My husband installed a fan/light combo in our master bath and therefore the switches went from one to four. My husband ran all wire down the wall to the new switches for lights and exhaust fan. However, the exhaust fan was not operating correctly so we called an electrician. They sent out two electricians, one of which only grabbed the wire from the wall and turned off/on power at the breaker-box. They cut a larger hole in the wall to accomodate a larger switch plate box/panel and when I say larger, I mean LARGER! It was too big, they did not anchor the switchbox into anything other then the sheetrock. The switchbox was crooked and ugly. They did not care - not their job to make it look nice. My husband had to fix the switchbox to make it level and anchored and then redo sheetrock work. Once we received the bill, I called the company because they charged me for two guys WORKING the entire time. I disputed the hours, who was actually WORKING, what the NON-WORKING guy had done and was told that "That is what we do and how it goes and it needs two guys" but she would talk to the owner and voice my concerns. I later received a phone call and they discounted my bill by charging me for one and a-half guys working and adjusted material cost due to charging for the wrong items and quantities of what they did use. Charged for 5.25 hours for work that my husband had done most of the work already and then had to make it look nice after they were here! NOT HAPPY AT ALL! The electricians were nice, but not respectful of property and the "look" of their work when finished. Will NOT use again!

Although the problem with the outlets turned out to be contained within the crawl space, I am still not pleased that it took that long to find and fix. The original bill was for $430, and when I asked for some of the billed hours to be removed, the solution was a reduction of 0.5 hours, bringing the bill from $430 to $403.32. I can understand that the problem may have been a bit hard to locate, but 7 hours to fix five outlets and install two lights? Of that 7 hours, 0.5 hours were billed for a third person (at $65/hour) to come and decide what the actual problem was, and 0.5 hours (at $55/hour) were billed for a trip back to the shop for supplies. So add that up: $60 billed to me for someone to come and verify someone else's work and for a trip to get supplies that they should have had on hand. On top of that, it took three days for them to get back to me with their "resolution" to my concerns, and their "resolution," what they apparently feels passes for customer service, was a 7% discount on the bill. Terrible service and terrible customer service.
Description of Work: Asked to troubleshoot and fix five power outlets, and install two exterior lights, replacing existing, running no new wire.
