I DID WANT A NEW BATTERY FOR MY WIRELESS RAIN SENSOR & HE WAS GOING TO INSTALL A WHOLE NEW SENSOR BECAUSE THEY FOUND THEM TO BE UNRELIABLE & HE THOUGHT THE BATTERIES COULDN'T BE CHANGED. Description of Work: I PAID $104 FOR SPRING STARTUP. ($40 IS FOR THE BACKFLOW REPORT) I DID NOT USE THE SYSTEM MOST OF THE SUMMER AND WHEN I DID TRY TO START IT UP IT DID NOT WORK. IT WAS CLOSE TO WINTERIZATION SO I WAITED FOR THE SERVICE TO SHUT IT DOWN. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT THE WORK WAS DONE NOR ANY REPORT THAT THE SPRINKLERS WERE WORKING. THE HEADS ARE NOT VISIBLE. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND WAS YELLED AT AND INSULTED BY ONE OF THE OWNERS. THEY DID NOT OFFER TO CHECK THE SYSTEM. ALL THEY WANTED WAS THE $69 FOR WINTERIZATION. I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER COMPANY.

ON APRIL 9TH, 2004, WE STARTED UP AND BACKFLOW TESTED THIS CUSTOMERS SPRINKLER SYSTEM. BECAUSE OF THIS COMPLAINT, WE CONTACTED THE WATER COMPANY TO MAKE SURE THEY RECEIVED THE TEST RESULTS. THE WATER COMPANY CONFIRMED RECEIVING THE RESULTS IN APRIL OF 2004. WE WINTERIZED THE SYSTEM ON OCT 12TH, 2004. THERE WAS WATER IN THE SYSTEM WHEN WE WINTERIZED IT. ON FEBRUARY 7TH 2005, WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM HER BECAUSE WE HAD SENT AN INVOICE INDICATING SHE WAS OVER 90 DAYS PAST DUE. SHE INDICATED TO ME THAT SHE TURNED THE SYSTEM ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER AND IT DID NOT WORK. THEREFORE, SHE ASSUMED THAT WE DID NOT TURN IT ON. I EXPRESSED TO HER THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS WHY HER SYSTEM MAY NOT HAVE WORKED IN THE SUMMER BUT BRINGING THIS TO OUR ATTENTION 5 MONTHS AFTER THE FACT DID NOT MEAN THAT SHE WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SERVICE. SHE ADMITTED TO US THAT SHE DID NOT CALL OVER THE SUMMER WHEN SHE FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM BECAUSE SHE FELT THAT WE DID NOT START HER SYSTEM.

DURING THE INITIAL SYSTEM LAYOUT, THEY WALKED THE LAWN WITH ME TO REVIEW AND VERIFY THE PAPER LAYOUT. THEY SPENT OUR INITIAL MEETING EXPLAINING THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM AND WALKED THROUGH A BRIEF DEMONSTRATION OF THE CONTROLS. THE INSTALLATION CREW MANAGER WAS COURTEOUS AND ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS. THE CREW DID A GOOD JOB INSTALLING THE SYSTEM WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO EXISTING LAWN. THEY WORKED HARD AND FINISHED IN JUST OVER A DAY. WHEN I RECEIVED THE INVOICE FOR THE COMPLETED WORK, I ALSO RECEIVED A LAYOUT OF THE SYSTEM IN THE YARD THAT INCLUDED WHERE EVERY COMPONENT (IE. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, EVEN THOUGH THE MAIN OFFICE CLAIMED THEY WERE RUNNING LATE AND WOULD LIKE TO RESCHEDULE. ASIDE FROM THIS, THE SERVICE WAS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED TO EXPECT FROM THEM (OUTSTANDING). I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE FRONT OFFICE IMPROVE THEIR LINES OF COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR SERVICE REPS.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE SET THE APPOINTMENT FOR 4-21-04 BETWEEN 2PM TO 4PM. THEY DID NOT SHOW FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND DID NOT CALL. I CALLED THEM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK AND DID NOT SAY WHICH DAY IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD CONVERSATION. THEY WERE NOT NICE. I WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN.

THIS MEMBER HAS BEEN A CUSTOMER SINCE OCT 30, 02. IN OUR PHONE CONVERSATION, I APOLOGIZED FOR MISSING THIS APPOINTMENT AND EXPLAINED THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A MISUNDERSTANDING WITH OUR SCHEDULING IN THE OFFICE. WE HAD THIS APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR THE SAME TIME OF DAY, BUT ONE WEEK LATER. I EXPRESSED THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE THAT WE HAD MADE A MISTAKE AND PERHAPS OUR WIRES GOT CROSSED WHEN HE CALLED IN FOR THE APPOINTMENT ORIGINALLY. I WAS BEGINNING TO TELL HIM THAT IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM THE DAY BEFORE, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY TO TAKE CARE OF THE MISTAKE IMMEDIATELY. BEFORE I COULD SAY THIS HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS "RIDICULOUS" THAT WE COULD MAKE A MISTAKE LIKE THAT. BEFORE HANGING UP ON ME, HE SAID HE WOULD NO LONGER BE USING OUR SERVICES. I WROTE THIS MEMBER A LETTER IMMEDIATELY AFTER GETTING OFF THE PHONE, EXPLAINING THAT WE WERE SORRY, AND WE HOPED HE WOULD RE-CONSIDER OUR COMPANY IN THE FUTURE.

KEN DID A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING THE WORK AND EVEN TOOK ME TO SEE A JOB THAT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING INSTALLED. THIS MADE ME FEEL EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE WITH THE PROCESS AND THEIR COMPANY. HE EXPLAINED THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RAINBIRD AND TORO AND WE SELECTED THE TORO SYSTEM. THE NUMBER OF ZONES AND COVERAGE WAS CUSTOM DESIGNED FOR OUR YARD. YOU CAN FIND COMPANIES WILLING TO DO THE WORK FOR LESS HOWEVER I WOULD QUESTION THEIR QUALITY OF PARTS, SERVICE COMMITMENT, OR SCOPE OF THE JOB BEFORE COMMITTING TO GO WITH ANYONE OTHER THAT BARTHULY! BRET CAME BACK AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB EXPLAINING THE SYSTEM. OVERALL I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BARTHULY FOR INSTALLING OR SERVICING YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM.
