Description of Work: Replaced a sliding glass door for a Swing out French Door, replaced a basement door which had closing and opening challenges, replaced rotted wood and leveled my old deck.

Description of Work: They put a new roof on a commercial property and then installed solar panels on top of that. They worked diligently in the extreme heat and did a great job. And they were pleasant and cleaned up after themselves.

Description of Work: Had an existing 2nd story wood deck and stairs. Paid to have the deck refurbished, install new decking, add a roof, exterior fan, and screens. Converted an existing deck into a screened in porch. Had asked for new wood flooring but got talked into going with a wood/plastic composite material. Composite decking installed using normal deck screws and ended up with plastic bulges around most of the screw heads. Instead of a smooth deck surface ended up with lots of bumps that are unsightly and just looks awful. Roofing was an industrial grade white plastic material that reflected so much light into my wife's office that even with the heavy window drapes closed, the room became almost unusable due to the heat. We had asked about the heat reflecting from the white roof and were told that it would not be a problem. New deck supports were installed at 24" spacing which resulted in a very springy deck. The Contractor did admit this mistake and did install additional deck supports at 12" spacing, but the additional supports are not level with the older ones so there is still come "give" when walking on the deck. The plastic deck material is a little over a year old and starting to show signs of de-laminating and the deck surface is fuzzy in spots. The material problem is not the Contractor's fault, but the lack of records of where the material was purchased has kept us from being able to use the composite material's warranty. The Contractor was unable to provide receipts for the decking, so we were unable to claim any warranty service from the composite material manufacturer. Apparently the Contractor had not used this material before and did not follow the proper installation process. We also had trouble with a new screen door that was installed and did not fit properly. A 2' by 4' screen above the new screen door was never installed. The ceiling has molding on some sides but not all. Contractor left town before finishing the work and said that he would finish our deck as soon as he got back. Several months later we found out that he was back in town, but working on another job. We talked to him about finishing our work and he said that he would stop by after he finished his other work. After several more months, he had not returned, so out of frustration, we told him that we no longer needed his services. We were initially very excited to have a new screened in porch, but then we started noticing all these issues and are now in the process of having the porch rebuilt. Believe that the Contractor did not acquire a building permit for this work.

Description of Work: LUKE'S HANDYMAN SERVICE...........has also been very helpful so far in getting back with us by phone and email. Luke came by last weekend and looked at the work we needed done. He gave us an estimate two days later and is scheduled to be here tomorrow morning to complete the work. Again, I will give another report when the work is done. UPDATE........WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED! Luke showed up on time on Saturday morning and spent most of the day here. He was unable to complete everything, but came back on Sunday afternoon to finish up. We are very pleased with the work he did and have already contacted him to get another job done for us. We had an arrangement with another contractor to complete our entryway, which included installing oak end caps on our stairway, installing metal spindles on our stairway and laying ceramic tile. This contractor got the work partially finished then came up one excuse after another not to come back and finish. This is when I started looking for someone else to come in and complete the work. I was very impressed with LUKE'S HANDYMAN SERVICE from the beginning contact with them. Luke installed the stairway spindles and did some repairs to the ceramic tile, then did the grouting on the tile. It's difficult to come in and clean up and complete someone else's work, but we are very satisfied with what Luke did for us. I would highly recommend him.
