 + 0 moreCalled for a chimney sweep and inspection, but my house was built in 1940 and the chimney cap was permanently affixed, so they weren't able to complete the inspection/cleaning. He recommended I use a different company that had different equipment that would work better for the job. I appreciated his honesty, and have recommended him to friends and family. Would definitely use him again if I could.

Description of Work: The chimney sweep we used for the previous three years had gone out of business. Honestly, I picked Turn of the Century Chimney Sweep because, other than another company I won't name who we had a terrible experience with, Turn of the Century was the first one that said they'd come out to Benton. Braxton (the owner) took all my calls personally while we tried to schedule a good time for him to come out (my husband works nights, making scheduling difficult). On the day he was scheduled to come, he called ahead of schedule to let me know he was running late and would be at our house in 20 minutes. He arrived 10 minutes later and did a thorough job cleaning the chimney for our high-efficiency stove. He noted mud daubers had built several nests in the chimney, but he cleaned them all out. He also inspected our second fireplace (regular - no fireplace insert) inside and out, and made several suggestions for cleaning the creosote around the flu. He did offer to clean it if I wanted, but since I knew how to, I did not have him do that. He did not use any high-pressure techniques to try to get us to change our minds, which I appreciate. The price was exactly in the area I'd been paying before. He was in and out in less than an hour. Overall, I would highly recommend this small business. Braxton was extremely polite and professional, and (having worked with many service people and contractors), I ESPECIALLY appreciated his calling when he knew he'd be late, and then showing up before the estimated time. He was courteous, quick, and friendly. I hope Turn of the Century stays in business for a long time, and they'll certainly have my business and recommendation for as long as they do.

 + -1 moreI have used them for several years and they are very good. We live on the countryside and have a lot fire wood. We burn the fire in the fire place all winter and so, we always have to have it cleaned every year. They are prompt and efficient. I think that their price is right. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
