I can't say anything that they done anything that I dislike. They were really willing to work with our schedule and the guy came early and stayed late to finish the work but once in a while, it was a little hard to get the hold of them.

Weather at that time delayed the beginning of job by about two wks. They came in and tore down the old deck the last of May, and didn't begin to rebuild the new deck for one month. During that time, there was a couple of rainy days for about two wks. Also, the original cement contractor that they hired to start the patio never showed up so they had to find another cement business to come up and lay the patio floor before they could begin the construction of the deck. There was not good communication at all from Constructing KC as I had to make the phone calls and inquire what the delays were all about. I feel as though it is the contractors responsibility to stay in contact with their customers and let them know why there are delays and what we can expect as far as their schedule. Once the project of the deck was started there was alot of confusion on who was actually doing the work, when they were going to be there. I was not pressuring them, but it seemed I had to call to find out what was going on, otherwise, I didn't know. The finality of the project was completed before July 4th which I had hoped for, since I had alot of company coming. I didn't have any time to re-work the landscaping, but at least we had the deck. It wasn't until after I had paid them the final amount that we noticed some construction flaws, as in missing screws, split wood, railing and bannister misfilttings, alot of which were brought to my attention by my Father after he came and looked it all over. I was generally happy with the overall design of the deck, but due to the very difficult communication I had with them, I probably will not use them again for any projects.

I called several contractors. This contractor was the last to call me about a week after I had estimates from to hhe other controactors.Their estimate was the lowest estimate however, I was concerned that he had no business card and gavate oe me a handwrriten estimae on a plan piece of paper. We did communicate 2 or 3 times. He called to let me know he could start the next week. I had talked to him about the F rating he received on Angie's list. He said it was a misunderstanding and it was not regarding a deck. Given the estimatel I received from another company that was a little bit higher with better materials for posts I decided to go with that company. In addition to the deck the company I chose had installed my gutters a few years ago and did a great job. Also, they gave me a cut on laying tile in my kitchen and several small repairs they included for free. I did go on line at decks.com as this contractor had suggested. I saw the decks KC Constructing build and they all looked nice. I believe if hired they would do a good job.

They were timely and got back to me, which was nice. Their price was higher than the low bid which was really low.

Scott was over 1 hour late to begin construction ... measurements were wrong first time; delay in project while new boards were purchased (tried to get me to pay for exact measured wood for replacement)...what would take another crew an afternoon to complete took several days piece-mealing the project. Boards are still not right. Scott said he would fix it. I called and emailed Scott. Outcome of this project = F.

Me and my husband have the deck we've always dreamed of. It is sturdy and attractive. We are very pleased with the work that they did. It was built very well with quality materials. We appreciate Scott and his team for all of the hard work that they've done.

We were very happy with the results of our remodeling/painting job done by Constructing Kansas City. We found them on the internet and they returned our call immediately. They made a proposal for wood rot repair, painting and a deck remodel. We had a home that was just plain ugly - it had significant wood rot, peeling paint, and a big monstrosity of a deck that looked dated and shabby. We needed it to be repaired and updated but we were on a relatively small budget. Laura, Jose, Esther and Scott were all very helpful and creative in finding a way to accomplish what we needed for the least amount of outgo. The house color scheme they suggested looks great, and Gerardo, the painter, gave great suggestions on where to put trim colors. Scott did a fantastic job of taking our existing deck, repairing and replacing, and making it look like a new deck. I didn't think our house could look this good. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody looking for siding, painting, or decks and patios. They are creative, honest and reasonable in price.
