On Thursday, 26 October 2017, a technician from Connell Plumbing and Heating was dispatched to my residence, at my request. The technician was not friendly at all. He did not introduce himself. He simply walked in the door and asked where the furnace was. I asked him if he needed anything and replied he just needed to be left alone. After about 30 minutes he said he was done and I would be billed. He walked out, got in his his truck and left. The following night, 27 October 2017 was expected to have temperatures into the 20’s. Just after midnight I realized the furnace wasn’t working. Nothing was working. I built a fire and began to troubleshoot the furnace. The furnace was caked in dirt and looked like it hadn’t been opened. I looked at the schematics and isolated a bad fuse as the cause. We spent the night around the fire and I replaced the fuse the next morning. Furnace worked again. When I received the bill, on a Friday, it was due the following Monday. I called Connell to let them know about the poor service and the late bill, they told me “it happens”. The guy also blamed me for the furnace not working. I decided not to lose my cool and ended the call, wrote a letter and delivered my payment. Despite my appeal letter, they cashed the check and did not follow up. Awful company. Do not use.
Description of Work: General furnace maintenance and cleaning in preparation for extremely low seasonal temperatures. My expectation was to have the already fully operational furnace to be cleaned and in full working condition for the winter.

They came and said I had a bad gas valve. They ordered a new valve and installed it the furnace fired up but the warning light keep flashing red. The furnace work till 400 am the next morning and quit. I tried to call Connell but they don’t work on Saturday or Sunday. They had no emergency number so I called Glenn’s Plumbing and heating they came out and fixed it right no problems since. When I got the bill I asked for some adjustment and Connell said the furnace was running when we left. I think is a poor way to treat customers who had to go somewhere else to get the job done right. If you need plumbing or heating work done in Geary Co. Call Glenn’s plumbing and Heating for excellent service NOT Connells.

They came out the same day and were able to fix the problem. I have used Connell since I moved into my house back in 2004, they installed my heating and a/c unit. They are always quick to respond and they are very reliable. The cost is very convenient. As long as I stay here in Junction City, I will continue to use Connell. Without a doubt a great business.
Description of Work: Came out to check a outside faucet that I thought was broken.

On August 7th, one plumber came to replace a sewer pump in our basement. He had to go pick up a new pump, this travel time charged to our bill. He had to call the company for advice. That night, my son noticed water was leaking out on to the floor. We called the next morning to tell them that the pump wasn't pumping. That trip two men came out (the original plumber and another man). My son was watching the entire time and even helped them turn on the water so they could watch to determine the problem. The float inside the pump was positioned against the side of the hole where the pump was installed. The two plumbers took my son's new broom and used it to push the float into place. These events were the extent of their work that day. The pump began to work normally. However, the problem arose when they reported to their employer that they had removed tree roots from the pump's housing and that was the cause for their second visit. This certainly was not the case. The pump area was never cleaned out--only the pump was replaced and float adjusted. We are being charged extra charges for work regarding their false claim of having removed tree roots. My son asked the owner of the company why, if there were tree roots present, weren't they removed the first visit on the 7th. My son saw the black bag that the old pump was placed in and there were no tree roots in it.
Description of Work: On August 7th, one plumber from Connell Plumbing came to replace a sewer pump in our basement. After it was installed, he left. He and another plumber had to return the next day when the pump failed to pump water through it. The float inside the pump required adjustment as it was pressing against the side of the housing for the pump down in the floor.

Shouldn't have had to pay for first visit and now after 2 visits, my toilet leaks!
Description of Work: Came to fix Toilet that wouldn't flush correctly. First guy came and thought it was fixed, but as soon as he left it started doing the same thing. Had to have second plumber come back out 3 days later. He fixed it right away, but ever since the toilet has leaked. We were charged for both visits.

The guy showed up and I showed him what needed work. He was a pleasant guy and nice to talk to. Very understanding. He tried hard to get through the clog. After trying his best he said the drain is probably collapsted under the floor and would probably need to be cut out. I said thank you. I got the bill which was resonable for his time but not for the results. I figered out that this type of thing is covered under our AHS home owners warrenty same as our appliances. So we called them and with a $60 copay two guys came. They worked really hard and was able to break through it. This is all after I had started to use a chisle to break the floor out around the drain thinking I would save some money. That was hard work so I am glad I gave up on that.
Description of Work: The drain in the basement sink would not go down. They came and tried with a power auger thing and was unable to break through.
