From the beginning, he has not been the best person to work with. It was supposed to be done in about 160 days; it has now been over 560 days. We have been living in temporary housing as we do not know when the new home will be done. We speak to him constantly asking when we can finally move in and just recently he told us to go ahead. When we started the move, there were no toilets or sinks. We now have those toilets and sinks; however, how did he think we were going to live without those? Needless to say, we did not end up moving in. I spoke with my insurance company and they told me that they pay for everything until we move in. After that, we are responsible for the maintenance. Also, he didn?t have the A/C hooked up when he told us to move in. I cannot have my family going through this especially with the recent heat. His excuse for not hooking up the A/C was that it would get stolen. In fact, he ended up hooking it up and the next day it looked as if someone had tried to steal it. The problem with this situation is that my brother also lives in the area and everyone's A/C units are easily visible, but their A/C units haven't been touched. He had us put the utilities down in our name as he said that is what must happen. I had never run into this situation before so I believed him. After receiving a $1300 utility bill, I called the utility company and found out that usually the builder is to pay the utilities until all work is completed. Apparently, he is also supposed to have a building license/contract in place as work is being done but I do not think he has one. He also decided to cancel his insurance halfway through the project which just so happened to be effective the day after the A/C unit was installed. Our siding is another issue. I am used to seeing siding that is horizontal; however, our is vertical. After a storm, the siding was falling off into the grass. Speaking of the grass, it is now as tall as me and my family. We tried to have someone mow it before it got this way but there was so much dirt and debris in the grass that it could not be completed. I just want my home. I lost it two years ago and my family has been inconvenienced ever since then. My children will be starting school here soon and I want them to be all settled in our new home by then, but it does not look promising.
