+ -1 moreIt is past time for Herb to retire. I am still finding areas where boards had split during installation, where gaps between boards are wider than they should be. He also covered an air conditioning vent. Fortunately I caught that and got his son to fix it. Also, some of the transitions were not done properly, such as around the fireplace. And one more thing, installing base and shoe where a bar is supposed to be so that it no longer fits snug to the wall. His quality has diminished ( he was once really, really good) and combined with health issues leaves him no longer able to provide the quality service he once did.

+ -1 moreI'm getting ready to call him again. Seems the ice maker broke and leaked for several days under the fridge and now I have a rippled floor. I hope this is the last time. I need to sell before Herb retires - but I will say I've met his son and he works really well with his dad too. I have no complaints at all. Herb is friendly and nice and he gets the work done as promised. He has been very creative with helping me resolve some of the odd things that have turned up.
Description of Work: Which time? I first met Herb in 1998 when I hired him to match my kitchen hardwood floor, pegs and tongue & Groove in my new dining room - 20 X 14. The floor was amazing. He took great care to tape plastic to keep sawdust out of the rest of the house. Along with that he did a light sand and seal and the floors looked like they'd been together forever - but new! I few years later I had him back when I'd overflowed the sink one too many times and he removed the damaged wood and replaced/finished and sealed it, again a seamless . The last time, about 2 years ago I was remodeling the kitchen. I pulled a breakfast bar out to discover no hardwood under it. Or the stove, or the cabinets next to the stove. He brought in new wood, cut to fit, again stained the pegs and made it look like it was always there.

Description of Work: Herb and mike did a beautiful job on our floors. They installed new hardwoods in one room then stained all of the floors to match. The stain was perfect and you can't tell where the old floor ends and new floors begin. They were very polite and helpful.. I would definitely work with them again!

+ -1 moreI thought it was good. They were timely. Everything was good. There was quite an issue I had which is why they had to come back because in one bathroom, when they did the bathroom, they reinstalled the toilet wrong but other than that, that's the only problem I had with them.
