You don't have to babysit them -- you don't have to worry about what they are doing! They do what they are ask. If they are unsure of anything they will check in with you. "They were working on my neighbors yard and trampled through mine multiple times during the process. All while parking a trailer and skid steer in my cul-de-sac blocking my garbage cans from being picked up and my mailbox. I called and asked why only to be berated by Andrew and then hung up on...I am in the wrong for wanting them to move and not drag things through my yard for my neighbors project evidently. I called back to get yelled at by Andrew again. I have never been treated so ridiculously by a contractor or really anyone for that matter. I sincerely would not work with this company."

Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch. If you’re trying to create a certain soil composition to improve plant growth, you’ll likely want compost mixed into the topsoil instead of mulch.
