Description of Work: I used a chimney sweep a year ago called Chimney Doc’s. I think they first came out in February last year. They had to replace the tiles in the chimney because it was broken and they replaced all that with a steel thing. So they had to special order that and they finished it March or April.

Description of Work: Gave me an estimate that was too high. |The estimate included work not asked for but probably needed just did not want to do at this time. Only wanted a fix, they sho uld have told me no and not wasted my time and theirs..people shoud listen to what the customer wants. I am sure they are excellent but not now. |

+ -1 moreWas very informative. Came for an inspection and found the tiles in the chimney in poor repair. The liner needed to be ordered for the repair. Mel and his crew came on time and got the job done timely. Part of the crew worked on the roof with the liner and chimney repair. They cleaned the chimney and wood burning fireplace. I have never had a fireplace before. Mel showed me how to use the fireplace. He told me to have my fireplace cleaned once a year. I an very happy with Chimney Doc.
Description of Work: Installed steel liner in the chimney.

+ 1 moreExcellent job. Punctual, easy to work with, reasonably priced, professional, considerate and did a very good job.
Description of Work: Repair chimney liner. Removed bricks and repaired chimney from both the exterior and interior. Repositoned bricks upon completion. This group was very punctual and professional and easy to deal with. They removed bricks from my chimney in order to patch the chimney and when they replaced the bricks they did such a good job that you could not tell where the bricks were removed. They were considerate and cleaned up thoroughly behind themselves. They were the third chimeny repair company that inspected the chimney and the only compnay that had the ability to actually know how to patch the gaps in my chimney instead of merely replacing the lining. Their pricing was very reasonable and the job was a big success. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone else.

+ -1 moreEverything was poor with this company. They were surprised to see gas logs in my fireplace, even though they knew that was the reason I had called them. They should not advertise the fact that they work on gas logs because they are not good at that.

We needed some chimney repair work done and instead of charging us for something that would not work, they explained the situation and performed the proper repair work. It is very refreshing to find a company that is honest and competent. Their prices are very reasonable. The work was done on time and completely as promised. They also cleaned up the work site. I would hire them again for any chimney services.

+ -1 moreThey charged a fee of $75 to come and give an estimate. But they said that the fee would be deducted from any work that they did. They had put in a flue among other things, and they were going to charge $150 just for one flue. We searched and found that you could get it at $35, so it wouldn't have been worth it even with the deduction.

+ 2 moreOn the first visit they inspected the fireplace and provided a quote for repairs to an old, unused fireplace. We had just bought the house. We had them out 4 months later after we thought about the repairs for awhile. On the second visit I mentioned I was planning on installing doors and gas logs. They provided me with a good quote for the work and some references for places to purchase the doors and logs myself in order to get what I wanted and to save money. About one and a half months later, they came out and installed the logs and doors at a very good price. Each time they were on time, professional, and provided a quality job. They were also concerned that I be happy with the work and the price. I was.
Description of Work: Three visits from Chimney doc for inspection, then repairs, and finally for installation of fireplace doors and gas logs.

+ -1 moreThe Chimney Doc's were on time and very polite. They did their inspection and offered their advise as to what to do to correct the current problems. Like with any household service or purchases, we usually get 3-5 estimates. In this case we went with another company who offered more than just chimney service. We eventually want to put in a vented gas fireplace and the company we chose offered a full line of products and services.
Description of Work: An eyeball inspection was done of our chimney from the outside, inside, and in the attic. I paid $50 for the inspection.
