DEVORE'S GENERAL CONTRACTING

Absolutely terrible! Unfortunately my wife and I were not able to keep a close enough eye on how things were going out at our new house, we were only able to see his work about once a week over the course of about 6 months. I've had some experience with contractors taking advantage of a "somewhat vague" contract but nothing to this degree. We had given him all the supplies that were needed for tiling a high end bathroom, complete with a few different colors of caulking and grout that matched the glass tiles, mosaics, etc., along with a drawn out plan from his representative at the "Tile Shop". We show up one day to see our new bathroom and he didn't use a single one of these items, not even the plan. His answer to this... "my tile guy has his own supplies". The "5 different types of granite" that we were to choose from for the countertops... We show up one day to look at the samples he had left for us to choose from and there were 5 pieces of granite alright but only 2 types... the two "black" samples fit together like puzzle pieces... same with the other 3 "mixed color"... He had literately broken up two different pieces into 5 and claimed that they were all different types. He seemed confused when we pointed this out to him, he then informed us that if we wanted something else we would have to pay the full price for it due to the fact that our contract with him only included "scrap" material left over from other jobs. At one point, a water leak was detected and he put two air-movers and a humidifier by a hole in the wall in order to dry it out. On his next invoice he charged us almost $500.00 for each of the 3 units. We asked him about the charge and were told that the rental company charges him $35.00 per day and he was simply passing the expense along. When asked to provide a receipt from the rental company he tells us that he can't do that because he's owned all three of the units for years! Unbelievable... this guy wasn't able to produce a single receipt for a number of "questionable" expenses. We spent about a month and a half in the end going over punch list items that he either did not complete per contract or simply didn't do at all. We gave him 3 different punch lists (actually the same list of about 50 items given one week apart), not to mention the two completion lists that we gave him before we went to punch. In the end I paid this guy to basically go away, our dishwasher is still not installed, the shower head in our bathroom still doesn't work, the list goes on. We live in a small community where we see the same contractors working on different homes on a regular basis. Unfortunately we were new to this community when we hired this guy.. He had a pretty good reputation out here a couple of years ago but it's gone downhill fast. Do Not Hire This Man, don't even let him on your property!

My flooring company recommended DeVore's for my bathroom remodeling. Aaron responded promptly to my inquiry with an estimate and reassurance that my two bathrooms could be remodeled quickly. In 5 days, Aaron and his crew removed all the old fittings and flooring and replaced them with new flooring, lighting, vanities, a toilet, and mirrors. Randy, the gentleman who installed the new tile, was kind, polite, and extremely courteous. The electrician, Brian--a master electrician, was superbly qualified and handled the wiring for new lighting and the bath fans.( He also worked mightily to install a new ceiling fan in the dining room which has cathedral ceiling--no small undertaking.)The plumbing in the wall had to be moved to accommodate the new vanities. Aaron handled the plumbing and installed a new toilet. All superbly, with great attention to detail, and a real passion for making sure the details are correct. If I had questions about an item, every one of his crew was again polite and helpful to a fault in answering my questions. I can't recommend Aaron Devore and his company highly enough. His crew are the kind of people you would enjoy having visit your home and they were professionals in all the services they performed for me. My two new bathrooms look great and add a great deal of value to my home.

EXCELLENT WORK. TILE WORK WAS EXCELLENT. I PAID FOR ALL PARTS ON MY OWN. WORKERS CLEANED UP AFTER EACH EVENING. IT'S BEEN 4 MONTHS NOW OF ENJOYMENT WITH NO PROBLEMS.
