I had my roof replaced by this company in 2009 and was satisfied with their work and the people I dealt with beforehand. I had a 5 year warranty with their First Choice plan. Later in the same year I noticed a few loose shingles, I called, someone came out the very same day and fixed it on the spot. I was impressed. In September 2013, I noticed a leak in the lower level of my house which I traced back to the heating vent pipe on the roof. I called the roofing company, gave my name and date when I had the roof work done, and inquired if it was still under warranty. NO was the quick and curt answer I received and was told the warranty was only for one year. When I protested, I was asked if I had First Choice and I replied that I did. Then I was informed that it was under warranty until June of 2014. I tried to explain where the leak was and said it was dripping over the water heater. I was then given the suggestion that it must be coming from the water heater and was informed that Walty Roofing did not fix water heaters. I did not like the fact that it was automatically assumed that it was not under warranty and was the fault of the water heater. I disagreed and told about the signs of it in an upstairs closet directly under the vent pipe. It seemed to me that the sole purpose of Walty Roofing was to find a way where it would NOT be under warranty. My number was taken and I was told someone would get in touch with me. This was on Friday, Sept. 9th, sometime around noon. There was no call back Friday afternoon or on Saturday. On Monday I still had not received a call back so I called around 11 that morning. This time I talked with a different person who did not know about it but looked it up in the file. She told me the message was supposed to have been given to the repairman, but she would get in touch with him and have him call me. She called back around 1:00 and told me the repairman would be here on Tuesday, Oct. 1st. On Tuesday, the repairman came right on time and was shown the water stains in the closet and got on the roof to examine the vent pipe area. He took pictures of both these places. (which I thought was strange since the other repairman did not do this) He told me it was a different kind of vent pipe and flashing and he would have to check on how to repair it and would get in touch with me in a couple of days. On Thursday, Oct. 4, I got a call back and was told that Walty Roofing thought it was a "pipe problem" and not the roof. I was told to call Kruse Metal from Wichita to look at it and if they thought it was a roof problem then Walty would fix it. I disagreed it was the fault of the pipe and told him it sounded like Walty Roofing was trying to get out of fixing it. He denied this and repeated that it Kruse Metal found the roof was the problem then Walty would fix it. I told him I had a very good heating and cooling company here in El Dorado that would look at it and he agreed that this would be okay. n the meantime, I had a local guy look at it. This guy does all sorts of re-modeling projects and has been doing work on my house. He is very well-known for quality and fair work. He looked at it, said it was a very simple thing to fix, and wondered why Walty didn't go ahead and do it. There was nothing wrong with the pipe vent. He put some sort of sealant around it and the whole job took about ten minutes. My problem is fixed now but I am so disgusted with Walty for making a hassle and problem about a simple job and cannot understand why??? Is this a standard procedure when a warranty is almost over?? From the first phone call, I got the feeling that Walty Roofing was trying to get out of fixing this. It should have been a quick simple procedure instead of all the run-around I received from Walty Roofing which is supposed to be known for good customer service.

They were recommended to us by our insurance company. There was a situation where the roof had a slant where it was not as steep and he told me that we had to have a different kind of roof there but then later on they just put that roof on the way they said they couldn't do it. Now I am wondering if I am going to have problems. It does not have the type of slope necessary. It seemed like an oversight on their part that they didn't want to correct.

They got into fights, their quality was extremely low, they didn't seem to know how to install the product. I ended up having to kick them off the job. The person they had as a liaison between the crews was very helpful but he couldn't do much about the team. They were extremely slow.
