The owner, Larry, came out to assess a problem I was having with pipes freezing on cold, windy nights. He inspected the basement, first, and second floors and was confident that the problem was a 1 foot by 1 foot chase that ran along an exterior wall. The job was small and he said he could reuse some materials to get it done economically. This was a relief because other companies wouldn't even take the job because it was too small. The crew came out the next Saturday morning and was very professional. They put down plastic to protect the floors and furniture, worked quickly, and cleaned up when they were done. A few nights later, we had another cold night and unfortunately the pipes froze again. I emailed Larry and he said he was getting a thermal imaging camera and would like to take another look. At every appointment, I received a call letting me know they were on their way, which I appreciated. He came out and saw some cold spots and scheduled another appointment - they didn't charge a trip charge like the bigger companies. Larry personally oversaw the next appointment and when they drilled another hole in the drywall, they found that the first insulation job was done correctly. This led to another section of the pipe. They had to pull back a corner of carpet in a closet and drill a small hole. Using a scope camera, Larry was confident that this new area was the remaining problem. They quickly filled the cavity, patched up and then cleaned up. Larry refused to take any money for the second job saying that he was confident the first work would fix the problem. I thought this went above and beyond what was necessary and showed a true commitment to professionalism and customer service. Needless to say, I would not hesitate to use them for future work.

The company owner, Larry, and another employee arrived promptly to evaluate our needs. Based on their observations and our conversation, we identified exactly the right work needed to address our concerns. Larry provided a brochure that described the materials he uses for insulation and explained the difference between radiant barriers and other ways of insulating walls that extend into an attic. The estimate arrived within two hours or less of Larry leaving our home. It was fair and the scope of work agreed with what we discussed. He was able to schedule our work within two weeks of providing the estimate. The crew called when they were on the way and arrived promptly, as expected. They put plastic on our floors to protect them from tracking as well as from insulation bits. They also cheerfully showed us what they were doing at different points during the job. After foam sealing air access points around light fixtures, electric lines, vents, and framing, they checked our living area to be sure that no foam accidentally came through anywhere. They added long baffles to protect our soffit ventilation from being blocked. They removed old insulation bats from knee walls and replaced them with fabric and blown in insulation. They also used the same fabric on the floor of our storage area and replaced all of the old insulation in that area with new insulation that will work well with the replacement floor that will be installed. Our house is about 2100 SF plus the knee walls. The total job took about 6.5 hours with three crew members working non-stop. We would definitely use them again if we identify other insulation needs -- maybe our cantilevers?

Went very well. The three man crew called prior to their on time arrival. They were considerate, worked neatly and cleaned up well after the job. Theirs was not the lowest bid, but I chose them because of their attention to detail and the extra care they take.
Description of Work: Add insulation to 2100 sq ft of attic and end walls of a vaulted ceiling. Also opted for their "Sealing" package which included foam sealing of all ceiling penetrations, HVAC ductwork connections, can light fixtures and holes for wiring where it drops into the halls from the attic.

Larry and his team were incredible from start to finish. Larry was prompt in coming out and keeping his word, from our meeting time to the cost of the project. His team was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. His team pointed out issues that needed immediate attention and addressed them accordingly at no extra charge. I know the return on investment will be easily visible on my energy bills for years to come. I have another insulation project slated for next spring and will not even think to call anyone else. To anyone reading this, I recommend you do the same.
Description of Work: Our recently purchased home in Blue Springs was experiencing huge temperature swings. Determined to create the utmost efficient home, I knew this issue was multi-faceted so I went after the attic first. The insulation was less than at the minimum level recommended and I even wondered how it passed inspection.

They came out and seemed very professional and willing to solve the problem. The owner told me I needed the walls insulated which they did and I was also told that if that didn't solve the problem the owner would come back out with a heat gun to find out where the problem was and then we could explore other options to solve the problem. Needless to say it didn't solve the problem and so I scheduled to have the owner come back out. At the last minute the follow up appointment was canceled by the owner because he was too busy doing other insulation jobs, so we rescheduled. This appointment was again canceled by the owner for the same reason and I was told he would call when he could come out. I never received another call. So in my experience they will take your money but will not do anything more than the initial job and do not follow through like they promise. I would have been better off using the $1200 to buy good window units and put the rest of the money towards my childrens college fund.

It went very well. Larry provided an estimate very quickly, which was miles better than any other estimate we had from other companies. The folks who removed the old and then installed the new insulation were very friendly and always looking to make the process as easy as possible for my young family at home. They knew exactly what needed to be done, and did it very efficiently. Already, I can feel the difference in the house with the new insulation. Looking forward to seeing the difference in next month's electric bill.

Excellent work. We did have some issues w/ his employees walking w/ dried mud on our wool rug and they scratched a newly painted window sill w/ the hoses used to blow in the insulation. I called and relayed these problems. Larry took care of these issues and spot cleaned our rug by hand himself (he took the time to research the proper cleaning method for wool)! Highly impressed! To make up for the scratches, he also reduced our invoice. This is a business with integrity and I highly recommend them.

Good job. Larry and Mike worked with me to get the job done within my budget. Attic only had about 6" of old blown fiberglass insulation. 3 man crew arrived on time and got right to work. They sealed air leaks around pipes and fixtures in the attic with spray foam. Then, installed additional blown fiberglass to bring up the R rating. Have already noticed a difference. Home is less drafty and more comfortable. Haven't got first utility bills yet, but expect to save 10% to 20% on energy. Nice job!

This company did a great job for me. They showed up on time, they were very courteous & professional as well. I had insulation blown into my existing walls of my 60+ year old home to kick up the R value. I also had them air seal and blow insulation in my attic to keep the heat from escaping through the roof area. They finished the job in 1 day (about 12 hours), and cleaned up very well after themselves. I would absolutely recommend them.

I think it went fantastic! The team was great. I interacted with the office on several occasions to get the estimate and the instillation. Each time I called the office, Joni was great. The team that came to the house was professional, friendly, and left the place clean. After they left, I was so happy. I couldn't believe what a difference the insulation made. They must have found every crack and cranny and then filled it. I have a 1907 house that now feels like a brand new build! Before there was so much moving air I was sleeping with a stocking cap on. Now I am actually able to turn the thermostat down, saving on energy costs! Each time I spoke with the team and had a home visit, they were easy to reach and on time. They utilize technology and also brought paper bills catering to all types of clients! Three Cheers for Insulation Pros!

Perfect. What else can I say? Larry showed up on time for the estimate, scheduled promptly, and his crew called when they were on the way to my house. They worked hard, cleaned up the area well and were all very friendly. They even had a hand written thank you note when the job was done. I wish every contractor ran their businesses this way. I will be hiring again to have them perform air sealing and blown in insulation in my attic.
Description of Work: They did a drill and fill to add insulation into the garage ceiling which was below a bedroom on the 2nd floor of my house. They filled the ceiling with 13 bags of blown in fiberglass and sealed the holes with foam plugs and a light coat of drywall spackle.

Larry and his crew foamed some walls that I was afraid moisture would penetrate and used blow in insulation on other exterior basement walls. They used mineral wool on the basement ceiling in two rooms to deaden sound between floors. Larry came several months ago to evaluate the space and make suggestions. He knows this business and is one of the few people who really understand sound insulation. I work in television and radio and I have built isolated recording spaces. Sound isolation isn't easy and some who call themselves experts get it so wrong. I was impressed with how thoroughly Larry Langley understood sound isolation. He did a great job with thermal, too, and knows how to insulate a basement wall to prevent moisture retention, mold and rot. After receiving his recommendations and his quote I decided to add some first floor sound isolation. Larry was patient as I asked for changes and continued to put off the work as I completed some firestop work that I was doing. I was finally ready. His crew arrived on time on a Monday morning and stayed most of the day - it's a large basement. The workers knew their jobs well. They were professional and courteous. I plan to have him come back to my home and a rental property I own to do some more work. I am very satisfied.

We had a great experience using Insulation Pros! Larry came out to do the initial bid and was on time & very detailed and thorough with his assessment of the job. The thing that impressed me most about him was that he seemed more concerned with honesty and integrity than closing the deal or trying to sell me on more things than I asked for. We moved into this house not too long ago and at our last house in a different state had similar work done. I felt the price for the work they did was very fair and reasonable. On the day that the work was done, they called before they came and actually arrived a little earlier than the time I was expecting them. Normally I would have been thrilled that they were a little early but I had to ask them to take a 15 min break while I took my kids to school. Not a big deal and they didn't seem bothered by that at all. They put plastic down on the carpet to protect it because the access point was upstairs. They took their shoes off until that had all of the plastic down to protect things. It seems they took about 1 1/2 - 2 hours of prep work time sealing things and prepping for the blown insulation. Once the insulation started to be blown in, I went up to check on the progress. The guy didn't seem to mind me checking on him and in fact invited me to come look around as far as I felt comfortable. He pointed out a few things with his light and I could see that there were measuring sticks all throughout the attic floor to make sure the install was consistent. From start to finish, I think they were here about 4 hours. After they were done, they were very good cleaning up after themselves...pulling out the vacuum to get any leftover pieces that got off of the plastic sheeting. Once we were ready to settle up, he walked me around and showed me the completed project to make sure I was satisfied then asked me for payment. I thought that was a really nice way to wrap things up. Make sure your customer is satisfied prior to asking them to pay for the job you just did. That doesn't happen too often anymore. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. I can't wait to see the savings that we'll get next summer for sure and I think it will also prove to be a money saver this winter as well. This is a family-owned business that takes pride in their work and I am glad that we found them through Angie's List.

Very pleased with the work and we can definitely tell a difference in the comfort level of the bedrooms above the garage! For years, the bedrooms above the garage had been hot in the summer and cold in the winter and we finally decided to have something done about it. Larry and his team drilled holes in the garage ceiling and blew insulation in between the rafters, then plugged the holes. It took several hours of hard work for them to do this and they cleaned up well afterwards. We should have done this years ago!

I had had my attic insulated by a different company several years ago. Ever since then, I'd noticed that my attic was intolerably hot during the summer months and my air conditioner would run non-stop to keep the house at a reasonable temperature. Although I never put a thermometer in my attic to know just how how hot it was, It was unbearable. I decided that perhaps attic ventilation would help. This company came out and inspected everything. They agreed that two ventilation fans would be very beneficial. They also recommended more insulation, which I didn't particularly want to do. The prices were separated out and they were A-OK with doing whatever services I wanted, so they came and installed the two solar-powered attic ventilation fans. All of the work was done from the roof. They never even had to come into the house/attic for the installation. Afterwards, I couldn't even tell they'd been there. Even the attic was clean (I expected some stuff falling from above where they'd installed the fans, but didn't see any). The whole process was extremely professional and so far this summer, I've noticed a HUGE difference both in attic temperature and the amount my air conditioning units run. I was very pleased and would happily use their services in the future.

Larry, the owner, was very professional and able to answer all of my questions upon his initial estimate. He welcomed me to join him in the attic to watch what he was doing and showed me pictures of all the areas that would cause me a problem. The work was scheduled in a timely manner and his crew showed up on time, were very courteous and professional. They laid down plastic on all of my carpets to protect it from the foot traffic. They explained everything they were going to do and were in and out in a very short period of time. This company also offered air sealing, but I chose to go with another company for that on the recommendation of the energy audit professional. After such a great experience with Insulation Pros, I do feel that if I had done the air sealing with them that they would have done just as great of a job. I did show concern about the fact that I was getting the work done during the summer, but my condensation issues were only present during the winter. Larry assured me that even if it is a year later, he would guarantee his work and come out to correct any problems that still existed at that time. I am very pleased!!!

Went very well from beginning to end. I had two bids that were relatively similar, R14-15 insulating blown-in-blanket fiber-glass around 2x4 in the attic around the 1/2 story upstairs. Seal any penetrations in the floor/light cans, plumbing, etc. and then blown-in fiber-glass to R-49 throughout the 2nd-story floor. The first one from a bigger company and was about $1000 higher than Larry's estimate. Yes, the price was a determining factor but Larry's bid included adding soffit vents to the front soffits for better ventilation, and solar-powered attic fan installed on top-center of the roof. It's been too cold for it to kick on yet but I'm unreasonably excited for that thing come no-wind 90-degree July. During the estimate Larry was able to answer my questions and establish knowledge of his product, trustworthiness and ultimately offered a better value for what he was offering. That's why I picked Insulation Pros. The crew showed up on time and finished in 1 day. I wasn't at home during the install but when they finished, other than the attic full of insulation it didn't even look like they had been there. They were quick, courteous and clean. They had to come back to install the roof vent because the roof pitch was wrong for the unit they had on hand. It wasn't any inconvenience as it was a roof-installation and they just rescheduled it and delayed payment on that part of the invoice until it was finished 10 days later. As boring and unexciting buying insulation for your house is, it's a "practical investment" and all that. Insulation Pros did a great job and we definitely feel a difference from last year. We cut usage by 50% in December YOY. The average temp in Dec 2013 was 28 vs. this 2014's warmer avg 34 so that's probably the majority of it. We'd hire these guys again in heartbeat.

Excellent work. This is a family business. Larry Langley visited our house and provided the estimate and a clear explanation of how the insulation would be installed. His father, Mike, and two other workers did the work. It took about a month before they could do the work, since they were busy. Mike's daughter is the company receptionist and is very helpful, friendly, and polite. I could not have wished for a better job or nicer people to work with. Mike and his team were fast, quiet, professional, personable, polite, and neat. I prepped the basement by moving items away from the walls, but they covered items that remained. They arrived on time and worked the entire time. The walls look great. The breathable BIBS provides much better insulation than I can get using a batted system and rids me of the mold problems. Mike did not just blow in the insulation; he also found every pipe, wire, and other entrance into the house and sealed them up with foam before the BIBS was installed. I was very pleased with that additional step. The final bill matched the estimate. The team cleaned up exceptionally well. The price was very fair, given the quality of the work performed and how pleasant it was to work with Larry, his father MIke, and MIke's two helpers. All in all, a small but first-class operation, one that I highly recommend.
Description of Work: Supplied and installed Johns Manville Pro Fiber Glass blowing insulation into the exposed 2x6 basement exterior wall cavities (we have an unfinished basement) using the Blow-in-Blanket system for and R23 value ($1270.50). This replaced the batts that had been covered with hard plastic, which would not allow the walls to breathe, causing mold on the batts under the plastic. Supplied and installed 1 inch of closed cell polyurethane foam over the exposed rim joist cavities for an air and moisture tight R7 value ($607.50). Both packages (walls and rim joists) included removing the existing batted insulation and hauling it off site. Supplied and installed 1 inch of closed cell polyurethane foam over the exposed overhang cavities for an air and moisture tight R7 value ($216).
