Too many problems and lack of space for full details. Nate, rep. of company, came out and spoke with us concerning the roof. We were told the company would handle all issues, address everything to the insurance company and to us, and submit all supplements to the the insurance company. Nate and the insurance adjuster did an inspection of the roof. Nate came back over and went though the estimate with us. He provided us a color choice for the shingles, drip edge and gutters/downspout. He was told we did not want black on the roof and verified while there that the drip edge would be in white. He was told we would need access to our garage to get our equipment in and out as well as my wife's scooter. She would have to have access to the garage around 5:30. We were told if we needed their trailer moved from the drive, it would only take a moment. Prices were stated on a separate agreement form, that showed an amounts being deducted from total amount that would be due. We would later discover figures to be incorrect. Work was scheduled for 7/14. When myself and crew member arrived home approx 10 am that day from our first job, I discover an English challenged crew. We are not predudice, but it was of concern as we had major problems with another English challenged crew on a different project and did not want a repeat of problems. Their trailer was parked so close to the garage I could not get equipment in or out. They did not have a truck to move the trailer. That took a while to get moved and the crew chief had an attitude about it when he moved it claiming it was harder to throw things further. I told him my truck and trailer where in the street and I deal with that issue daily. It was all part of the industry and the job and they knew I had to have access to the garage. I would later be accused by Nate of being prejudice, as well as forcing them to move the trailer to the street (although Nate stated when they had moved the trailer that it would be moved to the street after the tear off) causing them hardships and he had to pay them extra compensation. I told him that was a lie as if they didn't have tear off complete by 5:30 or moved the trailer before then that wasn't our problem. I did errands during the day and came home once to find a Mexican beer box in our trash. I was not happy about that and addressed that to Nate, who claims he would and did investigate, but never even came back out until the almost claimed completion several hours later. Later in the day I noticed the tarps that had been over our hot tub and smoker had been removed and there was debris over both and damage to both. Near the claimed completion, I went to the back yard and discovered that they had put on black vents, painted all the pipes and any fittings black, and had black over spray all over the shingles. I immediately addressed that with Nate who stated they always paint pipes to match. I told him the pipes were not suppose to be painted, they were to have been replaced, and if we didn't want black drip edge we surely didn't want black vents or the pipes painted black or black over spray on brand new shingles. I noticed a piece around the large pipe (heater I believe) that had not been fixed. He and a crew person hurriedly put on a piece of metal, slapped on some sealer and spray painted it black. I told Nate then that the piece wasn't aligned properly, was crooked, and wasn't flush with the roof. He looked at it not being aligned properly but couldn't move it as it has already been sealed, said it was for something as if it didn't matter, spray painted it again, and too off without saying anything. I attempted several times through text and e-mails to address the vents. pipes and over spray issue, as well as the other damage. I received no reply as to getting things corrected. I then contacted the company with all the situations above, speaking with Jessica. She acted of of little interest to hear things. Over a week later I called again and was told that the owner (Brad Rogers) would contact us by at least the following Tuesday. On the following Thursday I still had not received a reply and filed a claim with their insurance company as well as a BBB complaint. Before their insurance company came out, a rep for our current home owners ins came out and took pictures and did an inspection. While on the roof he noticed an area around the large pipe where the decking appeared to be damaged. I addressed that with the city inspector who finally came out and looked at things from the attic and took pictures. He showed both Nate & I a picture of the damage. Before leaving Nate claimed they completed their work per agreement and a lien would be filed if payment wasn't made. Their insurance company came out and they said they could see the damage from the ground. Brad finally contacted me asking why a claim and complaint had been filed without contacting him first. I told him I had tried many times to do so. He set up a time to meet with us. In the process we are sent a supposed final invoice that had wrong figures and a certified letter of the same claiming we had been paid a certain amount by the insurance company that was due. In checking with the insurance company I was told Rogers had never sent in proper information to the gutter part of a supplement they had submitted and thus that part was never approved or paid to us. When Brad met with us all figures were shown and explained to him. He agreed with these figures. It was also addressed that a deduction amount was incorrect and he changed that and initialed it. He went to the backyard and saw the issues. He tried telling me that as things were covered that the wood would stiffen back up. I stated that did not address the fact the decking had been damaged, and the inspector stated it needed replaced. It was unknown at that time if or how the roof could have passed yet the decking needed replaced. Brad aid he's check on it and I stated I would too. Brad stated the vents would be replaced to the galvanized color, the pipes and covering would be scraped, and corrected to the galvanized color. He tried to tell me that the over spray would wash off in a few rains yet I told him we already had several rains at it was still there (and still is as of this review). It was discussed we were never told of any decking issues nor given the option to replace. He stated most homeowners can not afford to replace decking. I told him I'm not most and don't categorize us. He stated crews and project managers would be instructed in the future to address decking with the ins company and the homeowner. I stated that didn't solve our issue now though. He stated he would send in a supplement for the decking and if not approved would be at his cost. I contacted our insurance adjuster several times to see if the decking would be covered and was told every time he was waiting on receiving proper information from Rogers, as they had sent in a supplement for complete redecking claiming they had done so just to appease us. That did not go over good. In the process of things I discovered and area by our garage that had rotted decking with a hole through it and black sticky substance showing through. I sent a picture to Brad, who stated tin was over that area and if nailed down they don't remove. The agreement however states tear off to decking. I tried getting answers from the city inspector on clarification if the roof had passed inspection. I was told that it had as it was covered. Carlos, from Carlos Roofing (who was the roofing subcontractor) called a few days after Brad had met with us upset over things and that he could come out the next day to do the corrections. I told him we were waiting on the insurance company for answers on paying for the decking as well as from Brad on the decking cost if the insurance did not pay for it, so everything could be done at the same time. On Sept. 3rd in the morning Brad sends an e-mail stating if work was not done by the 7th he could no longer assist. I spoke with the insurance adjuster that day who stated he still had received no proper information from Brad. He stated he would come take a look at things that afternoon. I also spoke with the city supervisor that day who told me that there was no code that "required" a roofing company to address damage or notify the homeowner or insurance company, but that it was a common practice and professional conduct that any reputable company would do and could be expected of by any homeowner. The adjuster came out and took pictures, showing there is still a hole through the area around the large pipe that lets in light and water. He inspected the are around the garage and stated there was no tin over the hole. He stated there is no way anyone should not have been able to see the damage in both areas. I was told that at that time the insurance company would not pay for the damage to the decking according to our policy. This was reported to Brad, and once again asked what our cost would be for the decking. He replied that they would no longer be doing any work or representing us as our contractor. The roof had passed inspection, and if we wanted to complain about the color, the over spray, and a piece of metal it would need done in court. He stated his rep Nate would testify that we told him before work started that he could pick whatever color they wanted for the vents (that alone is an out and out lie) They were hand delivering a lien against the house. We received another copy of the original invoice with still the wrong figures of amount due. We will not pay anything more until corrections are made. Court action may be needed, as well as an extensive broadcast to everyone and everywhere notice can be made to warn people of this company. They are by far the worse company we have ever had to deal with.

Project manager came out and assessed the work that needed to be done. After that he sat down with us. He explained everything their company would do and how they would do it. The entire crew/employees were all incredibly professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and were hard workers. Jobs were completed in a very timely fashion. In our opinion, Rogers Contracting Group is the very best business that Wichita and the surrounding areas has to offer. We would not hesitate to use their services again for any job needed! We highly recommend Rogers Contracting Group to anyone and everyone.
