AMERICAN POOL COMPANY

It started off good work. They began on Monday, they worked a day and half excavating and then waited for a site inspection which was done the next day. They didn't return until the following Friday afternoon, a week and a half later. There was a little rain on the weekend, but it was completely dry by Wednesday. Then they returned on Monday and worked again. Then they did not return again until the following Wednesday a little over a week again. Then they returned the next Wednesday to hook up the pumps and finish up site work. They only worked a little under 5 days, so they work fast, just only show up once a week. I only got them out the last time by threatening to lock off the job site and finish it by other means, so they showed up by the deadline I gave them. The salesmen passed along to the owner(since I couldn't get a hold of him), that I need to talk to him. I never heard from him. I sent him a nice but disappointed email, but no response. They made sure they made a special trip out on 2 occasions, to collect payments that were due according to the contract, but they only came out to work when they felt like it, no explanation. I did find part way thought the construction, that the guys were not employees of the company, but contractors that did other work for others also. This is a problem as their website says that no sub-contractors are used. You either are an employee or a contractor, there is no in-between. Overall the construction is very good, but the customer service is terrible and comments from the owner are unacceptable. I would not recommend them to anyone, there are other pool contractors in town, that I had talked to and heard good things about. I took my time, last fall looking for a pool contractor, visited jobs sites and looked at the work of several companies. I guess I picked wrong.
