Horrible communication skills by "owner" Mishell. Basic business etiquette seems to escape her. I was interviewed and hired on the spot for a sales position but asked for my status to be 1099 and not W2. After waiting a week for someone to get back to me I finally reached out to her and set up a 10:00 a.m. call. At 10:15 the following day I had to call her and confronted her on her lack of communication. Her response was revealing. Did not apologize and even made a mild threat of telling other companies about me because I dared to confront her. The company seems solid but they need to let her do something more at her emotional level. Perhaps light cleaning and coffee prep for the professionals. The response that was left 36 minutes after this post is misleading. The issues that I had with the communication were before any information about not coming aboard was disclosed. As of my interview Chris Sanson had offered me the job. It is misleading and again another revealing mark of the character of management to try to manipulate the story of my experience to be just someone upset because they didn't get the job. At this point it was a godsent. Still not taking responsibility.🙄🤢 Sad

This is not a client of Cox Roofing. This is an individual who interviewed for a job at Cox, he wanted to change the current pay structure for the position he was applying for. He has shown signs of being aggressive and since then, he has not stopped harassing the owner. We are currently seeking solutions for this situation.

Did additional damage took 8 months to come back. Did not repair to correctly, lied about it , did not return emails after they said to communicate that way exclusively, Then implied if I did not pay the last payment they would but a lean against my house. The money never was the issue ( I paid them before they even sent the last email for payment) it was the terrible job they did on my house. Their salesman looked and said it did not look good. My response from Cox Roofing was they stand behind their crappy workmanship. I find that amazing because I invited the owner and any other person to come and review the work and none have taking me up to loo a the poor workmanship. Again not a company you want to do business with.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], we are sorry to hear you had a bad experience with us. Communication is recorded in our CRM and we responded to all of your questions. We received your last payment and you should have received a notification. We understand your frustration when you noticed your house had further damage and would cost more money to get it fixed. There is always room to improve and we take every opportunity to become better at what we do. We wish you good luck.

They destroyed my gutters. I requested they pay for new ones and they were very difficult and stated they would only replace what they had destroyed even though the color would not match. Upon pressing and threatening a suit they contacted my insurance company instead of theirs and my insurance denied it. Now they are trying to charge me and additional 1300 for the gutters. Poor service and a shoddy business. Lousy business.

The gutters have been approved and paid by his insurance company under the same roof claim he had. Insurance company has confirmed they release all funds to the homeowner however he feels he should keep that money. We have let Mr. [Member Name Removed] that profiting from insurance funds it's illegal. All work was done, both roof and gutters have been completed to satisfaction. Homeowner let us know if we did not do all his gutters for free he will be posting reviews like this. We truly appreciate his trust and his business, unfortunately we cannot do the work for free.

I am not usually inclined to review companies, but this experience was so terrible, I felt morally obliged to share my experience on every source I can find: Not only did my standard window job take 8 months to complete, I was told numerous times to be at the location on days where nobody arrived. The company ordered the wrong window color and wrong sized windows. Instead of re-ordering and owning up to the mistake, they installed them anyways. When I requested them to right their wrongs, they drew out the issues for 5 months. During this time, gaps between the exterior walls and the interior of the house remained exposed. Instead of replacing problematic windows they told me they were "functional" and are as good as they can be. Which I believe is in complete contradiction to their website. They refused to come out and correct their mistakes, so I brought out my general contractor and another that specializes in windows to evaluate their work, and both laughed audibly. Saying the windows were neither square nor plumb. In conclusion, if you don't mind a six month project for only functional windows, this company is tolerable.

Response from Cox Residential
Customer service is the utmost important to Cox Residential and would like to offer our reply. Cox Residential did not order the incorrect windows. The Supplier Ordered the wrong color of windows, and we did not know this until they were delivered. We cannot control mistakes made by a third party suppliers. In fact Mr [Member Name Removed] received a free upgrade due to their mistake. Last year was exceptional with the amount of construction happening everywhere making the suppliers delayed. The windows were weeks on back order which once again we could not control that. After the final installation we have made it to more than 6 property visits, where the client continued to find more and more things he wanted done differently. The Last time installers were at the property during the final walk through Mr. [Member Name Removed] stated he was happy with the end product, only to come back saying he was still not satisfied and had consulted a different contractor to change things again. At that point we had let him know that if he wanted the other contractor to complete the work, we will go ahead and pay whatever his contractor charges, to keep the client happy. Per his request we have credited Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s account the amount of $640.00. His project was not $9000.00 as specified by his review, but $7,979.00. We never refused to come back, as matter fact we have offered to come back and continue to fix what he feels needs to be changed, However we truly believed that giving him the money he requested was going to make him feel satisfied, which we now see it did not. We stand behind all the work we do and do the best that we can to keep all clients happy. We truly feel we did everything within our power to make him feel we appreciate his business to the point we credited his account after the work was done. We would be glad to provide the information showing the supplier mistake, and the documentation of how many times we visited the client's home. We will be glad and continue to come back and do the work rather than the credit he requested.

On the night of November 21, 2013 I was the victim of a profanity-laced verbal assault in my home by Justin Cox, the owner of Cox Residential. Justin had been hired by me in May 2013 to complete some hail damage repairs on my house. Between May and early November 2013, the experience I had with Cox Residential was a roller coaster. It began with me trusting Justin to help me with my insurance claim for the hail damage to my home. I was an inexperienced first-time homeowner and Justin assured me he could help me through the process. Although the workmanship and expedited completion were more than satisfactory, I had a very shocking and disappointing customer service experience. In the time-frame listed, there were serious communication breakdowns. There was a period of almost 2 months in which I could not get a returned call or message from Cox. I was unclear about the steps to take with my insurance company after the work was completed and was looking to Justin for guidance. Once Justin finally remitted paperwork to my insurance and I received the final check, we made arrangements to meet and settle up. Justin was to come to my home at 9 pm on November 21, 2013. I was honestly feeling a little uneasy about meeting with Justin alone. I did ask a friend to be present for the meet. Justin arrived at my house the evening on November 21, 2013 and it felt like he was very unhappy with me. Being confused, I led Justin into the kitchen where I had all of my documentation laid out for review. When I began going through the itemization of the paperwork and payment, Justin became very angry and began screaming profanities at me. I was being accused of trying to rip off Cox Residential. I tried to get him to calm down and look through my paperwork with me. It was then that I received a lengthy, screaming, extremely personal, violation from Justin. My friend showed up about halfway through the altercation and witnessed the exchange. After demanding several times that Justin leave my home he finally did, but not without one final outburst attacking my personal character. The context of the subsequent phone calls and texts was accusation of my short-changing Cox Residential for work completed. I was informed that legal representation for Cox would be in touch with me to collect the outstanding balance. There was no documentation submitted to me detailing any outstanding balance due to Cox Residential and despite repeated requests for this, it was never provided. I emailed Justin a copy of the paperwork I had prepared on November 21. It contained a complete breakdown of the work, with the amount allotted for the items to be completed by a party other than Cox removed. I asked for a return itemization showing the supposed discrepancy from Justin. Despite repeated attempts by me over the next few months, I never did receive any communication from Cox. Finally in February 2014, I noticed that with the inclement weather occurring in Indianapolis, an ice dam had formed on my roof. I reached out to Justin looking for assistance. I asked for warranty information as I did not know if this was something that was caused by the work completed, or if it was simply an unfortunate result of the weather. The response I finally received after several emails basically provided a blank shingle certificate (attached) not guaranteeing anything, a statement that Cox Residential provides no written warranties for anything, and again the accusation that I owed Cox Residential more money. I have once again asked for documentation of this claim in addition to all the paperwork necessary for insurance, warranty and homeowner documentation. I have received nothing. I would like this matter to be resolved completely so that I do not have to deal with Cox Residential ever again. If there is indeed documentation showing that I owe Cox additional money, I would like to see it in writing; something I have been asking for since November. I also want all documentation regarding the material and labor warranties and I want to go on the record about my surprising and disappointing customer service experience with Justin Cox.

Client agreed to the price at the beginning of the project, our mistake was not to get the original contract from her. Once the roof was completed and everything was done she stated she got in financial trouble and she thought a different amount was sufficient. She also made a point that there was nothing we could do as she kept all paperwork and there was no contract to go after. She proceeded to make false accusations in order to get out of the outstanding bill. We decided it was not worth for us to pursue the funds and let her keep them. We repeatedly let her know that when she paid her invoice in full we will be happy to provide all the warranty paperwork. We will be happy to sit down with a mediator as long as it is at her own expense. If she can provide the paperwork that shows the amount that was agreed on which is insurance money and proof that she has covered that amount we will be happy to provide with the warranty paperwork.

They were absolutely terrific. I can’t say enough about how they came out and talked to us. They came out when the insurance adjuster came out, so there was no cross wires, no miss understandings and everybody was on the same page. That worked out really well. They got the work done and the roof looks wonderful. It took a month for the insurance company to put their act together and send me the check, they kept sending it to the wrong address and Cox Residential was very patient in waiting to get their money. I have never had a major repair done to my house like that and they just wonderfully handled everything. I was very impressed. The price was fine; the insurance company did not argue at all about the price and agreed with the price they quoted. We got three-dimensional shingles rather than the flat ones and they look wonderful. I was working with one of their workers, Jonathan and when I called him, he always called me back right away, so I cannot complain about that. They turned up at seven in the morning and started banging up on the roof and I got up on the bed saying, they are here! They got it all done and cleaned up and didn’t leave a mess or anything, so they did a real good job.

The Cox roofing crew was very professional and showed up on time. Once they were finished, they cleaned up all their materials, leaving nothing behind. The company followed up on their work to make sure it was in accordance with what I wanted. I will use this company again and strongly recommend Cox Residential to anyone considering roofing.
