He did show up on time and had some good ideas. Dave from Jerico showed up on time for the initial appointment and discussed the job. He was very professional and friendly. After he got a feel for what we wanted he started taking measurements. He measured the entire house for the floors and then opened his computer and plugged in the data. He then started talking about how the kitchen might look. He went over what type of cabinets Jerico used and why they put them in homes. He then went to his design program on his computer and came up with a drawing based on the measurements and what we were looking for. After spending a couple of hours with us he gave us a printed estimate with the details of the job. Once we had all estimates in our hands we felt like Jerico was the best choice for us, but the bid was higher than what we felt was justified. We also had developed a couple of ideas that were different from the original drawings that Dave had generated. We had Dave back to our home and showed him our ideas. He put them in the computer and said they would work without any change in the bid. We discussed the price and Dave agreed to meet our target price for the remodel. We signed the contract and set a target date for Jerico to begin the remodel. After we signed the contract we had a meeting with Barry the Project Manager and Dave. We went through the entire job and Dave and Barry discussed any issues that Barry saw with the project. Based on that discussion we made a few adjustments and were then ready to begin. Barry estimated the job would take 6 weeks to complete. They showed up on the start date as planned with a crew that knew what they were to accomplish that day. They quickly moved needed furniture and gutted the kitchen. By the end of day two they were already starting new electrical to accomidate the new location of appliances. Overall Barry had the crew focused on what needed to be completed. The hardwood crew was outstanding. One individual layed about 2000 sq ft. of new hardwood in a couple of days. It was amazing to watch. At the end of three weeks everything was completed except a few details that required items to be delivered or our painters to complete. We were able to move back into the upstairs and start using the kitchen. They over delivered on the time required and the result was the WOW kitchen we were looking for. Dave had been spot on with every suggestion he made during selection of colors and design for the kitchen. It is amazing. Jerico also has followed up with every request we have given them. We will have longer term items to follow-up on but to this point we couldn't be any more pleased.
Description of Work: Gutted the kitchen and build entirely new kitchen with new floor layout, cabinets, lighting, and granite. Replaced all carpet with hardwood on two floors except bathrooms and master bedroom. Refinished existing hardwood and matched it with new hardwood. Approx. 2500 ft of hardwood new or refinished.

For the first meeting the sales exec Duane showed up on time and was courteous. We appreciated him for taking his shoes off before stepping on our carpeted floor He was knowledgable about materials and had a good design sense, which we liked. After going through their usual sales pitch and evaluating our bathroom, we told Duane about our budget. We also mentioned that we were flexible with the materials and design choices, but not willing to go beyond out budget. He continued on to the kitchen and completed the measurements and showed us some tiles and flooring options. Duane came back a week later (without an itemized cost that they promised) and the initial estimate was way over out budget (by almost 200%). So i understand why he did not bother putting a detailed estimate. We then explored different material options and cut down on several things during his second visit and thats when the he disappeared on us. Despite the original promises about their flexibility to work within our budgets etc., they decided to silently walk away. We called their office a week later and the lady who answered their phone said that she will let Duane know. We also tried Duane's cell phone - still have no answer. We know that with the budget we had in mind, they may not have found the work to be profitable enough to engage in, but a common courtesy of communicating that decision was all that we were expecting.
Description of Work: We called Jerico for an estimate to remodel out bathroom and kitchen. We have a small bath and kitchen. Bathroom needed full re-tiling and we also explored replacing the tub with a walk-in shower For the kitchen we discussed new composite floors, granite counter tops and backsplash. We decided to do the demolition and painting to save on cost.

We were extremely pleased with Jerichos ability to use their own people and not sub work out. The craftsmanship was excellent We were kept informed every step of the way about the job We felt like they went the extra mile in giving more than we expected. Jericho took Customer Service to a level that I did not know was possible in the construction industry. I only wish I had known about this company when I had my basement remodeled. They would have saved me money and disappointment. This company gets my remodel buisness from here on, they are user friendly!
Description of Work: Replaced old kitchen countertops with new custom granite counter tops. Replaced old kithen faucets with new ones Replaced two bedroom windows with double insulated vinal windows
When we first contacted Jericho, we knew exactly what we wanted for our remodel. (We had been planning this for at least 2 years). The designer that came out was Dan. We explained exactly what we had planned to do. He listened to everything we told him. We told him our budget and what we were expecting our kitchen to look like. He went to his car and brought back some samples and his computer so we could see some finished pictures. Then he showed us how he could draw out our new kitchen on the computer so we could see it or envision what it would look like after it was done. He told us about Jericho. How they do things, like how most of the guys that would work on our house are their own employees, etc. We talked for a few hours that night. He was so knowledgeable about kitchens and design. We could tell that he really loved his company, but we felt even more that he cared about us! We got back together almost 10 days later. We wished it could have been sooner, but wow, was it worth the wait! He showed us what our new kitchen would look like on his computer. It was nice. But then he showed us 3 other designs that he had done on his own. We were amazed. We had been planning this for over 2 years, but he came up with 2 designs we had never even thought of! They were phenomenal! Now we had to choose between 2 new designs. He carefully walked us through each of them, explaining the differences, square footages and work flow, etc. He even gave us a quote for both of them so we could compare the two! We chose the second one. It was a little higher, but we could see the value and thought it would be worth it. We met again to finalize some of the colors. We got to choose our own granite slabs. That was the hardest part. There was so many beautiful colors to look at, but Dan walked us through the process and helped us make the right choices. About 2 weeks later, we got together again with Dan. He brought another guy with him, Barry. He was going to be our project manager on our kitchen remodel. We spent probably an hour and a half talking, reviewing our project, and going over a couple of questions we had. They double checked some measurements and generally made us feel at ease that we had made a good choice with Jericho so far. It took almost 2 months before Jericho started work on our kitchen, but they kept us in the loop the whole time. Barry called us weekly to just let us know what was going on. When they actually started, we had plenty of notice so we could clean everything out of the kitchen and prepare for D-day! The first day of the tear-out was kind of messy, but the guys cleaned up real good. They protected our floors and even hung plastic to keep mot of the dust away from the rest of the house. You could tell that they cared. The installation process went pretty smooth. There was a couple of hiccups like the extra wiring in the walls that were removed. We changed a couple of things on the project, but Barry did a great job listening to us and giving us what we wanted. There was a couple of change-orders on our job. One for the stuff we added and one for the unexpected stuff in the wall removal, but I felt that Jericho was extremely fair, plus Dan had explained this to me. 6 weeks later, our kitchen was complete. It is fantastic. We cant wait to start having Thanksgiving and Christmas, or any other get- together at our house. We love showing it off. It was the best investment that we have ever made into our house! We love it! I would so highly recommend Jericho to anyone!
Description of Work: Jericho did a complete kitchen remodel for me. They knocked out some interior walls, expanded my kitchen into the old dining area, new cabinets, new hardwood floors, new granite counter tops and back splash, paint,

It all started a few months ago when a sweetheart knocked on my door. It was our first meeting with Dan Amerson who was our designer. Honestly calling him a designer doesn't even seem right.....he's more like a miracle worker!!! He bent over backwards for all of our wants and needs. After several design appointments we finally made all of our choices and began the process. Shortly after we got a call from our project manager JC. He came by with our designer and walked through the whole project. Then came the demolition! lol! The installer that was here couldn't have been more courteous. I mean honestly, we don't have a beautiful mansion (It's just a regular house in Raymore, MO) but he treated us and our home as if it was. The result of this amazing company is nothing short of perfection! I must admit I may have a 'small' case of OCD. In other words "I do NOT use the word perfect often." But, every single detail was executed perfectly! If you are looking for a company that will be honest with you and treat you/your home with absolute respect... I recommend Jericho! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Description of Work: All I can say is "WOW!" This team is absolutely flawless! I recently had my bathroom remodeled. The result is nothing short of spectacular!

To start with, the salesman told me he knew nothing about color which is not what you want to hear and apparently they have no one in the company who has any design experence. They need someone who has some experience with color. There was also a big disconnect between what the salesman told me was included in the job and what the poject manager thought should be included in the job for the price quoted. I heard lots of "is that included in the contract" when I was told by the salesman that it was. The project dragged on for over 7 weeks when I was told 3 to 3 and a half weeks. There were several weeks when they were only here 3 or 4 days a week. The last several weeks there was only one person here. When I signed the contract the crack in the ceiling was included but that changed when the project manager looked at it and wanted 500 more. I said okay but it was not fixed with sheet rock as they told me it would be. I felt that my job was a low priority to them sice the last weeks there was only one person here doing very little. Jericho's tv ad says "free granite tops" but they charged me $795 dollars extra for the granite I wanted. They also say that all their employees are with the company but that is not true(painters). The project manager told me a week before the appliances were in that "you can use your kitchen." Cigarette butts were thrown in my yard and I am still picking them up. The job definitely was not worth over $20,000 and all the frustration. I would not hire again.
Description of Work: Kitchen and half bath removal of some wallpaper and painting of walls and kitchen cabinets. New wood floor and granite counters. Appliances that I paid for installed (cook top and oven) and two ceiling lights that I paid for installed. New pedastal sink in half bath. New kitchen sink. Old cook top hood painted .Basic back splash tile installed.

We were scheduled to have a representative from Jericho come by our home on 2/14 to give us an estimate on a full KITCHEN remodel. The rep never showed up that night. We called the same evening and spoke to Dan who said he would personally come to our home the next week. While we were speaking with him he mentioned that we were written down for a BATHROOM remodel which was incorrect as we had specifically asked for kitchen. On 2/22, Dan came over to our home. He set a computer up and showed us some programs that would let us look at the proposed remodel and then put up some pictures for us to get an idea of what we wanted/what Jericho could do. We knew generally what we had in mind and were open to other ideas but most of the pictures were of dark, stained wood cabinets and we were wanting white. It was hard to find anything that we were looking for but either way, we looked to see the quality of what Jericho had done in the past. When we asked what had happened to the first rep who was scheduled to come out to our home, Dan did not recall our situation. He said that they were very busy with bookings from the home show event that had just happened. Once he did recall our situation, he said that the rep originally scheduled to see us was probably delayed at another home and then just didn't come over. We asked if they normally call and he said yes and then explained again how busy they were from the home show. He did mention as well that the rep scheduled to see us would not have been able to do anything to help us that night anyway as he only does bathrooms. These were his only explanations of why the disorganization on this but we went ahead and finished our meeting, scheduling another for 2/29 so Dan could come back to show us his ideas on the computer and give some estimates. He mentioned several times that "he" was "our" guy and that we would deal with him the whole way through. On 2/28 we received a call from a woman at Jericho confirming our appointment for FRIDAY 3/2 for our BATHROOM estimate. My husband told the woman that we had an appointment set for our KITCHEN estimate with Dan for the following evening (not friday) to which she responded that Dan was booked that evening. At that point we told her to cancel our visits. If it was that disorganized BEFORE the project even started I cannot imagine what it would have been like for a full kitchen remodel. I hope this is not the normal for them and we were just a random case of the mix ups but after Dan took over we had expected it to be a little more coordinated...but it wasn't at all.

The process overall went well. Communication was rough at times on the part of the contractor that was heading my job. I need to know what is happening when so that I can plan my schedule accordingly and initally I wasn't getting the answers I was looking for. My kitchen was demoed at the beginning of January and my cabinets had not been put into production yet. So, after the pantry was complete, my kitchen sat for a good week and a half with no real prgress. I did find that every individual that came to work in my home was very pleasant and kind. Every evening when they were finished for the day, my kitchen was cleaned to my satisfaction. They would make sure to remove any trash and sweep the floors to get rid of sand and dust. Once the cabinets were done, the process picked up a bit. I was very pleased with the quality of the cabinetry (Done by Double C Industries), as well as my granite countertops. I was very impressed by the follow up phone call the evening my counters were installed making sure I was pleased with the product and installation. There were a few odds and ends at the end that we noticed that needed to be finished, repaired after our walk thru, but, that was completed in a timely manner.
Description of Work: We did a complete kitchen renovation. Gutted the kitchen down to the drywall and added a walk in pantry to the kitchen. The process in finding the right company was extensive. Jericho came in at the budget we were looking to stay in & were very eager to start. We had all cabinetry replaced as well as adding the pantry. Put new countertops on & a backsplash.

We are planning to remodel our kitchen and living room and possibly two bathrooms. We scheduled an appointment to have a representative from Jericho come to our house to discuss a kitchen remodel and get an estimate. Dave came to the initial appointment and was to return with an estimate. He did come to the second appointment but did not have an estimate. We discussed the kitchen remodel again with the addition of some work in our living room. This was before Thanksgiving 2011. He said he would provide an estimate. I did not hear from Jerico again to I called in January. They were under the impression that we did not need the estimate until February, but I asked that the representative e-mail me the estimate. I was told I would receive it in a few days. A month and a half later I still have not heard back from Jericho.
Description of Work: No services preformed.

I met with a representative from Jericho on 11/14 to discuss a facelift for our kitchen. We asked for a preliminary design and estimate to replace our island (including sink, dishwasher and garbage disposal), put in new perimeter countertops, replace the backsplash and upgrade our under-cabinet lighting and electrical. The representative offered many possibilities and told us he would get a proposal together for our review in 10 days or so. I scheduled a follow-up meeting with their office for 11/29. On that evening, I got a call from the office informing me that the representative was having car trouble; we rescheduled the appointment for 12/1. When we met on that evening, it became apparent that there were no car troubles--he had still been out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday. I would have been happy to reschedule our initial follow-up appointment for that reason but I didn't appreciate not being told the truth and having the appointment cancelled at the last minute. To make matters worse, he did not have a proposal for us to review, only a total dollar figure with a promise that it would be reduced via discounts, coupons or what-have-you and that we would receive the detailed proposal via email by the following Monday (12/5). That never happened and I heard nothing from Jericho until after the holidays by which time we had moved on to other resources. I have no idea where the disconnect happened or why but I was very disappointed by our experience with Jericho.
Description of Work: I contacted Jericho to bid on a facelift for our kitchen: new island, countertops, backsplash and cabinet refinish
I bid out my kitchen/dining room remodel with three companies. Jericho came out on top not only because of price (I wanted quality work), but because my salesman, Duane, had great ideas that helped me stay within a small budget and still get a terrific remodel. Two other remodeling companies who came by incorrectly told me I had wood floors under old linoleum. Duane knew better right away. That was a pretty big miss for the other guys.Duane suggested ubatuba granite countertops, something I didn't know about. They are beyond gorgeous. He convinced me to keep my kitchen's brick facing -- something I thought definitely needed to go. Now that the work is done, that brick looks fabulous and upscale. Thanks, Duane. I was home during the remodel, and appreciated the professionalism and neatness of Jericho's craftsmen. Thanks Steve, Jeff and Richie. Project manager Barry Hansel was always available and quickly responded to any concerns. I'm saving up so they can do my master bedroom remodel. Can't wait to get it done, and I won't bother to bid with anyone else.
Description of Work: Kitchen cabinets refaced, new hardware. New flooring in kitchen and dining room. Canned lighting installed; fixtures replaced. New appliances installed, including house's first dishwasher and garbage disposal. Granite countertops installed. Old-style wooden bars removed from half-walls. One half-wall completely removed to open space between rooms. Prep work for painting.
We started with a kitchen we moved into that took up have the possible space. It was designed as a breakfest bar and kitchen but functioned well as neither. The need to replace the oven that looked like it was on "Leave it to Beaver" tells how old this kitchen was. This was a do it yourself job from what I understand. A lot of this house is which is part of the problems in the long run. They transformed that kitchen into one running along the wall completely. The new cabinets look beautiful and doubled our cabinet space. The alterna flooring is a tile that looks like ceramic but is not cold against bare feed. It even feels like a natural stone. The grainet counter top is beautiful and goes well with the new expresso cabinetry. The design provided moves the sink from the middle to the side. We can now open the dishwasher (which was in the corner nearly by the sink) without having to get on tip toes just to put dishes away. The end result is a beautiful that is both aesthetically beautiful as well as functional. We love it and are so happy that we had Jericho Home Improvements as our contractors. We will be contacting them to work on at least one bathroom, mabey even all three in our house. That is how sastifised we are with their work. They are willing to go the extra mile if needed. Just do not expect them so install appliances under normal circumstances.
Description of Work: A full kitchen remodel with custom cabinets and new flooring. Also instillation of appliances (not normally something they do).

Another remodeler has the job.
Description of Work: We had an appointment set for 6:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 28th to have them estimate new kitchen counter tops and bath vantities. We waited for them to aririve until 6:30 pm and then left for the evening. Upon our return, we had a message asking why we were not at home for the appointment. If a call had been made to say they were running late, we would have waited. As it was we had no idea if they would show up. Our remodel job totals about $12,000 and we would have given them a second chance if they and followed up with an appology.

According to our scheduling system the appointment was set for October 21st at 6:00pm. After further investigation, we found from importing the appointment from our home base scheduling system to the mobile device used by our designers, the appointment mistakenly imported as 6:30 due to a scheduling conflict with that specific designers schedule. Regardless, we greatly regret this happened to you and apologize for the miscommunication. We pride ourselves on having the best appointment retention and punctuality in the business! Unfortunately due to human and technological errors not all scheduling can be 100% accurate all the time but we sure do try to meet this goal. Our design team understands and respects that your time is valuable and will always call if they are running behind due to appointment overages, traffic, etc. Due to the importing error he was not under the impression that he was late and so reported your appointment as if you were not home. We were delighted to see your review correcting this report so that our technical support team can correct this error for future scheduling. Again, we apologize for your inconvenience as we know it can be frustrating. Thank you for your feedback. It is invaluable to us!

We were impressed with Dave, the salesman, who helped us find ways to keep the overall cost within our budget. Barry, project manager, was professional, courteous and patient. The work started on time and was finished in a week, which was about what was estimated. Patrick and Kent did the actual work, the demo and installing new tile, and they did a beautiful job. We are extremely happy with how it all came together, and the overall look in both rooms. They were both professional, and since I work from home they were careful to keep doors closed when sound was an issue while I was working, which I appreciated. The 3 guys who came out to install the granite worked quickly and efficiently. In 2 hours they had the old countertops and vanity top out, the new granite installed and answered all my questions. We are extremely pleased with the result and would definitely recommend Jericho for kitchen/bath renovation or updating.
Description of Work: Kitchen and master bath updating, including tearing out of existing countertop, sink and tile in kitchen, and of existing double sink vanity top in master bath as well as tile surrounding a jetted tub. Place new granite countertops in kitchen, black granite sink and ceramic tile backsplash in diamond pattern. Place new granite double sink vanity top in master bath with new rectangular white sinks, and new ceramic tile around jetted tub in diamond pattern.
The project went quite well from initial contact and estimate to completion. My husband and I were both in the home as work was being done and the crew worked arround us with no problem. They took out old back wall of kitchen to open it up to family room addition, re-supported cieling with new steel tube, extended kitchen floor into family room, laid new kitchen floor, installed 3 cabinet island with cut out for gas stove and opening for dishwasher. Upgraded all necessary electrical and plumbing and installed granite counter top. From start to finish entire project took about 2 1/2 weeks p graded all
Description of Work: Had kitchen remodel done consisting of wall removal re-support of ceiling building extension from existing kitchen floor into family room to create an 3 cabinet island with gas stove dishwasher inserted granite counter top all electrical and plumbing needed to accomadate the changes. The crew showed up when they said they would cleaned up after themselves when done the job they did was well done and better than what we expected for the price.

I contacted Jericho Home Improvements for a bid on a construction project I am doing. The bid was for both a kitchen, master suite, and hall bath remodel. Dan from Jerico met me as scheduled. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to provide me pictures of past jobs which looked great. When we met again a week later (Wed) to review his designs and prices, he was missing the hall bath in his designs and did not have pricing for me. I was disappointed as I was on a tight schedule and had given him a follow up email after our first meeting recapping the scope of the job and my budget. He promised his would have pricing to me by end of week (Fri). As of Saturday, I still had nothing so I emailed, he promised he would have it by the end of the weekend. As of Monday, I still had nothing so I emailed again. He got pricing and designs to me that day. I do wish I hadn't had to ask for them 3 times. While the design looked great, the price was much higher than he originally estimated. It almost tripled my original budget which he said he would have no problem fitting the work into originally. I need to work with someone who is responsive and upfront regarding costs and changes. Although Dan was very nice, I don't think I would be comfortable undergoing a large project with Jericho.
Description of Work: I received a quote from Jericho for a Master Suite, Hall Bath, Kitchen remodel.

Response from Jericho Home Improvements, LLC
Member, thank you for valued input. I would like to explain the Jericho process in a little more detail so you can fully understand the amount of man hours the design process can sometimes consume. At Jericho Home Improvements we strive to always make each and every customer a raving fan. One of the ways that we do this is to carefully listen to each customer. We use the information gathered in their home and place it in our custom designed software which visually illustrates several different designs. Some designs require only minimal changes, while others are much more complex. We then present the designs to our customers. They choose which design fits their wants/needs and together we sit down and make any final “tweaks”. After making these final changes in our design system, the process of carefully choosing each and every product for the project begins. Only after all products are chosen can we work up the proposal for the customer to view. More often than not we are able to provide a quote after meeting in your home, taking measurements, and going over specific products with you in the very same meeting. Your particular project was much more involved in the sense that we were creating detailed designs for not one but three major projects. We always want to ensure your complete satisfaction and wanted to take the time to make sure we did just this. Sometimes it is hard to figure out a price for a project without knowing which design and/or which products the customer wants to use, so we try to stay away from “guess-timating”. We also try to keep our numbers as low as possible without sacrificing quality or workmanship. Unlike the typical contractor, we provide an exact project proposal based upon what each customer chooses for their individual remodel project. A major remodel requires a significant amount of time to put together all of the hundreds of items and prices for the project. Typically we schedule at least a week between the design/selection appointment and the pricing appointment. We apologize if time expectations were not properly communicated to you during this rigorous, detailed process. We can assure you, the time was well spent planning and designing the best Kitchen & Bathroom(s) for your home. If you have any questions or would like to contact us regarding these designs, please call us at 913-596-0000.
Paul, our designer, met with us and spent hours taking measurements, drawing plans, and presenting all the samples of wood, tile, granite, lighting, faucets, and appliances. He listened to all our ideas before showing us anything. The project manager called to arrange a time for our project, and told us when the workers would arrive to begin the overhaul. They were very friendly, careful, and provided answers to all our questions. The whole project took about a week more than we expected because of the waiting time for our counter tops to be custom made. That week was well-spent for the quality of workmanship and products they supplied. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen - except now we want to remodel the whole house!!
Description of Work: They removed all the cabinets, appliances, and flooring. They rearranged everything so I had room for the kitchen island I had always wanted. They installed the new custom cabinets I picked out, the beautiful granite counter tops I selected myself, and an amazing wood floor.
