Joe Fletcher Painting had nice guys working with him. They cleaned up after themselves and they were on-time everyday.

What we found out when asking for bids for this project is that 1) it was hard to find anyone to give us a formal bid after seeing our cabinets, 2) if we did get a bid (only received 3 out of the 8) the price was not even in the same ballpark, and 3) the method in achieving what we wanted was not the same across contractors. What we didn't realize when starting this project is just how difficult it is for a painter to stand behind their work when taking older wood cabinets finished in who knows what, covered in years of who knows what and trying to change that to a white, painted finish. Joe was very comfortable with the bid process. He knew exactly what needed to be done and his bid reflected that. A couple weeks before we were set to start the project, he received an anxious call from me concerned about the oil based paint he wanted to use yellowing over time and looking "off" against my new, bright white subway tile. He didn't dress me down, or speak condescendingly to me, he just researched a different vendor and decided to go with Porter over Benjamin Moore. Truth be said, the difference was probably nominal, but he accommodated my request and in the end I received an industrial grade paint, which might actually hold up and according to Joe, won't yellow enough to be visible to the naked eye. The most impressive part of watching Joe work over the course of 10 days, was to see his approach to painting and how easy he made it look. Simple things, like prepping really well, identifying hardware as he took it off, staggering what was painted when in the garage to give him maximum efficiency and how well he cleaned up after each day to give him a clean start the next day while respecting our living space. He went as far as to work on the 4th of July to get us in a better spot in using our kitchen again. I do not have a high opinion of most painters. In fact, I paint quite well myself and find that my heart is in it enough in my own house that I don't cut corners and that is what I see in most painters we have used. However, for all the reasons I mentioned above about the difficulty, coupled with a very hectic life, we opted to treat ourselves and hire this one out. I am glad we did. Joe is not your average, sub par painter. He cares about doing a quality job and making sure when it is all said and done you are happy with the project. He is also a professional painter with many years behind the job he did for us and it showed in the quality of the finish.

We contacted Joe via Angie's list, and scheduled a day for him to come ot the house to prepare a bid. He quoted a dollar amount on the spot, and was available to begin the next week. He moved furniture and provided all preparation. He completed the project in the time estimated.

He contacted us quickly and came the next week to do the job. He was on time the day of the job and was in and out in 4 hours with 2 coats. My expectations were exceeded when he reinstalled the outlet covers and vaccumed. It was also him and his son that showed up which I thought was great. Would invite back anytime to do more painting for us.

My experience with him was good. He was fast, professional and clean; he made sure everything was clean when he left. The price was good. I would rate him highly and would definitely use him again in the future if necessary.

Excellent organization skills on this huge 3 day job. They moved furniture, cleaned baseboards, caulked all holes, painted walls, and painted trim. They then stripped hardware from kitchen cabinets and repainted our white kitchen cabinets, that now look like new. Very professional, trustworthy and friendly.
