Cooper's Water Conditioning

We started with the free estimate, the guy was very professional and answered all of our questions about the water softeners, and helped us to pick the right model. Actually the estimate was done the same day we first called the company, it was very convenient. The installation crew called us when there were getting closer. Showed up on time. Were very professional, and it took them about 2 hours to complete the installation. We would recommend Cooper's Water Conditioning to everyone who need new water softeners, the price is reasonable, and the service is great.

We called several companies to compare products and pricing. We chose Coopers Water Conditioning based on their knowledge of products and service provided and their ability to install within a week or less was a plus too. Our water softener installers Kevin and Travis were punctual, professional and informative.

My original review was less than flattering because of series missed appoints. However, Mr. Cooper personally saw to it that our appointment was kept and compensated our inconvenience by not charging for this year's appointment and next year's as well. If you judge a company not by their mistakes but how they handle them, then Cooper Water gets an A. I appreciate the effort to ultimately provide full customer satisfaction.

Since I new nothing about water softeners and the previous owners left no paperwork on the one that I had. I went down to the utility room in the middle of the night because I awoke hearing water running when I got down there the water softener was running water out of a white hose from the top of the water softener and discharging it in sump pump drain. After about fifteen minutes it quit so I went back to bed. About an hour later running water woke me up again, you got to understand I'm in a new house and all new noises are strange and not normal which will wake a person up and it did. So I tracked it down easily this time to the water softener and it was doing the same thing. So after a few minutes I started turning off valves until it stopped and I still had water in the rest of the house. Since I've never had a house with a water softener and the people I know that have one that use them the water to us taste salty. Since I don't use salt I notice the taste of salt very easy. Well since I didn't think I needed it I let it go for about nine months and I notice the rust rings building up in the toilets and the lime deposits building up in the coffee pot and the washer I though it was about time I got somebody (with a big suggestion from my Daughter n law) to see what is wrong with the water softener. Then Coopers came to my rescue the next day (after I canceled my original appointment with them because I had to take my wife to the Doctors) They were in the area and called me to see if I still needed them to come by to see if they could take care of my problem, I said yes please. They arrived about ten minutes later. I asked them about the salt taste and they said it should be minimal, first thing they did was check out the salt canister and it was empty of course which made me feel like an idiot. Anyway they went down to the utility room in the basement and I told them what I had done by turning off everything. they turned everything back on and checked it out and said actually it was in pretty good shape and that the discharge was probably from the fact that the salt canister was empty and it was trying to clean itself. They reset all the controls because someone had set it up for a very high content of salt mixture and said normally it shouldn't be that high and changed it to clean on a 4 or 5 day cycle instead of every other day. The two guys were nice and explained everything to me on how to set it up and told me where to go to download a manual on the use and setup and even gave me the model of the unit I had since the name or model was nowhere on it. I will definitely use them again. I had downloaded a coupon for the service run discount but never even thought about it. It would have saved me $25, but it was still worth the $94.00 they charged me. They could have been dishonest and told me I needed a new one and would probably have bought one but they were honest and said actually the one I had was in pretty decent shape but to keep them in mind in the future and I will, I will use them again!

Our appointment was for 9:15. The service man, Keith, called at 9:00 to say he was loading up and heading out. The drive time is at lease 30 minutes. Arrived at 10:20. We found the serviceman dumping the brine & salt down the drain. We had to provide buckets to put it in. We had let the salt run down and not added any for at least 2 months. On arrival at the new house, the serviceman did not bring any floor coverings or shoe protectors. This is pretty standard for most service providers and the softener was being moved into a brand new home. He went through the settings on the unit with me and explained how to change the hardness setting between winter and summer. He told us that the hot water would be hard for 3-4 days unless we wanted to drain the hot water heater. After about 5 days, there still wasn't soft water. Turned out he left the hardness setting on 1 or less. After 1 week, I'm still not sure it was installed correctly. On one of many trips up the stairs, he bumped the handtruck against the stair railing. Additionally, he didn't bring 2 bags of salt. He did discount the bill for it. From conversation, Keith seemed to be experiencing some health and personal issues that distracted him. We are greatly disappointed. The only way we would use Cooper's again is if there is a different service person. 9/11/13 UPDATE TO REVIEW: Scott from Coopers followed up and sent a regular serviceman out on Thurs 9/5. Scott offered to refund our money, but I declined and just asked it to be corrected. Scott informed me that Kevin was a licensed plumber that they used to fill in when their schedule is busy. I applaud a company for reaching out to employees that are having a hard time, but that doesn't excuse a job poorly done. The second serviceman, Derek, was on time and corrected the job quickly. The unit was installed correctly by Keith, but just set wrong. Derek set it and told me to set the unit to 'regen' that night. He also gave me some tips for refilling the salt and a source for salt delivery in our new neighborhood. Everything seems to be working correctly now. Unfortunately, I have hard water film to clean out of the bathrooms.

Cooper's Water Conditioning showed up on time, did everything promised, and for the price they promised! Would use them again.

Cooper's provided us with an outstanding single family home water softener at a phenomenal price. Even with senior and military discounts, a competitor's similar smart water softener was 35% higher in price. The Cooper's technician came out the same day we called, quickly and professionally installed the new water softener, and left our house as he found it. He also demonstrated the feautres of the system, and left us with a 7 year full warranty. Cooper's worked within our budget, and did a fantastic job on the installation and demo. The system works great, and uses less than half the salt of our previous "dumb" model which recharged every night regardless of demand. We could not be more pleased with the whole buying experience with Cooper's, a great company to do business with.

He was willing to meet a competitors bid and he threw in a lot of extras for me. The water softener works great.

They were not very responsive, and they did not call back. I never got a hold of them. I was told there was a change in the company. A guy eventually came out, but said he didn't really work for them. *The owner called after seeing this review and explained why there was a problem and assured me that this wouldn't be an issue in the future.

Every thing went very well. Every thing was cleanedup and old things removed. Nothing for me to do. The water softener works great. I'm very happy with it. Can't say enough about the reverse osmosis system. Finally ater nine years in this house, I can use water from the faucet (lots of minerals in the well water) and drink and use water and ice from the refrigerator. No more bottled water and trips to the store to get it. It will need a filter once a year and since I'm mechanically challenged, I hope I can talk him into stopping by once a year and replace it for me ( or at least show me how). very pleased with the results.

They did an excellent job. Their price is good and they are responsive.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we got a burst of water and a rush of several handfuls of a sort of particulate sandy Stuff when turning on the water at our kitchen sink ... the sandy stuff was gold-ish in color. It turned out it was the silicate media of the water softener in our basement .... a 16-yr-old unit that had done a good job for us. But, that sandy-gold stuff had clogged all of the pipes, and we were virtually without water supply. We purchased about a dozen gallons of water at the supermarket, to have drinking/cooking water, and be able to heat water on the stove to do dishes, and enough to fill the toilet tanks so we could flush. Luckily, the man of the house knew how to 'blow out' the lines ... open up everything and blast them with water, rinsing out most of the media into buckets ... But, WHAT a hassle! We knew that we had to get a new water softener, and FAST. On Sunday and Monday I researched and shopped around, and used Angie's List to help find the right supplier. We chose Cooper's as they were close by and had good reviews. The salesman got back to us very fast, via phone, and we explored options. One thing that was VERY good was that Cooper's offered "12 mos same as cash" .... so, no need to pillage our savings accounts, and also no need to put the cost on a credit card. The techs/installers were out on Tuesday with a new unit, and they installed it, checked it, and got it going. They also informed me about what they'd found in the pipes (still too much silica!), which helped me make the decision to get a professional plumber out to work on everything (which was needed -- our fancy-schmancy water heater needed specific, professional clean-out). The two guys arrived on time, were quick and thorough with their installation, removed the old softener, and got the water flowing into the pipes again. They offered information and opinions on what we needed to do to follow up and ensure our plumbing was all fixed correctly, and I appreciated the time and attention they gave -- it all proved to be good advice, and there was no benefit to them except to ensure a happy customer. All of the personnel were straightforward, polite, professional, and thorough. Their pricing was competitive, and nothing beats the good terms -- no interest for 12 mos, and we'll have it paid off in less than that. Cooper's did a v. good job, and we recommend them highly.

Overall, my experience was fine. The price was competitive and the work was completed very quickly. The service tech that came out to perform the work was also very friendly. My only complaint is that Coopers promised to come back and haul away my old equipment, yet have never followed through on this. I called twice to try and get this picked up, but nobody ever called me to make this happen. Overall, these guys are good, but I'd make sure they haul away your old stuff when they come to do the initial work!

The guys came as scheduled to service the softener. They were very personable and efficient. Once they opened it up, it was obvious from the rust inside the unit had softened its last. They gave us a price for a new unit and returned the next day, installed it and filled it with salt. All is good! Mom was without water for a much shorter time than I expected. I appreciated the concern they showed for her and the speed with which they took care of her problem.

Parts of the service were good and parts were not as I expected. After my husband first talked to them, it took them over a week to get back to us, in fact I had to call them. After a couple of calls, a person did come to look at our old system. He said it was not working and could not be fixed. He did not charge for that call which was greatly appreciated. He gave me a quote and left a leaflet on the new system. After doing some more research, I called back and schedule an installation of the new system. They came at the scheduled time, and installed the system. However, the installer said he could not take all of the old system away at that time because it was too heavy and his cart had broken. We were supposed to be called the beginning of the following week with a pick up time. When I had not heard from them for over 2 days, I called. They said someone would be out by the end of the week. I waited around until late Friday afternoon and no one came or called. I called and they said they would come on Monday. They were very quick to cash my check, but not quick to pick up the old system which was an inconvenience for me and was part of the orginal aggreement to be hauled away at installation. From installation to pick up was a total of 12 days and several phone calls on my part. The people were always courteous but I feel should have not agreed to times of pickup if they could not be met. Hopefully support for the new system will go well if needed.

Called for an estimate and got one later in the day. Set up installation date and service was performed . Great experience and good value compared to two other estimates.

I called to schedule an appointment which led to a discussion of the life expectancy of a Kenmore unit, set an expectation that this unit had in all probability exceeeded its lifecycle. I appreciated the discussion and expectation setting as it gave me time to think about the solution I wished to pursue if the evaluation supported the expectation.They performed the service and muchto my pleasant surprise was able to restore function on the existing unit and just charged me the normal service call fee.

We had an initial problem after the equipment was installed, but they came right back out when I called them. It turned out to be operator error, and was due entirely to my husband not paying attention to the instructions their technician provided. : ) After they showed me how to operate the equipment, we have not had zero problems. It's great to find a trust-worthy company to work with. I would recommend them to my best friends...and even my Grandmother.

We called Cooper's on a Thursday. A technician could have been scheduled that day. This did not fit our schedule so a technician came first thing Friday morning. The technician represented the company well. He called before he came and had a pleasing personality He completed his work in a timely manner. Before he left our home, he explained how the new conditioner worked in detail. The whole process was handled very professionally. A few days later, I had a question regarding our invoice. When I called the company, Mr. Cooper was not available, and I was told he would call me back. He returned my call within 10 minutes and resolved my question immediately to my satisfaction. I would recommend Cooper's Water Conditioning very highly.

Mr. Cooper was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when I was exploring my options to replace an old softener I bought from a department store that recently failed. After speaking with Mr. Cooper I decided that I was not even got to shop around or compare products as I was sold on the service, support, and warranty. Installation was very easy to schedule and my family said the installer was punctial, polite, and very good. Everything is working great and I plan to go back to Mr. Cooper for a water filter in the coming months.

They were very prompt with the estimate meeting at my house. The gentleman (so sorry I forget his name now) was very nice, and discussed several options for my water. He was the first one that did not try to sell me more than I needed, but actually tried to get me to spend less than most others. He even called back and after a brief discussion, he even suggested a completely different system than we had discussed during the estimate. Whereas I had preciously been quoted over $4k by others, he got me in a system for around $2200 total with installation. I now have a new water heater that has not run out yet, a new softener and filter system that has made all the difference in the world for our water quality. The install was very prompt and professional also. Both workers were on time and got to work directly. They were very nice about discussing what they were doing with me and even giving me some pointers on what I could do myself reference my plumbing. They cleaned up after themselves and were done within 3 hours. Total time from estimate to install was in the same week. I will try to update this in about 6 months.

I had a very positive experience overall. I purchased the water softener from them originally and have chosen to continue working with them. I’ve found them to be professional. They resolve any issue to my satisfaction.
