Our house is a 2-story wood frame house with no stone or brickwork, 20 years old, and in generally good condition. Now, ten years after our last do-it-ourself paint job, we were looking for someone to paint the exterior and replace some rotted trim. Before I contracted with Tom, I got several other estimates. His was the low bid by a small amount over one company and by quite a bit over the others. I contracted with Tom not just because he had the low bid, but also because of the positive comments from several other of his customers on Angie's List. He also offered a 10% discount on labor if the job was booked before the end of April.The final bill was the same as the estimate From the beginning, Tom responded promptly to our request for an estimate; gave a very accurate estimate of when he could get to our job; and kept in contact before he arrived to finally begin the job. Tom worked with two other crew members over a 3-day period to complete the job. They were very professional, arriving before 8:00 am each day and working straight through until about 3:00 or 3:30 with only a short break for lunch. They used paint brushes around the windows, trim, and small areas, and spray painted the large areas of siding. They removed the pieces of rotted trim and cut new pieces to replace it. Tom answered all of our questions and concerns during the job; did just the work that we had agreed on; and, by the end, we thought the new paint job looked very nice and professional and the new trim attractive and a vast improvement over the old. The only glitch in the entire process occurred when the someone at the paint store had written down the wrong number of the paint color for the siding. However, this was not Tom's fault and after discovering the problem, he rushed back to the store to get the correct color of paint. Thankfully, only a small section of siding had been painted before the error in color was noticed. The only small recommendation we have is perhaps a bit more time on the clean-up, as I found quite a few bent nails and small pieces of trim and scraped paint chips on the roof/guttering a couple of days later - but no big problem. Overall, our experience with Tom Jellison Painting was very positive and I would not hesitate to use his service again or recommend him to anyone wanting an excellent paint job at a reasonable price.

The painting went okay. Due to weather and other projects, he did not get to the job quite as soon as planned. But once they began painting, they were very efficient, did the job and cleaned everything up.

Jellison Painting of Topeka did a great job!! I had originally worked with them on my house in Topeka in 2010, and when I moved to the Kansas City area I was glad to hire them again. They were willing to commute, arrived on time, cleaned up the work area at the end of every day, and they were polite and unobtrusive. Tom gave me great advice on colors and surfaces, and used high quality paints that were reasonably priced. They able to make repairs to wall surfaces and woodwork before painting, made sure windows and doors were properly sealed before painting, and they were willing to go back and retouch/redo if needed. I felt safe with them in my house, and felt safe leaving the house for appointments while they worked. I am having Jellison painting return to do another project later this month, and they will also be doing work for my neighbor. I am happy to recommend them.

I really liked them and would have gone with them except that I ended up getting a better deal through another company. My overall experience with them was absolutely fine and I would contact them in the future.

He and his crew were very professional from the time of the estimate and through the completion of the job. They did the entire prepwork and cleanup in 2 and 1/2 days and kept me posted on time of completion. We were very pleased with the work and the cleanup. He is going to do some painting for us and some other projects this spring. We have already recommended him to a friend who wants his ceilings redone!

Overall it was an excellent experience and will certainly be using Tom Jellison Painting again!

Other bids did not include all buildings and were much higher than Tom Jellison. He and his crew were very neat and thorough. Also stained our large deck and painted our front porch including all the spindles and railings! The other bids excluded these items. Would recommend very highly!

Tom and his two-man crew were there promptly at 0800. Finished around 2:30 p.m. No runs, no drips, no errors. Jellison also covered two holes in the eaves on another side of the house to prevent critters from getting into the attic until we paint the balance of the house next year. Jellison will do that job, too. Very pleased with his work.

Responded to e-mail enquiry, made a good estimate. Responded to questions about timing of different elements of the job. Came early on the first day and went right to work. Finished on the second day as planned. The house looks beautiful....and apart from the bright look of the newly painted house, there is no left-behind to indicate that they were ever here.

He is on time. Sticks to his proposals and can find the right colors that end up the right way. We were so pleased with his work on our Topeka home he is currently doing our Kansas City home as well. He is excellent with trim work and has a construction background so he can handle any little suprises that may come up. His clean-up is outstanding and he has been a pleasure to work with.
