Contracted with Ryan Oros of Aztec to replace old and leaking roof. Ryan was great to work with. He listened to our lengthy list of issues with our roof, gutters, and siding. He came up with solutions to fix each issue and provided us with a comprehensive list to show exactly what each item would cost. There was never any pressure to do more work than we were comfortable doing. Once we decided on what was to be fixed, the Aztec crew (of about eight guys!) came a few days after to start work. They finished all of the repair work and roofing in two days. Painted the house on a Saturday. Gutters installed a couple of days later. During the entire process, Ryan stayed on top of the job, kept in contact with us in person and by phone to ensure that the work was done correctly and that we were happy with the work being performed. Afterwards, stopped by to do a final walk around and fix anything that needed attention. The job was done efficiently and professionally. The workers were also good about cleaning up each day. I think we received a good quality job at a very fair price. Aztec was recommended to us by a neighbor, and we will definitely recommend him to others.

I really Liked Ryan Oros and Aztec. It was a tough decision but we decided to go with another company.

From the initial sales call to the completion, I was very satisfied. When the worked started (once it stopped raining), everything went off without a hitch. I was kept informed all through the process/work. Our house has a completely new look. The siding and painting crews were professional and were available to answer any of our questions. The crews cleaned up after each work day. I still can't believe how fast they were able to complete the project. A minor problem resulted from the painting. Specks of paint from the painters were on the patio furniture. Once I brought it to the foreman's attention, the painting company came out to my house within 24hrs and cleaned the specks off of the furniture.

The work started in November of 2008, and continued through March of 2009. Due to wind, rain, snow and cold, the work progressed as well as could be expected. The siding was finished in December 2008, but the painting and some of the trim work couldn't be completed until weather permitted. I had no problem with the responsiveness or the delays. In fact, I was surprised that some of the work was accomplished during some pretty nasty weather. Ryan was in touch with me, and called each time work was scheduled. He was on site at the completion of each process, and made sure that I was satisfied with what had been accomplished. The few times that I had concerns, I was able to reach Mike Dittmer, and schedule a meeting with Ryan to work out the solution.

It was great working with this company. They wanted to do the job well and do the job right. I was kept updated with how the work was progressing and could always call if I had any questions about the work that was being done. I loved that they would fix any underlying problems as they worked on the siding. We have had other people fix rotten wood around the house, but they were the first to find the source of the problem and fix it, along with doing all the siding work.

Everything was excellent. Working with Mike, the owner, was very refreshing. He was on-site most of the time, and if he wasn t, the supervisor was. They were very responsive and we were very happy with them. They were very pleasant and professional, and we would absolutely use them again.

It was a very positive experience. I liked the timeliness, courtesy and professionalism. It was all excellent. They were great.

The Aztec crew was wonderful to work with. We had lots of questions and concerns which were handled with patience and obvious knowledge of the product. We had some issues come up in the middle of things - our fault, not theirs - and they were very gracious. Aztec was always easily reached by phone and questions answered/issues promptly dealt with. The house looks so great now, I have neighbors stopping me outside and even coming to the door to tell me how much they like it.

The job proposal, including pictures, looked great. The job started later than originally scheduled. The siding looks good. The windows are very nice. The doors look good. The caulking aroun the windows does not have a professionally installed appearance; it is thick and lumpy.

It went pretty well. They gave me an estimate which was right on. They came on time and got the work done when they were supposed to. They cleaned up when they finished.

They were responsive in coming out to look at what we had to do. They followed up quickly with a quote. The only downside to their quote was that it was not as specific as I would have liked and that resulted in me having to make several calls back to get those specifics figured out. John was willing to stop by a second time and go over each of these details again with me. Although the contract that resulted in this did not seem to include these additional items.

We chose Aztec because of their "A" Angie's List rating, the fact they were doing siding on other houses in the neighborhood (which looked decent), and because they included painting in their estimate (many siding companies said we would have to use another company to paint!). Now that the job is complete, I can say I am satisfied with the finished product. The boards are laid straight, the seams are well caulked/sealed, and the paint job was well done. My only complaint was in the mess that was made, which seems to be a commonality with every outdoor contractor we have dealt with this year (roofers, windows, and siding), though in this case it seemed worse than usual. The dumpster was not delivered when the workers started, so they just threw the old wood siding on the lawn, landscape, against the house; wherever. It was mostly cleaned up by the end, but I'm still picking up chunks of wood and nails. The painters cleaned the brushes in one spot on the grass, leaving a white spot that will probably take a season to fade away. It wouldn't have been hard to take a few minutes to lay a tarp (I would have volunteered mine had I known) or to roll out the hose a bit further and wash the paint off above the dumpster. One other comment I have is that there were no English speaking workers on site during the tear-off and residing (which required us to call the project manager on his cell phone for to communicate during the project), though one worker spoke English during the painting. While I marked "use again" as a possible yes (since messiness and non-English speaking workers seems to be par for the course), I simply don't feel that the service qualified as "excellent" (A).

I found them from the James Hardy booth in the Indianapolis Home Show. They removed the old vinyl and replaced it with the new siding. It was very good. They were polite and helpful.

My experience with them, overall, was pretty good, but there were little things. For example, I went and got the paint swatch and went through all this trouble to get the color I wanted, then they gave it to the painter and he went to another place and got another paint that didn't match with the color I found. When they put it on, it was so yellow, but it ended up working out once it dried. I really like it now, but I would have liked the other one too.

Mike Dittmer was the only siding professional I spoke with who shared my vision of this work as a restoration project instead of just a siding job. This project started in August 2007 and did not finish until May 2008. This delay was due to failed delivery of cedar shakes that I was responsible for. Mike was very understanding of the delay and very professional in his interactions with me. The house posed quite a few challenges as different sections had settled over the years and making the siding and trim level while accommodating the settling was no small task. Although we had a few minor issues with the professionalism of some of the crew, we were very happy with the results and would be happy to work with Mike again in the future. Mike kept reiterating that he was not happy until I was happy, and he backed that up with actions.

We have not yet decided if we want to proceed with the work. We have a couple of different projects that are quoted out, and we are just trying to decide which direction we are going (or where we are moving!). If we do decided to do the job, I will certainly call Mike.

This is how a company should be run. Mike called a few days before the job was to start and told me the chronology of the process. Ryan Oros then took over managing the job. The materials arrived exactly as stated and Ryan was on hand to oversee the start of the removal of the old siding and wrap of the house with Typar. The workers were efficient and meticulous. They very carefully followed the installation instructions and were finished on time. They did a beautiful job. Ryan came by periodically to oversee the process and was always available if I had any questions. Then the paint crew came took over. They caulked all the joints, scraped and washed down the old surfaces. I think they must have used at least 4 cases of caulk! They then taped off all the windows and sprayed painted the siding and trim. Then they checked the entire house again and recaulked and scraped any places where additional attention was needed and resprayed the entire house. They too were meticulous and when the crews were gone the house looked terrific!

I had Aztec reside my home 2 years ago and this spring I noticed a mildewy smell in the north facing wall. Mike Dittmer came out and checked it out and determined that there was a high likelihood that the window in that wall was leaking. After caulking it the smell remained. Mike said he would take off the siding, and check around the window and after removing the siding they found that the window had leaked and that the pressed fiber sheathing around and below the window was soaked and deteriorating and was the source of the odor. They replaced it with fresh siding and repainted it. Mike had been out several times over this situation and had made it a point to come out at the same time as other workers were coming out so that he could help me to get to the bottom of the situation. I can't say enough about how accommodating and helpful he was and how competent the workmen who did the job were. And when I requested it, Mike also gave me a recommendation for a person to replace the window.

We obtained estimates from 3 highly ranked Angie's List members. We were particularly interested in how they would repair a poorly designed gutter/roof valley that leaked down the wall. Even though the quotes were close, Aztec Homes gave the lowest bid, despite their inclusion of complete soffit replacement in their price. Mike Dittmer (owner) met with us several times after work or weekends to discuss plans. Although it had rained frequently in the weeks prior to our job, Mike's crew started on time. Due to our work schedules, Ryan and/or Mike met with us in the evenings to answer any questions or concerns. They accommodated any additional requests we had. The workmanship on the siding was exceptional and the paint crew did a fantastic job making a tired house look new. There was minor miscommunication with the subcontractor installing the gutters, but Ryan efficiently corrected things. Their solution to our misdirected water flow was successful and, due to our positive experience, we are planning to have Aztec Homes replace our roof in the near future. Ryan was very generous with his time and gave us a number of good suggestions/advice on other remodeling projects we are undertaking ourselves. Our home now looks brand new and we are very pleased in having chosen Aztec Homes!

Began quote process in April, 2008. We expanded the project to 100% of siding as we started the original job of just two sides which received a lot of sun. Project was started when promised. It took approximately 9-10 working days. Aztec Homes stayed on the job until I was finished with them. I mean to say they did not pull off the job to go to another at any time. Even with the additional work I ask for, they stayed on the job until completion. All personnel at Aztec Homes were great to work with. Communication was constant. They addressed all questions and concerns immediately and to our satisfaction.

It was a good experience and they did a nice job. If there was any problems they addressed them and in the end it was an excellent job. The workers were punctual and professional. I have no complaints.

They were here on time and they finished a little ahead of schedule. They did a good job cleaning up and keeping the area clean as they went. Their prices seemed very fair. Everybody I dealt with from the installers, managers, or sales all were very responsive. I highly recommend them to any one who needs siding work or painting work done.

I interviewed several companies to install new siding on my house. Several people were eager to bid initially, but when I revealed that I was looking for a good value and a quality install, many of them started to not follow up as well as in the beginning. One company took the time to address my needs and to make sure that I was comfortable with the process. That was AZTEC HOMES! After looking at the proposal and meeting with Ryan and Mike a couple times, we decided to move ahead with them as our contractor. This has been one of the best contractor decisions that we have ever made! Ryan, Mike and company held our hand every step of the way and guided us through the process flawlessly. Ryan was on site every day to check on progress and to talk to me about any problems/issues that may have came up. We had some unseen rot, that Aztec could have just covered up, but they stopped work and contacted me to look at and to help me decide on the best plan of action. This is something that you don't normally find in contractors!!! Aztec Homes was honest, upfront, professional, and friendly, which made the process go smoothly. I actually started to look forward to my meetings with Ryan and Mike, as I seemed to learn something new about my house and the construction business every day! They spent a lot of time explaining things to me about construction and siding and really made me feel a part of the process! Their lead installer, Todd, and the lead painter, Remy, were also great at answering my questions. Overall I am extremely satisfied and my only regret is that I didn't research a little harder on Angie's List before selecting a contractor. I could have saved myself a lot of time by reviewing how many happy customers Aztec Homes has in Indy. They are clearly the standout siding installer in Indy!!

They were very professional. They finished the job in the time frame they stated. They are very experienced with this type of siding and did a great job. I have recommended them to several others.

As a purchasing professional, I was determined to find the best siding installer in central Indiana. Thirteen companies bid the job. I focused on the companies that could subcontract the tasks that were not their core competencies. Some bidders were absurdly high on pricing. Some miscalculated the "squares" of siding or roofing and were unrealistically low. About half of the bidder were within a square or two but were still diverse in pricing. By breaking down each task of this extensive project it was easy to compare and negotiate. Mike Dittmer and Aztec Homes were by far the most responsive and comprehensive bidder, except for one other. Mike gave detail on pricing and all other aspects of their proposal. He even made a major downward adjustment on the roofing when advised of his competitive position. Once awarded the job, Mike and his lieutenant, Ryan, made many visits to discuss the project and the progress being made. Todd, the leader of the siding team, was a master craftsman that took pride in his work. It showed in his attention to detail. Remy was leading the painting team and their work was flawless. The subcontractors handling the gutters and garage doors were timely and high quality in their work. The communication on this job was outstanding. Mike called regularly, Ryan called or stopped by daily with progress reports and to answer questions and Todd was at the house every evening to go over their progress on the siding and to discuss details. Every request or question I had was answered completely and professionally. Mike and Aztec was by far the best value we could have found in Central Indiana. Their bid was the most competitive but most importantly their work quality was outstanding. It's truly impressive since it looks brand new but is actually 20 years old. Mike was so personable that he made a special trip himself to "seal" a gap between my porch and brick facia. He knew I was unfamiliar with the process and did it to please his customer. Likewise, when unexpected issues came up like replacing rotten roof decking, Mike had his team make the repairs at no additional cost to us. Overall, I've never had a more satisfying business experience in all my years dealing with home construction personnel. Not only did we find the best value in Aztec, but also the lowest cost and most personable. My advice to anyone considering siding is to contact Mike Dittmer at Aztec for a discussion on the project and a bid if appropriate. I guarantee you won't be disappointed in the bid response or the work performed by Mike. Mike Dittmer leads a winning team and I'm confident your experience will be similar to mine.
