+ -1 moreAlthough Mr. Caster initially seemed experienced, honest and friendly, once he received our 50% deposit for the work, our experience with him began to turn negative. He would not show up for work unless we called him, he did not start work until late in the morning and then he only worked about 5 hours per day. After almost a month of stalling and slow progress, he told me he would not continue the work without more money (regardless of the terms of his contract.) When I refused he became very hostile, he walked off the job, and then refused to complete the project or return our deposit. We did offer to settle with Mr. Caster for the portion of the work he did complete, with a fair refund of some of our deposit, but he refused. We now need to find another concrete contractor to finish the project. We intend to file legal charges against him.
Description of Work: The contract was for about $10,000 to remove and pour replacement patios around our home, fill a small abandoned swimming pool with gravel, place water drain tubes under part of the new patio and finally to bury drain tubes along another side of our home.

+ -1 moreExcellently. Great work performance, great communication skills. He was constantly checking in with me throughout the project.
Description of Work: Guy Caster immediately returned my phone call when I phoned to request an estimate. He came to my home immediately, and gave me a well-written estimate on the spot. I accepted his bid, which was well below the closest contenders bid. Guy and his team tore out a retaining wall by sledge hammers. Then, they poured a substantial footing, followed by using forms and pouring an upright concrete retaining wall which holds the soil back from an under the house, drive down into garage. Unbelievable work. It's a work of art. I was so pleased that I asked Guy to tear out and replace a landing for the deck (the work from a prior-hired contractor was done in a shoddy manner, with incorrect height and draining). Guy happily complied with that add-on request and only charged me about $200 extra. Excellent work there as well. Can't say enough about how highly I regard Guy and his crew. Use him for any work you may need to have done.

He is very responsive to any concerns, turns up when he says he will (or calls if weather conditions mandate a change in plans) and, perhaps most important, really cares about the work he does. The quality of accomplished work has been very satisfactory. I can enthusiastically recommend G & G Construction for concrete work.
Description of Work: Guy Castor and crew replaced and widened our old concrete driveway. The work has also included constructing a footing for a fieldstone retaining wall that I will build on one side of the driveway cut, building a footing and concrete retaining wall on the other side, and some drainage improvements and minor grading.

+ -1 moreTHIS COMPANY WAS MORE THAN A WEEK LATE GETTING STARTED. DID NOT RESEARCH THE PERMITS NEEDED OR COUNTY REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM. THEY DID NOT HAVE TIMELY ARRANGEMENTS FOR WASTE REMOVAL. GUY, THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY, ACTUALLY TOOK A NAP IN OUR FRONT YARD!!! THE INITIAL ESTIMATE WAS RAISED BY $200.
Description of Work: WE HAD AN EXISTING CONCRETE AND ASPHALT DRIVEWAY REMOVED AND A CULVERT REPLACED WITH NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY POURED. A 25FT. CULVERT WAS INSTALLED AND 25'X 13' AREA POURED WITH CONCRETE

+ -1 moreHE WAS REASONABLE IN PRICE AND THE WORK WAS VERY NICE. THEY WORKED HARD AND IT TOOK THEM IN A FEW MORE DAYS THAT EXPECTED THOUGH WE HAD HOLD UPS DUE TO WEATHER. HIS QUOTE WAS LOWER THAN THE COMPETITION. THE OWNER WAS HERE WORKING ALONG SIDE THE WORKERS EVERYDAY, TO OVERLOOK THE JOB. I WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF HIM. HE TAKES PRIDE IN HIS WORK AND I RECOMMEND HIM HIGHLY.
Description of Work: THEY DID A PATIO, VERY LONG DRIVEWAY, MADE AN ADDITION TO THE DRIVEWAY AND ALSO SOME CONCRETE WORK DOWN TO THE BASEMENT, JUST OFF OF THE DRIVEWAY.

+ -1 moreGUY WAS POLITE AND PROMPT TO GIVE US A BID ON THE JOB. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF HIS MATERIALS WAS GOOD AND HIS ESTIMATE WAS SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN 3 OTHERS. WE ENDED UP HAVING THE JOB PERFORMED BY ANOTHER COMPANY WE'VE DONE BUSINESS WITH IN THE PAST. I WOULD FEEL COMFORTABLE REFERRING HIM TO OTHERS.
Description of Work: OUR NEED WAS FOR OUR DRIVEWAY TO BE WIDENED AND TO ADD A CEMENT PAD ON WHICH TO PARK A SMALL BOAT.

+ -1 moreWE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED. GUY DID EXCELLENT WORK. WE WERE COMFORTABLE TO TRUST HIM WITH OUR HOUSE KEY. HIS PRICES ARE VERY GOOD.
Description of Work: A PORTION OF OUR BASEMENT FLOOR WAS UNFINISHED. GUY REMOVED AND HAULED AWAY A HUGE AMOUNT OF GRAVEL AND THEN POURED A REINFORCED CONCRETE FLOOR. THE JOB WAS MADE CONSIDERABLY HARDER BY THE NEED TO GET ALL THE MATERIALS IN AND OUT THROUGH A VERY SMALL WINDOW. AFTER REMOVING SOME OF THE ROTTED INSULATION ALONG FOUNDATION WALL, HE DISCOVERED THAT SOME TUCK POINT REPAIR WAS NEEDED. HE DID THIS AS WELL.

+ -1 moreWE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH GUY'S SERVICE, HE WAS CAREFUL TO NOT TEAR UP OUR YARD (WITHIN HIS WORKING AREA), DID A NICE JOB OF FINISHING THE SURFACE WITH THE SAME SWIRL FINISH AS THE REMAINING SECTIONS. VERY CONFIDENT I HAVE A STRUCTURALLY SOUND DRIVE NOW. WAS IMPRESSED THAT GUY WAS ALWAYS ON THE JOBSITE AND HAS A REAL KNOWLEDGE OF CONCRETE.

+ -1 moreG&G WAS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THEY TORE OUT MY OLD EXISTING DRIVEWAY AND WIDENED THE AREA FOR A NEW ONE WITHOUT DISTURBING ANY GROUND THAT I WANTED TO KEEP. THEY WERE PROMPT AND CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND THE FINISHED DRIVEWAY LOOKS WONDERFUL.
